BTW, these rules also disadvantage the weaker teams who will spend less time in oppo box and as result no doubt be the victims of these decisions more often than they benefit.

Imagine being manager of a struggling team and you set them up perfectly against a top team and your boys give all they have, then in last min ball bounces in to back of defenders arm and bye bye to the point.

Steve Bruce showed a lot of class to be so outspoken despite benefitting from it, but he knows his side will suffer more than most from this in long term.

Lads, did you see the stats re handball pens on MOTD2? La liga, like the prem, used to average around 20 handball pens per season, that shot up to 57 the first season these rules were introduced, almost tripling, and like here a lot of these would have been completely accidental. Rules are rules but these rules are mental.

Apparently bundesliga saw a similar jump first season but a reduction in second season as defenders were instructed to keep hands by sides at all times. I remember few years back Ivanovic started defending like that and got some stick off Gary neville, ahead of his time by the looks of it and he never gave a pen away for handball 🙂

Sean, I think it will be very similar to game at bridge except arsenal won’t get caught with a ball in behind like we did so you will rely on mane, salah or firminho coming up with bit of magic in tight spaces. Will be a tough game for you and a draw wouldnt surprise me.

No chance of progression and little stability at chelsea until transfer window shuts. Always takes time to integrate new players but the bigger problem is experienced senior players not knowing if they will be here come end of window. Alonso awful today and I’m sure he wants to join inter and reunite with conte. Rudiger left out over transfer uncertainty, jorginho and Emerson other regulars from last year who are not focused. Where was zouma today maybe we had a bid for him.

Chelsea are loan Central right now every club trying to get one of our players on loan with option to buy.
