Sean, going back to Endo, I don’t think he’s a bad player. I just don’t think he’s a top top player. He’s decent but you can see that he’s out of his depth sometimes. If we want to be the best, we’ve got to have an 11-15 players who will very rarely look out of their depth.

I think Endo was a replacement for Milner and he’s got a fantastic attitude, will be a great squad player. If I am wrong and he turns out to be much more than that then I’m totally ok with that.

It’s important to have players who do everything that they can in order to push their potential to the max. I think Milner was one, I think Salah is another kind of one also. Salah though ios a player with both crazy potential and crazy drive. That’s how you become a world class player. Ronaldo is another one like Salah.
Endo is a Milner, and it’s important to have these guys but for your first 11, you want top level players, and they arent quite there. Milner was for a while but as here got older… not as much.

So ya, what I say about Endo might sound harsh, it’s not meant to be though.

Ya, fair enough. I don’t think we should have been happy with or accepted not beating Utd. As for the midfield, ya there’s no Gini there and it’s probably cost us trophies, at least in the past but I don’t think we need to consider a direct replacement, as it’s a Fabinho replacement that we need. I think the rest is sorted TBH. We have 5 quality players for 2 positions. Any more than that and we will have problems.

I am starting to think that we will have to sign a top striker alright. I’d love to say that I don’t want to give up on Nunez, and I had half of that typed out but he’s just not coming good. It’s almost like it’s worse he’s getting too because before, he’d do an awful lot even if he wasn’t scoring, now I just think he’s a passenger.

I will hope he puts his head down and fights, because I do like to be right and I very heavily backed this guy. I’m not the only ones, as we paid an absolute fortune for him. We’ll never see that money again.

Just ATM, what was potentially the most dangerous attack in the PL, seems a bit blunted. What a difference a few goals might make of course, and Salah’s against Arsenal was really good. You can always rely on Salah./ WETF we’re gonna do when he goes is another story. There’s just no replacing him. I wonder if we should just keep him until he no longer wants to play for us. Would he be worth £200m over the next 4-5 years? Probably.

Besides a CDM, I dont think we need anyone. The issue for me seems to be how they are knitting together.

and ya, Im very happy to be where we are. You could say we were robbed by VAR against spurs and arsenal but there were some late wins in there with performances that didn’t exactly demand a win… so, I’ll note it and ask why the hell VAR is so ineptly executed but all in all, I don’t think we’re playing well enough to expect us to be top.

I definitely dont agree with the sub for red idea. That would basically make teams commit loads of red card offenses. It’d turn the game into a dangerous farce.
However, I am in favour of bringing in a sin-bin.

going back to the match. I missed so much because my streams were a disaster… but wow, that was obviously a penalty. It is the most obvious deliberate handball that I have seen for a long time.

whilst I still think arsenal are better than Liverpool on the whole, that was nothing but robbery.

I missed the entire 2nd half, so when I speak, it’s about everything before that.

I don’t celebrate draws, in almost all circumstances, and I wont start now. I know that people might have accepted a draw before the match and that can be pragmatic to some and perhaps just arguably so. I don’t agree with it though. having seen most of the first half though, I just don’t feel that we’re the best team in the PL now. I think we’re going backwards.

I’m not here to start a blame game and I’m definitely not going to say that we need to never play anyone. I can’t tell if it’s a case of me being wrong about certain players, or the possibility that some may just be a bit out of form.

My main example would be Diaz. There are people out there who have been saying that he wasn’t good enough for a while. Like, I really have to start doubting myself here because I saw so much in this guy. I also saw a wealth of really great stuff from Nunez… and what’s going on now? They are just nothing now.

It’s difficult not to make this about me given that we’re talking about my own failings in spotting weaknesses in these players. If there were 2 player who I thought (besides our new signings of course) who would really shine this season, it would have been those 2.

Arsenal are the better side and they will finish ahead of us.
I’m a bit bitter about it because we’ve chased city so hard on several other seasons and not got there. 97, 99 points or whatever it was. It wont take anything even close to those seasons. we don’t need to be anywhere near as good as then, and the PL is ours but…

Arsenal are the best team in the PL RIGHT NOW and they are gonna do it. They wont bee 99 or 97 points. They just need to be the best and failing the season before will stand to their mentality this time around when they realise what I’ve just said.

ive literally hopped between 100-200 sreams today, so I don’t think Im going to watch the 2nd half. Im just not seeing enough anymore.

I have seen enough to say that regardless of the result today, this Liverpool team will not win the PL this season. I mean, unless we sign someone in January who really fits in well. its just a mess.
I would still have liked to have seen the 2nd half tho.

Nil, I have seen enough from Endo to think that he isn’t good enough to ever be considered as a starter.
We over-paid for him.
That isn’t to say that he isn’t welcome as a squad player because I do think he’s alright and has a g great attitude. he is not first 11 though.

I am a bit worried about today. Liverpool haven’t been good lately. Klopp shaking up the fans will do no harm, as there was a bit of complacency setting in. The fans have been expecting the team to win, rather than hoping and we’ll win nothing with that attitude.

Hopefully the people in the stands today will respond and help fire up a team that is looking a bit lackluster.

As for your opinion on him being over-hyped I mean fair enough, I get why people don’t rate him. He isn’t exactly a great defender, so you can argue that with conviction and not be wrong, fundamentally.

That is where it ends though, with fundamentals, and it goes into new territory into something kinda new and partially experimental.
What makes Ttrent so good in total basic sense is that he can make us kinda play as in we had 11.5 men on the field. People might argue that with me, please don’t, I’m just using this as an over-simplified way to explain that he plays a roaming defensive playmaker role. So hypothetically, he defends when we are out of possession, as a RRB but then when we have possession, he drifts into midfield and with his really amazing ability to pass the ball, he becomes a threat to the opposition.

It’s not easy to do this, as you have to have a RCB who can cover for him in transitions and the player who plays this role has got to have a really good ability to spot players and thread balls through or play them over the top etc etc. He passes as well as Gerrard did, so I think he’s got that.

So far though, I think Trent is defending so much better than he was last season. I’m not saying he is lighting it up or anything but last season was farcical at times. Of course, we had a complete joke of a midfield lasts season, so our defence was exposed over and over and over. That’s gone and Trent doesnt look traumatized anymore.

Ed, that lad was excellent alright. he showed the kind of drive that the others should be showing week in and out. That is the benefit of turning to youth players. Maybe it’ll give Ten Haag some food for thought because what he really needs even more than wins is a team that fights and fights.

Im not sure if people will remember how pro-Nunez I was but he’s actually becoming a liability now. I’ve been calling for him to be dropped for 2 games now and he couldn’t have been more useless today, if he genuinely tried.

I don’t think he was our main issue though, even if he spearheaded our uselessness. Our main issue was this low tempo BS.

There really was no need for us to be playing the ball around as slowly as we were. the commentary kept on complimenting Utd for forcing us to play that way but I didn’t see it. I saw Utd being able to get into or stay in shape because we were playing it around casually. they weren’t hounding us. we had plenty of space and time on the ball. maybe we had too much?

I don’t like how we’re utilizing Gravenberch and I don’t like how Szoboszlai is settling into the team. His effectiveness is collapsing. IUU don’t want to give out about him but he’s not been good the last few games and Klopp needs to find a solution.

personally, I think I’d start Elliott instead of SZb next match and try to get more out of Gravenberch. I don’t want to blame the forward too much, because if the midfield are this slow, they are never going to be able to time their runs and Salah isn’t made of magic. Playing the ball to his feet, with his back to goal is a fallback, it isn’t Plan A. Ya he’s decent like this but it’s his utility, it’s not the best way to utilize him. Big difference.

Ed, II don’t know if you , noticed but Utd suddenly came alive with bout 3 mins left or so and wow, for a short window they were really lively and intelligent. Even in my own mist-filled mind of mwantring Liverpool to , win, I stopped myself and thought “well they can play when they want to!”… it’s there if they choose to bother… I just thought that i’d nearly be upset to see it were I a Utd fan.

Those players that started actually caring with 5 mins left have got to go. I don’t remember who it was now but that’s yer problem.

as for Liverpool, you can see that we’re not quite there, as I was kinda getting at previously. We are very very good in ways but there’s just something missing. it’s like we have all the ingredients but the pot hasn’t heated up enough yet. the chemistry isn’t quite there.

I think we have to find it fast because City and arsenal won’t stick around. I think we have more potential but they have more current ability.
