Just watched Tifo analysis of the game.
They talked about utds out of possession structure and how it is the same as bielsa. They go man for man but have 2 centre backs against the striker meaning they have to leave someone free and depending on the side the ball is on they will leave one of the opposition full backs free.
The problem is that when you make it a game of one on one battles you need to be winning them, and if you don’t games can get away from you.
Seems a risky tactic to be fair against a team as lethal on break as pool. However it does seem effective at preventing most teams in this league from creating many chances against them.
Important for utd to kick on from this and their consistency to date makes me think they will. They don’t score much but they win a lot and today was an exceptional result.

You are right other pundits have personal agenda’s too, I just personally haven’t seen it as blatant and consistent as from neville. To be fair that’s a lot to do with his position with sky and the coverage his opinion gets.

We will need to be a much tighter and more cohesive unit before we can challenge for anything 67 so I think you are right, while a proper striker would be great, it won’t matter much unless a lot of other things are sorted.

For me it’s not the bias, it’s his modus operandi in general. Unlike commentators that call what they see in a game neville is always referring back to his own narratives and talks as though he has the most enlightened opinion in world football. He looks shocked when people disagree with anything he says.
Its not bias towards utd that’s the problem, it’s his damn ego and the blatant agendas he wears on his sleeves.
Think back to all that bollocks he talked about ole, if it was down to him ole would still be there FFS! So again, it’s agenda’s not bias for his club and that’s what separates him from the rest in my opinion.

I agree mikey, Neville is a completely different monster compared to the standard ex pro pundit. Can’t think of another pundit that compares to him, granted all are at least a little biased though.

Mikey, I couldn’t agree more on neville mate, thought exact same today and glad someone else said it.
He has pre determined and preferred narratives and everything he says is to interpret what is happening within his narrative. He does not try to be objective and imposes his narrative on everything, but when he is covering utd it is unbearable.

67, if he is to be sacked before end of season it will happen after dortmund game imo.
I got a ticket for dortmund game and expect him to be in dug out for it regardless of Leeds result. If we go out to dortmund which is very likely then I think all bets are off, he could be sacked before I get back home 😆
I have always said I would give him until end of season and review then, but without a big turn around in results I cant believe he will be at Chelsea next season.
Would take a miracle now but just like the ramones, I believe in miracles 😆
