Very sad news indeed, Nine, about Paul Mariner.
He played in the same team as my Dad at Chorley as an 18 yo back in the early ’70s. I recall Dad telling me that Paul would play at the highest level and that came so true.
RIP and condolences to all his family and close friends._____________________________

Sheikh Mansoor is to pay travel costs to Portugal for all the City fans booking through the official travel outlet. Wonderful gesture.

Give the points to Liverpool and deduct six points from United 😂. That would really make for a tasty last couple of gameweeks.

Apparently United fans planning another protest – just hope they ALL behave this time.

Re the England team, if we’re playing two HMFs (Rice and Henderson) there’s no reason why we can’t play Foden, Mount and Grealish behind Kane.
However, Southgate is not bold enough to adopt that approach so I suspect he’ll go with ‘tried and tested’ from previous. He really should be using the Euros as a stepping stone to the next WC, like the Germans and Italians have done previously and subsequently went on to lift the World Cup._____________________________

Spot on Brian, I think all the players that played against Chelsea last weekend are capable and could quite easily slot into the ‘first eleven’ (loose terminology) and do a decent job individually but as a collective the team is lacking, as in the case of United last night.

Me too Brian. I know the title’s been ‘in the bag’ for a few weeks now but us City fans are a strange breed – if it can go tit’s up, it will do.
It’s still a great, great feeling to be Premier League Champions again – COYB

Blaze mate, not having a go but I didn’t see any of your posts having a go at City for making 9 changes last Saturday.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. Still having to pinch myself that we’ve finally got to a CL final. It was a wonderful team performance, with no stand out – every player was at least 8/10. Hope Adlab was watching and put a big smile on his face.
PSG undoubtedly have some very talented players but once again, as in the first leg, let themselves down with their petulance, and some of their tackles in the last 20 minutes merited more than the ‘yellow’ that was given. Poch has a huge task in trying to mould them into a true team – playing in Ligue 1, where they get their own way in matches most of the time will not help him.
Good luck to Chelsea tonight, and to United and Arsenal tomorrow – two more all English Euro finals will not please UEFA and especially four of the ESL pariahs. 😊

Ed, I wasn’t suggesting anyone’s love for their club should just cease, and yes, everyone (and their tolerance levels) are different. I was making a point that all supporters, if they are so opposed to the Glazers should do something, in whatever small way, that would hit the owners pocket.
Personally, if they owned my club, I probably wouldn’t stop going to support the team but I certainly wouldn’t buy any merchandise or subscribe to any club TV channels. But like you said, everyone is different._____________________________

It appears to me that United fan action against Glazer ownership goes in and out of fashion – dependant upon various issues/events, ranging from poor team performance, poor purchases, annual account publication and ad hoc events like the doomed introduction of the ESL. If MUST had been deadly serious about ridding the club of the Glazers, then a more concerted and constant effort should have have been made from the outset.
It is clear the Glazers have used United purely as a ‘cash cow’, so the main objective should have been to take steps to strangle the club and therefore the owners of cash flow: asking fans not to buy merchandise, not renew STs, cancel subs to MUTV, etc, etc. A neighbour of mine is a massive opponent of the Glazers, he wears his green and gold scarf to every home game (pre-COVID) but he still buys his two sons a new home shirt every year and still renews his ST…..hypocrisy?_____________________________

There seems to be a fair few comments about the Laporte tackles, and for the record, I think both were bookable offences. However, although I’ve not read all the posts, I’ve not seen one yet pertaining to the two ‘bookable’ offences committed by Regulon, one of which he received a yellow.
Not sure Spurs fans can have much argument, that was probably the most one sided cup final I’ve ever seen._____________________________

I’ll not quit ‘following’ City but I’ll almost certainly stop ‘supporting’ them, if they proceed with this SL. By that I mean I won’t renew my ST and not go to watch them live but I’ll still want them to win every game they play.
Instead, I may buy a ST for my non-league club, the mighty Magpies from Chorley._____________________________

Blaze, is that tongue in cheek or are you really serious?
If you are serious, what do you “support” about it?_____________________________
