Jim – thought you would come back at me with Sterling scoring yet again for you! I guess we’re both happy with the players we’ve got from each other!
A bit like Sean, I’m not getting carried away, well, maybe a bit more than sean is, but we have a lot of tough games coming up, and we need to get our front 3 firing like they were last season before I get too excited. I’ve a feeling I might come back down to earth on Tuesday evening when we entertain PSG at Anfield. Even with VVD, Allison and Robbo, I’m a little nervous about what Mbappe, Neymar and Cavani could do to us. And then after Southampton next Saturday we have Chelsea and City in successive weeks, so that should sort out the men from the boys.

Been away for 3 weeks so not posted for a while, but back to enjoy our top of the league start without yet hitting top gear. VVD – what a bargain he seems now!
And just to wind Jim up (smiley face!!), Milner yet again our M-o-M

Strange that the two star players of last season, Salah and Kane, were the two on each side who looked the worst players for their respective teams

Jim – it’s unbelievable…an absolute disgrace!

Jim – you can make transfers, you know! I realise it might go against the grain selling KDB, but…!

999 – I really don’t like Redknapp at all, but I really don’t think you can quibble with what he has said above. There are plenty of pundits, ex-Liverpool or otherwise, who fancy Liverpool to give City a closer run for their money than they had last season. What do you want him to do…because he’s an ex-player, rule them out of contention? Every bookie I’ve seen makes Liverpool 2nd favourites, and Redknapp is no different to them.
While I agree ex-players can sometimes make crass comments, this is not one of those occasions. If he’d gloated over KDB’s injury or said he hoped City fail or even that he hoped Liverpool would do it, you could criticise him, but he’s backed up in that article why he believes Liverpool are going to be City’s closest challengers with relevant points i.e. our front 3, the spirit of the players, the stronger back up squad than last season, and the manager.
You’re just trying to start the pundit argument again. Save it for when someone does say something really stupid. You won’t have long to wait, I’m sure!

KDB is one of my favourite players outside of Liverpool, and I’m sorry for him that he will be missing some game time. He seems like a good guy also. It’s a loss to the Premiership as well. However, I read that he is expected back in a couple of months, so let’s get this in proportion, there are many players who are out for much longer who are worthy of plenty of sympathy – Oxlade-Chamberlain being one.
Anyway, I’m not unsympathetic to either KDB or the City fans…as I say he will be missed and I certainly don’t condone any gloating from rival fans. Like Sean though, I think City have enough strength in depth to cope for a couple of months.

Thanks Adlab – like your comment about the CL!! It’s now half my life since we last won the league, and I keep thinking we better get a move on! None of us are getting any younger. Tell you what, you have the CL, and just let us win the league! Which would you rather win? Definitely the league for me!

And sorry, Ed, I’m assuming you’re Chris Beardsley, and as you’re bottom after Week One you will be using lack of sleep with a young baby as an excuse!!

Well, after Week One Nil is top of the league – thank God he’s still banned from here!! (Only joking, Nil, if you’re reading this!).
Would be good if you could identify yourselves with your footy debate name on here. I’m no Hercule Poirot but I’m guessing Goatistuta is Goat the Legend, and Gary Jones is gjblues. I’m Andy Hope! Pax – are you Dan? Which just leaves Andrei – who are you on here, Andri?
Not too late to join if anyone else fancies it…Mav / Jim, it’s really not complicated and a good laugh when you’ve done it!

Cheers Mav and Bricky – yeah, it was a good day today. 56 today which means it is now half my lifetime since we last won the league. Maybe we just win it it every 28 years!!

Well, it’s my birthday today, and my lads entertained me royally at Anfield this afternoon. I know you City boys on here don’t like Milner (for reasons I’ve never entirely understood), but he was just brilliant today. In a team full of flair, glam players, and fancy tricks, I keep thinking Milner’s had his day. But he really is getting better with age, and even with the added competition in our midfield this year, he’ll still play a big part for us this year, I reckon.
So last year’s top 5 all start with a win, with varying degress of comfort. Really fancy us to give City a run for their money this year.
Jim / Mav – did you get signed up for the Fantasy League>

Wow, that was easy…done it!
The code is 2287349-882610, and it’s called the Footy debate league. I’ve started it from Week One, so you need to get your teams in pretty sharpish!

Fullu understand, Ed. It’s a shame, but there you go!
I have a Fantasy Premier League team. Do you want me to set up a Footy Debate league?
