Nine, I think the only question mark over Alonso would be whether he has the man management skills to survive at Real, from what I have seen of him throughout his career he probably has a very good tactical understanding of the game, he was a very intelligent player.

Pagan, I read the figure is the cost of sacking Zidane and appointing Jose. In terms of tax deductions etc, surely from Reals point of view his contract is worth £X and they pay £X to terminate it, the deductions come after and £X is the total cost to Real, just maybe not the net received by Zidane which would be £X less tax.

Its a bs figure, just read 70m is the cost of sacking Zidane and replacing with Jose, which is a stupid way of looking at it, as if you wanted to look at it that way then Zidane’s original contract is actually just the cost of sacking the last manager and shouldnt be accounted for twice.

According to Sport, It would set back the Spanish giants a whopping £70m just to get rid of the former World Cup winner.
Zidane signed a three-and-a-half year deal back in March that would earn him a net payment of £11.5million each season.
With three years remaining on the contract, the payout would be in the region of £35m, a figure that would come at a gross payment of £70m (€80m) to Real.
I am usually pretty good with maths but can someone please help me out as to why paying of the 35m remaining in his contract equates to 70m bill for sacking him?

I agree nine, I have all the respect in the world for Klopp and its always nice to hear positive things about your team from football professionals you can truly respect.

Clever because its true nine, but also unfairly heightens expectations of our team and so effectively mind games. Yes Mount and Tammy now have high market values, but compared to pools team if you estimate their current values it is still way off and despite Klopps praise he still has the far better team at his disposal and the greater pressure to win on the weekend.

Think back to Jose’s criticisms of Lampard selecting Tammy and Mount in that game against utd, 4 games later and combined Tammy and Mount account for 10 of our 11 goals so far in prem league. With out doubt Jose is the superior manager but for what chelsea need now I wouldnt swap him for lamps in a heart beat, he just doesnt get potential like fergie did, you’re either world class or irrelevant to jose.
