It’s just too stressful watching my team at the moment. I know Spurs nearly threw it away today, but it just seems as though the rest of the top 6 don’t put their fans through the ringer like my team.
That game sums up Mignolet today…some great saves, a penalty save, a comical foul to give away the penalty, a dwelling on the ball too long giving Vardy a sniff early on, so after all those pros and cons he ends up with a 7 out of 10. Just mad!

All joking aside, and I’m really not being po-faced about this, the hijacking of this poll shows how easy it is to start rumours that ‘the majority of Liverpool fans want Klopp out’. You get some journalist who wants a story to back his agenda, he searches the forums etc and next thing you know, the headlines are that Klopp has lost the crowd

Sean…all I can say is that I have not heard even one match going fan wanting Kopp out. Sure, some of his decisions are questioned and so they should be but I reckon it’s 99% in favour of Klopp, like you, like me. It’s the twats who like to make a stir on the phone-ins and the forums who piss me off. They can bugger off and follow Everton if they dont like what’s going on. Short memories and a pathetic need to be controversial

Zk…we should have had enough to overcome them last night. Not a full strength team but nor were they. Plenty of full current internationals playing. As you say a good first half but as soon as Phil went off we folded completely

Since when have teams been allowed to make 4 substitutions in a match? Leeds and Burnley both made 4 last night as did other teams. Is it limited to 4? Is it only if a game goes in to extra time? Is it just in the Carabao Cup? I’ve missed this…can anyone fill me in?

Flanagan is sadly Flanagone…a real shame that. Gomez is no more a Premiership quality centre back yet than I am. He may be in the future but nowhere near yet. Don’t get me started on Klavan…a 4th choice centre back at very best. Hendo is a mile away from recapturing his form of 12 months ago, whether it is this chronic foot injury or what, he’s a pale shadow of his former self. Wijn has had ONE good game this season (admittedly a very good one against Arsenal) and I’m still a little unsure what he brings to the team. The Ox was the worst player on the pitch last night by a distance, I like him, I have hopes for him, but he was woeful last night. 2nd worst player on the pitch was Grujic. Last night was a real chance for him to thrive. He had a lot of experience around him, he was playing against a weakened team and he was playing in his favourite position, but he fluffed his lines bigtime and now we won’t see him again till the FA Cup.
On the plus side from last night, I thought Ward generally looked assured both with his feet and his handling, and is a better bet than Karius. Robbo once again showed why we bought him, so please, Jurgen, play the lad regularly. Phil was awesome in the 45 minutes he played, and boy, do we need him right now. Solanke shows real potential as a leader of the line…would have loved him to have scored last night. He reminds me a little of Rashford….maybe not quite as mobile.
Very disappointing overall, and like the Burnley game, a lack of finishing when we were on top cost us, and once we went behind a worrying lack of fight meant that we were never going to get back in the game. Problems there at the moment.

Like you mwake, I can’t really understand the signing of Ox. He’s a good player, and has the potential to get better, but he’s just not what we needed, unless he is seen as the repalcement for Can if he goes next summer to Juve.
As each game passes, it makes Klopp’s decision not to buy a centre back in the summer even more baffling. If one accepts that each team needs 4 centre backs on their books and of those four centre backs, one has to be the leader of the back 4, like Carra and Hyypia were, one is the ball player who can carry the ball out of defence and start an attack moving, like Hansen, Agger or even Matip, one is the first reserve who can cover either of the first choice positions, and the final one is expecting to only start cup games, maybe 5 or 6 games a season. I would argue that at Liverpool currently we have a No. 2 center back in Matip, a No.3 centre back in Lovren and 2 No. 4 centre backs in Klavan and Gomez. The problem we have is that Matip is first choice, Lovren is second choice and Klavan, through no fault of his own is a first reserve. If Klopp had made up with Sakho, he could have been our defensive leader whose sole priority is to give blood in keeping the ball out of the net or of course if we hadn’t cocked up thhe signing of VVD.
And it pisses me off when I listen to people saying that one new defender won’t sort Liverpool’s defensive issues. No, it won’t, but it’s a bloody start, isn’t it? Klavan nor Lovren are good enough, and therefore Matip is struggling also as he lacks confidence in his partner. FFS, Jurgen keep the same 2 centre backs as much as possible so that they can at least get used to each other.

Big Jim – hi mate. Just seen your comment from yesterday at 6.45pm regarding the media wanting Liverpool to win the league over City a couple of years ago.. Much of what you say is true, but I think the reason for the media bias, and I’m not denying there was some, was more to do with the media wanting a new name on the trophy (ie someone other than Manu, City and Chelsea), and the fact that Liverpool were not one of the mega wealthy clubs, and the fact that we had a British manager, and crucially Steven Gerrard who if he had won the league that year would have given the Press plenty to write about with their ‘local boy wins league’ stories.
It was just the same 2 years ago when Leicester won the league. Spurs played the best football etc etc , but the media and most of the country wanted Leicester to win because they were the underdogs. That’s my reading of what you are talking about, notwithstanding the ex-Liverpool players in the media.

I’m not having that banner! That is either a mischievous Everton or Manu fan doing that. I have not heard of one single Liverpool fan who wants Klopp out. We;re unhappy with aspects of the team without a doubt, we’re unhappy with aspects of our transfer dealings over the summer, I was very unhappy with Klopp’s substitutions on wednesday, but do I, or any of the other Liverpool fans I know want him out? Of course, we don’t

Coutinho got an unexpectedly fantastic reception last night when he came off the bench. It felt a bit f****** weird to me frankly. While I wouldn’t expect or want him booed or any shite like that, to give him a better reception than the players who actually DO want to play for your club sticks in the throat a little.
And he was crap when he came on!!

Somewhat predictably it was my team that let me down on my bet. It’s beyond a joke, our inability to defend. 4 shots and they score from two of them, we have 20 odd and score from two of them. The game was there for the taking. Firmino scores the pen at 2-1 and you would think it would be game over, but the defensive errors just keep coming. Mainly Lovren last night, but again the defence get very little cover from the midfield. Still as 999 says, it’s not a disastrous result, but we SHOULD be in the box seat in this group, just like all the other English teams are. Well done to them (through gritted teeth!)

Yeah, can’t wait. Will be at Anfield tomorrow night hoping for a better performance than Saturday, and indeed a better performance than we gave last time we were in the Champiuons League, when Rodgers couldn’t inspire his team to get out of a group containing such European powerhouses as Basel and Ludogorets.
Have had a small wager on every English team winning their group games this week. Obviously Manu and Chelsea should win comfortably; Man City, after Saturday, must be bursting with confidence, so a trip to Feyenoord shouldn’t hold too many fears for them; it’s Liverpool and Spurs who have the tough games. But both are at home, and Spurs have to conquer the Wembley effect sooner or later. So who will let me down?
