Point taken about the probable midweek break for MS, Mak. However, the point I made was that to leave him on with United flying on to tackles (‘heads gone’) – think they got another 2/3 bookings after PP was sent off – it was a no brainer to take him off. Can only think it was an oversight by JK. BTW, I do appreciate it’s hard to criticise a manager after you’ve just won 5-0 away at United 😉

Wow, fantastic day for Liverpool, many congrats to their fans on here.
TBH, I don’t think they were at their absolute best today but their finishing was clinical, truly world class, especially MS, who is without doubt the best player in the world at this moment in time.Just a question, you are 5-0 up away from home, playing against 10 men and your star player has already scored a HT. Why did JL not take him off – he could quite easily copped for a ‘Pogba’ tackle or pulled a hamstring and been out for ‘God knows’ how long – poor management by JK imo? The fact he didn’t suffer an injury is not a defence.
Just wonder what the Liverpool lads on think.

I maybe wrong but I’m pretty sure the number of friendly internationals have decreased dramatically since the start of the Nations League, certainly for European countries. From memory, this was the main reason for it’s introduction.

Fabulous game of football. Four genuinely good goals, probably the pick, just, the Salah one. Never thought I’d be disappointed with a 2-2 draw at Anfield but that’s football. I thought we dominated for 75% of the game but we need a striker. Technically superb in the first half and then Liverpool woke up and the second was fairly even.

25th September 2021 at 6:54 pm in reply to: Ryder Cup 2021 24 th September – 26th September Whistling Straits Wisonsin USA #185695This one’s all but done. Too many average putters in the team – Westwood, Hatton, to name two. Also, too many ‘flaky’ temperaments – Fitzpatrick, Hatton (again), very talented golfers but will never win a major. In addition, Harrington picks ‘his mate’, Lowry who not only had no recent form but is a ‘rookie’. Rose would have been a more valid pick, especially as the tie is held in the States.
Regarding the Captain’s picks, I agree we should have six. The reason we don’t is the European PGA tour officials don’t want to devalue their tour. The simple answer would be to have the top six from the European Order of Merit and then allow the Captain six additional picks.
It was always going to be an extremely huge ask to win against the strongest US team they’ve ever put out, away from home and having virtually no support but I would have expected a better showing than we’ve seen thus far._____________________________

A truly wonderful performance by City. Bossed the game from first to last whistle and could and probably should have won by a few more – a 1-0 hammering. Our one touch football and our pass and move were marvellous – City at their best.

I wouldn’t worry about the 3 goals conceded, Brian – no Stones, Laporte or Walker.
What is more of a concern is where is John Stones? Was he on the bench last night or did he pick up an injury in Poland?_____________________________

On the crowd at City last night (and yes I was there), I would say that there were only 27 Leipzig fans (we counted them) in the away enclosure that actually holds about 6,000. Not sure why that was but assume it’s something to do with Covid restrictions in Germany.
Now if they had taken there full allocation, the crowd would have been over 51,000 – only c.4,000 short of capacity. Not bad for a midweek game, IMO._____________________________

Foxy, the Glazers can throw all the (borrowed) cash they want at their ‘project’ but until they employ a decent manager, United will not win one of the bigger comps. Ole is way out of his depth.

Just watched a full match replay of the 2014 LC Final v. Sunderland which we won 3-1. What a team we had starting, with 6 true City legends: Pantillimon, Zabaletta, Kompany, De Michaelis, Kolarov, Nasri, Silva, Fernandinho, Yaya, Dzeko and Aguero.
I did go to the game and remember two outstanding goals from Yaya and Nasri. In fact all four goals were quality. Memories, eh?_____________________________

Yeah, true Sean, in respect of the similarity to the Son one.
The only thing going against him, it looked like VAR looked at the incident and then the ref made his decision……….who knows? Football these days, eh?_____________________________

Decent game to watch from a Liverpool perspective and they really should have been out of sight by HT. Horrendous injury to Elliott and really feel for the lad – sadly looks like he’ll be out for quite a while. Having said that, it wasn’t even a foul (let alone a red card), it was just one of those very unfortunate footballing incidents that have always happened and always will. That clown of a referee took action based on the extent of the injury and not any offence that may or may not have occurred. Leeds really should appeal the red on that basis alone.

Wow, £30m for Dan James.
We did our weekly shop at Sanisbury’s on Saturday and picked up a headless chicken for £9.50, free range as well. Why didn’t Leeds know this?_____________________________

Having watched that ‘tackle’ by Pogba again, and by the laws of the game today, it’s a straight ‘red’, end of – studs up, out of control and over the top of the ball.

In the time you’ve been at your new stadium, Chucks, two seasons I believe, we’ve won a PL title and two League Cups. I’m more than happy to lose the odd battle if we still win the wars 😊

Be very funny seeing United fan reaction if it goes through. My Son’s mate (United fan) just text him “He (Ronaldo) can get to f**k, the bell end”

Nine – nothing like a bit of Agincourt (Henry V) spirit to stir the blood (even more) on such a day 😉
