It was a blatant penalty, Nil. Really can’t see why Taylor didn’t give it on the pitch.

Why do they always do this to us? 2-0 down at HT, we’d surely have taken a point but to have a penalty with 5 minutes remaining, to basically win the title, you can’t ask for anything more.
A nervy week coming up, that’s for sure.

The only think missing Brian is a striker. The amount of balls we play in from wide positions across the six yard area and no one taking a gamble beggars belief. Hopefully the acquisition of a striker will be remedied over the next week, albeit for next season.
Would love us to win the CL or PL but that’s more in hope than expectation at present. I would not at all be surprised if Liverpool won all four; they look so strong and added to that, they are not suffering any injuries.

Thanks Andy. Yeah, we need to catch up.
Think you’ll beat us tomorrow – chances are Walker and KdB wont be playing as they came off injured against AM and Foden took a hell of a battering (but that will stand him in good stead for the future). Also, not sure Pep will risk Dias. We also looked very tired in the second half on Wednesday. So, time to utilise the squad – may see a couple of the youngsters play some part, perhaps Palmer, McAtee or Delap.
Enjoy your day mate, apart from the two hours between 3:30pm and 5:30pm ๐Ÿ˜‰.

No Andy, not going to Wembley this time. Wife’s mother is very poorly so thought it best that I might be needed at home. All my mates are going, they got the free coach travel.
              Are you going mate?

Credit to Atleti, they gave it a real go in the 2nd half and put us under more pressure than any other team this season. However, really proud of my team, defended superbly in a hostile atmosphere and without Dias and losing KdB and Walker to injury.
Shame on one or two of their players and some of the management team, they really belong in a zoo

Who says the FA Cup is dead?
Wonderful performance from Middlesboro and a thoroughly deserved place in the QFs.
If, as Conte said, this is the best squad of players he’s worked with, I’m not sure I’d like to watch his worst.
                  Spurs, absolutely woeful.

Wonderfully entertaining cup final yesterday and a welcome distraction from the terribly sad events unfolding in Ukraine.
I’ve definitely seen worse 0-0 matches.
Congrats to the Liverpool lads on here, especially Andy (Hightown Hope) and commiserations to the Chelsea lads. Don’t think any team deserved to lose.

Ed, if Rangwick gets him working on his distribution, he could well become the best ‘keeper in the world, overall.

Great match to watch (more for the neutral I suppose). That’s what you get when both teams play to win, unlike the City v Chelsea game earlier.
United with far more energy than I’ve seen for some time. This ultimately led to them losing two of the three points, as they tired badly in the last 20 minutes. Still, it’s something for Rangwick to work on. A draw a fair result in the end – this Villa side are sure high on quality in their front six but lacking something in defence.
De Gea again saved United on a number of occasions – he’s the best shot stopping ‘keeper in world football. Where would they be without him this season?

Hi Mak. The only part of Threep’s post (and Ed’s) I labelled “questionable” was the point made, from a Liverpool (and United) fan about current and potentially future lack of competition in the PL, when Liverpool and United have had their periods of dominance previously, when they, financially, were the ‘big fish’.
                          Apologies for any confusion.

Correction to the above, Liverpool won it 11 times in 18 years – my memory wasn’t what it used to be. Apologies to the Liverpool fans.

Posters are obviously within their rights to voice opinion but the validity of comments from United and Liverpool fans about the competition in the PL is questionable – Liverpool won the title 8 times in 17 years in the 1970s and 1980s, and United won it 13 times in 20 years. At that time both clubs could have, pretty much, blown all others out of the water, financially.

Hi Mak. Yep, you’re so right about Ronaldo – he definitely deserves better at this stage in his career, bearing in mind he’s one of the four best players to have ever played the game.
The problem RR has is that he’s obliged to play him in, pretty much, every game and in this country that’s near impossible, even for players in their prime.
I’m sure if he were at City, Liverpool or Chelsea his game time would be managed more sensibly.

“He doesnโ€™t have the players to do it.”
Ed, and therein lies the point I was making.
McT is Championship standard at best – He had a half decent game against Burnley (Burnley, ffs) but I’m sure you’ve heard the saying ‘one swallow doesn’t make a summer’.
Shaw is overweight and gives away too many fouls because of it…..end of.
McGuire – would be three times the payer he is now, under Pep.

United have massive issues both on and off the pitch – in that respect, you are correct in stating “….anyone thinking this was a quick fix was kidding themselves”

Well deserved win for Wolves, better all over the pitch. Game management at the end was excellent.
I’m not sure if RR realises the magnitude of the job required at United but one thing is for sure, he won’t have worked with players with such glaring technical deficiencies as McT, AWB, Phil Jones, McGuire or Shaw (and maybe one or two others) – hell of a long way back for United.

Wow, what a half of football that was. Two sublime goals, both different. The one by Salah was imperious – great ball by AA and Salah’s first touch and finish was special.
