You’re right,Mak, it is a big issue. The game and it’s beauty is largely down to the fact that it is free flowing, fast, passionate…and subject to human error from players and officials. I would far rather have a few tight decisions go against my team than have the game broken up with 2/3 minute delays to check a very marginal offside decision. We’ve all had decisions go against our teams in the past, we have a moan, and we move on (or most of us do, Chucky ??). And the argument that there is now too much money in the game for decisons to be wrong doesn’t wash either. There was too much money in the game last season and we didn’t have VAR and everyone just got on with it. What’s changed? I think it’s going to be farcical and even if it isn’t, it’s going to severely impact on the spectacle, particularly for the matchgoing fan.

I can see your point, but you want to feel your club has at least some ambition. You’ve got arguably one of the better managers around, you’ve got 2 of the better strikers in the Prem, and a sprinkling of some decent younger players as well…you can’t be that far away surely. The danger is with this lack of ambition is that you lose what quality you do have at the club, as they will bugger off to clubs where they feel they have a chance of winning something.

Thought they did really well overall, but were beaten by a better and fitter team on the night. But they have got many more interested in the women’s game, and hopefully will encourage young girls to play. It will be interesting to see if attendances increase next season in the women’s game.

Bloody VAR! Yet again spoiling a game. The right decision but NOT a clear and obvious error. She was offside by the tiniest fraction but decisions like that ruin a games spontaneity. It’s going to ruin the Prem as well next season.

I think some of the football has been pretty good, and the ball is in play a lot more than in the men’s game. They play it around and are not afraid to take risks. Hate to give Phil Neville too much credit, but he is doing a Southgate and getting people behind the team.

I’ll be watching it, Steveo. I really enjoyed the Norway game at the weekend and it would be good to put one over the USA, though my opinion of the USA team did go up when their captain told reporters she wouldn’t visit the f***** White House. Obvious dig at Trump which always scores highly in my book!!

Ffs, 9, Mak’s post was in no way contentious, piss taking or rubbing it in. There is very little to talk about at the moment and as there are no club pages on this site, people have to be able to suck it up a little. Mak’s post was written with humour not malice.
