Sean I agree the Derby isnt dead at all mate, if its dead because one team is challenging for the title and the other is miles away then it has pretty much always been dead as that has normally been the case anyway, except utd have been the ones challenging and pool have been the ones lagging behind. Just because that has reversed it doesnt do anything to change the fact that this is Liverpool versus Manchester united.

I have seen a few similar posts on varied threads seeming to suggest that solskaer’s job is on the line depending on this one result, ie get battered and he is sacked. Any one else think this is stupid?

I mean I will be absolutely clear that Solskjaer is imo not good enough for utd, but why would it take a battering off the champions of Europe to prove this to the utd board?

I know Jose was sacked after losing to pool but my feeling is the decision was made before then and it was decided to wait until after the pool game to make the change, I dont for one second believe that one loss was the reason Jose was sacked and I think similar with Ole, If utd lose to pool and he is sacked it will have very little to do with the game imo, and would have been decided before, if that is not the case then utd are officially as stupid as they are profitable.

Mak, not to detract from your argument but neither of Klopps Bundesliga titles were won while Pep was at Bayern. In fact Pep won the title in all 3 of his seasons there. I cant split them myself but lean slightly towards Klopp.

Lukaku was bloody dreadful tonight, I would feel sorry for Conte but he bought him the silly sod 🙂

To be fair to Conte tonight, based on the players he has compared to Juve it was a miracle it was close, it was men vs boys at times and as good as Inter’s start has been, there are levels and then there is Juve as far as Serie A is concerned. Conte had nothing on the bench to really change the game, Sarri brought on Higuain who got the winner.

Massive win for Juve and overtaking Inter at the top of Serie A. They played superbly at times and fair play to Sarri as it was the changes in second half that won him the game, but Conte didnt have the same options to be fair to him.

Juve were stupid if they were genuinely considering letting Dybala go. Any prem team gets the chance to sign him again they need to snap him up, top quality. Juve dominating second half so far.

Anyone watching Inter v Juve? Proper game this is, half time 1-1, Ronaldo and Dybala look amazing together with Bernadeschi playing behind them (sarri is playing cruyff’s 442 diamond rather than his usual 433)

Thought it was unlucky for Inter to get this game just a few days after playing in Nou camp but thats how it goes sometimes. They are giving Juve a hell of a game though and it is truly a Conte side in the making. Also unlucky to lose their young mid sensi early to injury, the replacement Vecino doesnt look half the player sensi is and Inter have found it harder since he went off.

Ref great in this game, and of course no good game nowadays without VAR over ruling a goal and Ronaldo had a great strike from outside box ruled out, Dybala and him had played a great one-two but Dybala was a fraction off-side.

Lukaku been crap but better suited to conte’s system, the guy really standing out for Inter so far is Latauro Martinez, he scored the pen for inter and his movement is superb on the break.

Cant wait for second half, best game of the weekend by far for me and only 45 mins gone 🙂

Im not English lads, but if I was I dont think I would be happy with Rashford getting selected for national team. Seriously as a number 9 Kane, Vardy and even Abraham are much better and on the wing there’s sterling and sancho amongst a few other options. I really dont think he is worthy of his selection.

Cant believe the city result to be fair, good advantage for pool now, I know City turned around a similar gap with much less games remaining last year but psychologically Pool are feeling more and more that this is their year and city will be feeling more and more that they are going to fall short, these different outlooks will influence each team as each week progresses and I fancy Liverpool to have a bigger lead come xmas.

A team that always just has about enough and wins consistently by a goal or two imo is a safer bet than a team that can win 8-0 one week and lose 2-0 the next.
