Better from Sterling but still not great. In his defence, I would say he’s playing out of position in this formation. If you really want to see the best of him, I think you need to play a 4-3-3 formation. My team would be Pickford: Walker, Rose, Stones, Maguire: Henderson, Ali, Lingard: Sterling (right), Rashford (left), Kane. Having said that, GS won’t change a winning formation (and who can blame him?), so, hopefully Raheem will ‘grow’ into the tournament and we’ll see improvement from him game on game.
Must say, great win today and very refreshing to go into the last qualifying game without any real pressure._____________________________

Can’t believe ANYONE would want the Germans to win…………………..apart from the Germans. I thought everyone hated them.

Bigger tests to come, no doubt, but the Belgians look good.

I did wonder how this would be taken Nine, and that’s why I posted on the City pages. It certainly wasn’t scripted with the intention you imply but a genuine question.

Hi Jim, great to see you back.
Bluejon, great point made (your last sentence). But as Jim mentioned, it’s what we’ve come to expect from the muppets at UEFA. They really need to grow a pair when making some decisions.
I actually got ‘rinsed’ (only by a couple of the ‘Pool guys) for actually suggesting (somewhat ‘tongue in cheek’) that the first leg should have been replayed for the obvious effect it had on the City players performance._____________________________

26th May 2018 at 10:17 pm in reply to: *UEFA Champions League Final 2018*Liverpool V Real Madrid – Saturday 26 May 7:45 #22222We can talk about the GK mistakes all day long but the pivotal issue was the loss of Salah. Up until then, Liverpool were the better team but from that point on all their confidence seemed to drain and Real’s grew immeasurably. I do think if Salah had stayed on the pitch, Liverpool would have won that game.

Better than the Ronaldo one earlier this year.
Go again Liverpool._____________________________

13th May 2018 at 10:08 pm in reply to: *****Congratulations Manchester City***** Premier League Champions 2018 #21656I will mate. Been very busy last few weeks with work, family and social, as well as re-landscsaping the garden, but that’s now done.
Particularly looking forward to the WC and some golf (majors) and before that, the FA and CL finals._____________________________

13th May 2018 at 9:50 pm in reply to: *****Congratulations Manchester City***** Premier League Champions 2018 #21649Cheers NB.
I celebrated the Jesus goal nearly as much as the Aguerooooooooo one……………………I did say nearly.
It’s only just sinking in what a staggering achievement reaching 100 points is.
This season is now over and we go again in August. But for now, really enjoying the moment.
I strongly suspect next season will be a lot tougher and see Liverpool being our strongest opponent, if they can ditch the inconsistency, especially against the ‘lesser lights’._____________________________

15th April 2018 at 10:16 pm in reply to: *****Congratulations Manchester City***** Premier League Champions 2018 #20400Just a word for Vincent Kompany, lifting his third title after coming through such an injury nightmare.
He might not be a pacy as he was 2/3 years ago but still a wonderful player, captain, leader, person and so humble to boot.

15th April 2018 at 10:01 pm in reply to: *****Congratulations Manchester City***** Premier League Champions 2018 #20399Thanks guys for all the congrats.
Tbh, it feels a bit anti-climatic winning the title without playing but will obviously take it.
As Dr Ian says, I had hoped to do it against United last week and as that didn’t materialise, then beat the Swans next Saturday.
Ah well, back to the beer…..God help me in the morning._____________________________

Wonderful victory and thoroughly deserved.
Bit anxious for first 20 mins of second half but when you look at the stats, Spurs didn’t manage one attempt on goal, let alone one on target.
Great performance against the team that’s only lost one in their last 35 home games….before today that is.

Good point about Delph, Doc. I wouldn’t count Zinchenko out; I think he’s generally done quite well at LB when called upon. I’d rather him than Laporte for tomorrow’s game.
