Sean – I think selling Nat Phillips could be a mistake. I think he earned his stripes last year, however if our main defenders keep their fitness it could be money better used elsewhere, particularly with Konate coming in.
I really want to see us sign a midfielder that compliments Thiago. If we can get the best out of him our front 3 will surely profit.
I think the PL is far too competitive to say the title is City’s if they sign Kane and Grealish. We will need to avoid bad luck in the treatment room to stand a chance. Man Utd should be competitive, but I think the title of underdogs has helped Ole, they can’t claim anything of the sort now with the money spent and key targets acquired, pressure will be on from the first kick. That leaves Chelsea as the final title contender, and they could well cause an upset. If they don’t sign a top class striker, Werner hitting form is a must for them._____________________________

I agree Sean next season is a bit of an unknown as far as LFC are concerned. Still think when on song we have the best front 3 in the league especially with Aguero leaving. Our back line when fit is right up there as well. If we sign a top midfielder then i’ll be a bit more at ease. We fielded 18 different cb pairings by feb last season and still finished 3rd. If we avoid the rotten luck of last season there’s no reason why we can’t challenge.

For me Henderson goes down as the best Liverpool captain I have seen. Obviously in no way was he a better player than Stevie, but he was a better captain. Will always be underrated by the vast majority of fans, but to lift a champs league and first prem in 30 years, how can he be considered anything other than an LFC legend. Would love for him to see out his contract, would be crazy to let him and Gini go in the same window.

Yeah I’m not saying he should step down, I just think he got it really wrong on Sunday. It was his first final as a manager, that coupled with his already stacked kudos he deserves a run at the WC in Qatar. By that time Trent will hopefully be fully fit and firing, which could make a massive difference. Not sure Southgate trusts him though tbh, but he is a generational talent, that needs to be let loose on the international stage.

Foxy – We were crying out for a Vardy on Sunday. Sancho coming on earlier could have done that IMO. He and Saka could have been given license to get behind, Sterling also, but I feel his legs were spent after a long season and tournament. It’s important to note that Italy were not actually a better team on paper and there was no real need to us to invite pressure the way we did. I am a huge supporter of Southgate, you all know this, but his game management was awful on Sunday, and I was saying all of this during the game so I’m not going to give him the out of hindsight.

At least i’m venting my anger on here aye Sean. I honestly don’t mean to come across as aggressive. I will rarely post to simply agree with someone though, unless it’s mid conversation. I do mainly post to disagree with someone or to vent. From a personal mental health perspective it works quite well for me, i will try to do better at not negatively impacting others though and feel free to call me out on it in future and remind me of this post.

Experienced pros let a 19yo take the final pen of a major international tournament. Southgate also shares the blame in that. Everyone that had a hand in Saka taking that final penalty is a complete prat. You highlighted that Sterling and grealish don’t take pens for their clubs, I said who cares because Maguire, who doesn’t either, buried his. That miss might mentally cripple Saka, one of the more seasoned pros could probably deal with it a little better. I fail to see how I’m spouting some sort of Pro English narrative.
You quite often say “I can’t be bothered, or I’ll leave you to your stupidity” when someone challenges you Sean. Forums should be for debate, not arrogant finger waving.

9 – A 19yo who had never taken a professional penalty was chosen to go last in a final. The earlier they made that decision the more stupid it is.
Who cares Sean. Maguire doesnt take pens for Man utd either. Its a shootout. If you’re on the pitch be prepared to take one. If he coudlnt run after Jorginho challenge why didnt he come off?

Roy Keanes assessment is comlletely correct. Southgate got so many decision in this tournament correct. But letting a 19yo who hasnt taken a penalty in his professional career step up for the final penalty in a euero final is unforgiveable. To say that they lost as a team is incredibly naive. Southgate should know better than anyone how badly effected you can be from a big peno miss. Sterling and Grealish are absolute wet wipes, the latter I would rather never see for Englabd again. A luxury player billed up to some sort of Messiah because he wins alot of freekicks.
