The talk about top 6 is for one reason only Sean, the work bielsa has done already means top 6 is the next step, but that is remarkable in itself and deserves high praise imo and I don’t think any manager would be able to take Leeds top 6 in next 3 seasons at least

Ed if this was Leeds and bielsa’s first season back then I wouldn’t be arguing, but its not thet survived comfortably last season, he isn’t out of his depth.

Ultimately a managers job is to create something greater than sum of its parts, you can write a list of managers in prem league doing that better than bielsa has but it would be short and ole wouldn’t be on it imo.
I just think criticism of bielsa for getting destroyed by 2 of the greatest teams in world football is a bit over the top.

Ed you said you wouldn’t have bielsa at utd, and I agree with that he has done nothing to deserve to manage one of the greatest clubs in history of football, but has clearly done far more than ole and so I found it strange that you seemed to have higher standards for Leeds manager than you do utd. But not confused now as you have cleared it up by confirming you believe ole is better fit for utd than bielsa which I accept as your opinion.
I believe however that the utd squad ole had last year should sleepwalk to 80 points there is nothing remarkable what so ever about oles reign at utd (except net spend of course), but bielsa’s time at Leeds has been remarkable which is why I am defending him and using ole as comparison in discussion with a utd fan who is criticising bielsa.

Bloody hell lads Leeds been out of prem for 20 years and the man who got them back not good enough?
Ed, Leeds would never have been promoted under ole, not just saying that to be hip either 🙂
Nine against the top 4 it does seem suicidal to play that way but competing with top 4 is not in his remit mate.

Ed I think that bielsa’s work with Leeds can’t be denied mate, he has created a team that is greater than the sum of its parts. Not only getting promotion but doing it playing fantastic football and finishing mid table in premier league playing the exact same way. Watch the take me home documentary on Leeds, both seasons, the impact he had is remarkable.
I think what frustrates us is everyone knows that they will concede tons of goals against the top teams playing like that and it makes you wonder whether they should be adapting their style against the top 4 at least. But maybe they would still end up conceding 2 or 3 per games playing more defensively and also create much less going forward.
Ultimately I can’t help hut admire the man.

I’m still shaking myself nine, can’t imagine how his team mates and elliot himself feeling. I think like nil we won’t see Elliot again this season. Just wish him as speedy a recovery as possible, he has shown such potential in these opening games

Only get harder for Leeds as second half develops, it has taken everything they had just to go in 1 down, pool to smash them in second half I think

Agree Nine, playing centre midfieldin premier league is probably as tough as it gets and just like kovacic and jorginho will take a while for saul to adjust. If he adjusts well we have a bargain, if not no worries it was well worth the punt.
YB, I think you are right re kovacic saul although I think it might have helped saul to be playing left side of the 2 instead of right, tuchel would have had his reasons though and plenty of time for saul to adapt.

Sean, saul is a good addition to our squad but the levels we have seen from jorginho, kante and kovacic mean that saul will have to be better than he has ever been to play regularly for us.
I said before the game I expected jorginho and kovacic to start with saul on bench. I understand why tuchel wanted to try to rest jorginho but it was a risk starting saul and Tuchel had to correct it half time.
No doubt of his ability when fully match sharp and in form and we will need to see him reach those levels for us to challenge on all fronts.

Good 3 points that, poor first half and debut to forget for saul. I was very surprised he started and tuchel had to pull him half time.
Superb from lukaku considering little was created for him, kovacic also carrying on with his unbelievable form.

Yeah Ed very poor first half from us, saul had an awful debut and villa had a quite a few chances through pressing him and forcing errors.
Perfect from lukaku though, 2 chances 2 fantastic goals.

A great feature I like on Spotify is the daily drive playlist. Only started using it a year after starting using Spotify but that’s when it’s best because the more of your favourite music you play the more Spotify can recognise what you like.
It basically creates a playlist based on the music you love and mixes it with short news podcasts and other podcasts based on what you like so I get talksport and short science features and general interest podcasts mixed with music that I am never disappointed with. Its like your own little radio show that always surprises and satisfies me with its selections.
It’s very good at grouping songs together based on mood and tempo too because the songs come in 4 or 5’s between the news and other stuff and they always seem to be very well suited as short playlists on their own, then it goes to news and when it comes back it’s another 4/5 songs but instead of selecting from my fave guitar based songs again it gives me a selection of more mellow music say massive attack/future sound of london/orbital stuff like that. I will get the smiths in same selection as the cure and oasis with the verve, its so smooth but again you really have to listen to all the types of music you like thoroughly and repeat your favourites for it to work at its best.

Yeah that’s true nil mate. I remember when I got first lap top ripping all my cds to media player, loved my music collection but all my cds are ruined now as I never looked after them and that lap top long gone with no back up of my teenage collection.
That’s why I am so thankful for Spotify now because its all there when ai need it and no skipping of tracks through scratched disks!
Although the artists are really ripped off with the way Spotify and publishing companies have it set up with the bands getting hardly any returns I hope that changes it’s not good.

Pagan, watching some live festival sets from hell on you tube now, really good mate I love their sense of theatre and the compositions are great. Who ever is fronting them now is nailing it.
Just heard end ov days at bloodstock 2017, brilliant mate, everything about the song and performance, the structure of the song and transitions fantastic, but that guitar hook over vocals in chorus is epic.
Nice one pagan
