Looking at some of the purchases I think we will see more of it.

Mount and Bruno as double 10s at utd?

Szoboszlai and macallister at pool?

Havertz and odegard at Arsenal?

Ed, ten hag was a fan when mount was on loan at vitesse and he believes he has the right profile for his side.

I wanted to keep him but not at the money he wanted.

Ed, totally back you on that, as much as utd spend they are restricted by owners who have purchased the club with the clubs own money and who are holding out for 5bn+ return on the lowest risk and investment you could ever see.

It’s criminal in my eyes that we allow our clubs to be used this way and I fully back all utd fans who want glazers out.

P.s Ed, just checked, it’s 3 sales to Saudi clubs, all for market value, ziyech, mendy and koulibaly. All fit the profiles of other players genuinely touted by Saudi clubs independent of the needs of chelsea fc.

I am sorry we didn’t struggle to offload players and breach FFP as many would have hoped, but again we have utd at 60m and arsenal 65m chiefly to credit for that. So thank you.

That should be FFP sorted then, thanks to utd and arsenal chiefly.

Not happy about selling mount to utd on the whole but given he wanted out this is a good deal for all.

Best thing from Chelsea POV is all these big sales have come before July 1st and so will allow us to cover this year’s expenditure and give us scope to persue a few more additions as soon as new season technically commences on 1st of July when poch finally starts.

Lads, with the new META seemingly being to defend in back 4 and attack with back 3, players who can play at elite level in a back 4 position as well as holding mid are pretty desirable.

It doesn’t have to be the full back that steps up in to midfield and in terms of transitioning from attack to defense or vice versa I think having the hybrid player move from centre back to holding mid rather than full back to holding mid could be a more comfortable fit. Rice would be perfect imo. Have ake and stones stay back with another centre back and let Rice move in to midfield with rodri. When they lose the ball he drops in to defensive line to make a back 4?

I think that’s how both pep and arteta could be looking at rice

Lads, I do get that it’s a hell of a coincidence that Saudi clubs are on a huge investment drive in to their leagues at a time chelsea have a bloated squad and need to sell to meet FFP.

However, it’s sloppy logic to jump to the conclusion it is a conspiracy to benefit of chelsea when there are many players from many clubs being touted and purchased.

Seems to me that given the circumstances and relative needs of chelsea and Saudi league, we are to them like an overstocked candy shop to rich kids.

Very lucky for us 😆

To be fair Alfie that is a water tight and genuine defence mate.

However my understanding is the issue is not that city’s commercial income was inflated via subsidy of owner via third company owned by its same owners, its that they advised the other premier league clubs to the contrary at that time. Call it deception, lies or fraud but in my understanding that’s where main issue is.
