Threeps – My understanding is that City do have a first refusal/buy-back clause in Sancho’s transfer to Dortmund. Good news for us because he’s developing into a huge talent. He was initially let go because, at 18 yo, we couldn’t guarantee him 1st team football and certainly not ahead of Foden and Diaz. Unfortunately, it looks like we might lose Diaz to RM.

Oz Yob, fyi, City is spelt ‘City’ and not ‘c$ty’.
Just thought I’d mention it.
Hope this helps._____________________________

HNY to all, on this, the best footie site going.
Had a few Woodford Reserves but just read the spat between Nine and Mak. Come on guys, ‘kiss and make up’ – just a misunderstanding as far as I can see – it happens – let’s move on._____________________________

“I still fully expect city to win the league”
You should be a City fan, Sean ?, with that pessimism. I thought United would still win the league last season when we were 13 clear at Christmas.
I can understand it though with, as you said in another post, your recent disappointments.
May the best team, on the day, win on Thursday._____________________________

Nine, certainly with you on that one pal.
Can’t say I’m too optimistic, not with the way ‘pool are playing – they really are awesome at the moment – no real weaknesses apart from, maybe, the lack of a playmaking MF. The offensive side of the their game is now built on power and pace (since Coutinho left) and it’s working a treat for them; they just overwhelm teams.
I’m hoping Klopp plays it a little more circumspect on Thursday, trying to protect his points advantage.
My City team would be Ederson: Walker, Stones, Laporte, LB (God knows): Fernandinho, Silva (D), De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero, Sane.
LB position is a problem at mo with Mendy out and Delph banned. He may opt to play Laporte there and bring in Ottamendi or Kompany.
In truth, although a win would be great, I’d probably take a draw now if offered; 7 points behind with 17 games left is not insurmountable._____________________________

Nine at 8:27.
Pep said that about Fernandinho for yesterday’s game at Southampton. I’d be very surprised if he’s not playing on Thursday – my view is, he didn’t play yesterday because they didn’t want to take a risk with the Liverpool game up next.
City, like a lot of clubs, play the injury situation very close to their chests._____________________________

Just read some of the recent posts on this thread with some interest.
At the moment, Liverpool are playing, without doubt, the best football and are playing with a swagger and a confidence. From that perspective, I do fear the worst for Thursday. Even more so because our defence is nowhere near as good as their’s at this stage.
Having said that, I do think Klopp will play a more conservative match, trying to protect the points lead, which may play into our hands.
The result today should give us a bit more confidence, as said previously, we looked back to our best in patches.
A draw wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. With 17 games still to play anything can happen as it has to us over the previous four games (before today).
The pressure is all on Liverpool but they’ve passed all tests so far and don’t look like letting up._____________________________

Job done. In patches, back to our best and on another day could have had 3/4 more. Managed the game well in the second half.
Sterling MoM imo – excellent going forward and did his bit defensively. Danilo did well too. Good to see Sergio back on the score sheet.
Southampton did their best to add to our injury list.
Big one on Thursday – not necessarily on must win, more a must not lose.

Beaten by another ‘worldie’ but didn’t play particularly well – teams are now learning how to set up and play against us. How can a team with so much talent miss one player to the extent we miss Fernandinho? And Delph, as well as he played last year at left back, has clearly shown some deficiencies this season – at fault for their first and could have conceded another shortly after due to his suspect positioning.
Tall order now……..too tall I suspect, especially the way ‘pool and Spuds are playing. Absolute must win against the scousers next Thursday.

Wow. Only 49 mins gone – Spurs looking fabulous.
This could be any score – I’ll go for 6-2 Spurs._____________________________

Nine, a “quadruple” is on for every team who qualify for four competitions. As a city fan since the 70’s and having been through the thinnest of times following my team, I am just happy when we win any trophy. The treble that United won in 1999, imo, will not be repeated in this country with such a demanding schedule, let alone any team winning a quad.

Lovely goal by Liverpool.
If United don’t wake up this could be any score._____________________________

I can never bring myself to say “I hope United win”, so I’ll have to suffice with “I hope Liverpool lose”
