That’s the point though ed. It’s not comparable. We’re complete Jekyll and Hyde this season. Unable to motivate ourselves for the so called lesser teams, but seem to be up for the big games. Bournemouth and Man Utd didn’t face the same team, despite what the fixture list says. I’m sick to the back teeth with them.

The impartiality argument holds no water. He openly spoke out against Corbyn, didnt seem to be an issue then. Andrew Neil was host for their flagship political program, and he would spout nonsense on twitter all while being the editor for a political magazine with specific leanings.
It’s a storm in a tea cup to distract from the absolute shambles that is our government, and their many, many failings.

After getting spanked 9 nothing, Bournemouth are going to be well up for this.

It’ll always be Fergie time Lucky. Can’t have City doing 3 in a row now can we.

Really sad to see him go, but there’s no room for sentiment, something Klopp actually gets a lot of stick for.
Will wish him all the very best, wherever he ends up.

27th February 2023 at 6:31 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 25 & Carabao Cup Final 2023 #204860I’m not complaining about the lack of trophies liverpool won ed. I’m complaining about the amount man utd won, and the subsequent gloating that went with it. You have to admit Man U fans growing up with me in the 90s are an insufferable bunch. I know a few that refused to watch under lvg, Jose and Ole, and all of a sudden they’re die hards again.

It’s littered with Man United fans unfortunately, exclaiming “Man Utd are back”, “Best team in the world”, “ETH is a genius” etc.

25th February 2023 at 9:54 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 25 & Carabao Cup Final 2023 #2047783 League clean sheets in a row. Silver linings n all that. Can’t understand why the reaction to this match is more distressed than the Brighton or Wolves games. Poor game sure. But not the absolute car crash we’ve seen in multiple other games this season (had to get in with the analogy theme)

Ed – I don’t think it’s fair to blame those fans of other clubs for not speaking out. Let’s not pretend man utd fans are bastians of justice. I’m not a betting man, but if the Qatari’s are successful in purchasing man utd, and pump money in all corners of the club, let the club keep it’s profits, and attain success on the pitch. I highly doubt there will be protests against them from the fanbase, if it then turns out it is state ownership or owners are complicit in one atrocity or another. They’ll just be happy to be sat at the big boy table, and will be as insufferably smug as ever.

3 clear goals just to get to extra time 9. Totally unacceptable game management last night. If anyone in europe could go there and do that, it would be us, but we’re more likely to get spanked with a humiliating aggregate score to come crashing out with.

Let’s not go over board with praise for Real, we were very much architects of our own downfall. Mistakes after mistake from 30mins onwards. Amateurish to be that gung go in a two leg tie after going behind. Ref was a twat as well, but i’ll park that for now.

Sounds about right Sean. VDB must be ready soon to step up for cb. I really liked the look of the Croatian chap, but it’s now being quoted 100mil at least. He’s probably worth it, but likely out of our price range. I am still hopeful of JB for CM, fools hope maybe, but Klopp has an allure, as does Anfield.

Yeah Nike, Ed hit the nail on the head when he said for our model to work, we will always need a world class coach. That has to be the priority always. Whoever sits the big seat, has to be one of the best in the business.

As long as FSG themselves continue to invest I’m happy to be patient, I fear they’re not though. At least not at the rate required.

I’m with 9. I just can’t make it make sense tbh. Unless there’s some sort of rolling agreement where any potential investment for a minority stake would be counted towards a full sale in future, and I dont even know if that’s legal or possible.

For what it’s worth I really like FSG. I just hope they aren’t losing sight of what you need put in to get success. The infrastructure is already there for the most part. Need to get the backroom in order though re the transfer side and almost as importantly, the medical side ie club doctor.
I am hoping and praying the glazers say no offers met their valuation though and sit tight, just to bring my post back round on topic.
