Ed or Nine, I accidentally clicked to ‘like’ my own comment @ 2:39 (meant to click on Nike’s – now done). Don’t want to appear supercilious 😂 – can this be removed?

Fabulous result for Chorley, even taking into consideration they were playing a team of U23s – they only conceded one attempt on target throughout the match. Chorley also hit the bar and had one cleared off the line.
Always been my non-league club since my Dad played for them in the early 1970s. In normal times (whatever they are) go to watch them four or five times a season.
Not sure I agree with your post @ 1:34, Nine, this is a ‘lifeline’ to some lower and non-league sides in the current climate. Chorley will receive around £140,000 from TV fees and prizemoney just for winning their 3rd round tie; that’s on top of what they received from winning games in rounds 1 and 2._____________________________

There’s reaction and then there’s over-reaction

The Villa ‘babes’ doing alright in that first half – well taken equaliser by Barry. No doubt they’ll tire as the match wears on but they’ve done their club proud. I’ll go 4-1 to Liverpool.

Very polished from City tonight – that’s the type of performance that wins tight CL games. Defence and Fernandinho were outstanding, never gave United’s attack a clear sight of goal and we always looked dangerous going forward. 2-0 a fair reflection of the game.
How was Martial not booked for that pathetic dive to try and ‘win’ a penalty? Perhaps Klopp is right 😉._____________________________

Yeah, he did Brian. To me he seemed to relish the CM role without KdB there and played with a lot more freedom, ie. less negative backwards and sideways passes. He also appeared to get forward a lot more, an archetypal ‘box to box’ performance.

Ed, I may be completely wrong but the evidence points to RA, maybe, mellowing as he gets older. Why would he give Frank such a big budget if he was going to sack him after 12 months (or so)? And especially sanctioning that budget on, in the main, a number of young players.
As I say, I may be wrong but I hope I’m not as I have a soft spot for FL, being one of our former players (albeit for only 1 year)._____________________________

I feel I must take issue with your post @ 6:36pm, Ed.
FL is only in his second full season as Chelsea manager and has only been allowed to buy players in the last 12 months. Come on, cut the guy some slack – he’s young and still learning and so so are a majority of players he has purchased – they are without doubt a very talented bunch. Providing he’s given time, imo he’ll get things right at Chelsea. I also think RA feels this and is tired of swapping and changing managers every couple of years.
Yes, they might not win anything for 2/3 seasons but allowing Frank to develop as a manager and develop his squad, will pay dividends for the club in the long term._____________________________

The 30 mins before HT and 25 after was the best we’ve played so far this season and on another day could have easily had another 2/3 goals. From 70 mins on we just managed the game out, without really looking like conceding.
Dias looks quality and, dare I say it, could be our next Vinny – all through the game he was talking and directing the defence.
Must say, Sterling had a very good game and I don’t think it’s any coincidence that he played on the right – back in our Centurion season, that’s where he played, with Sane wide left – Pep, keep him there.
Big shout also for Bernardo, who has looked back to something approaching his best these last coupe of games.
All in all, a very pleasing performance with everyone contributing. That now has to be the benchmark, going forward, starting at OT on Wednesday._____________________________

Andy (HH), yeah, I realised I’d used incorrect terminology with asymptomatic and too late to edit. What I meant and should have said is that players can have covid without showing any symptoms (very early stages), and therefore still pass the virus on.
Anyway, hope you and yours are all well in these terrible times – a pint in the Boundary Stone seems light years away at this stage mate._____________________________

I echo what Adlab posted @ 6:53pm (to the word). And that’s the end of the matter as far as this “fucking idiot” is concerned 😉.

“Also read that the Premier League rules state that a game can only be postponed if a team has less than 14 first team players available”
Threeps, I feel you are completely missing the point – City could well have fielded a team but how the F*** does anyone know if those players that played were Asymptomatic or not. If any were and then passed on Covid to the Everton players, Everton would be in exactly the same position as us.
Just in case you didn’t know, this virus is very contagious._____________________________

Spot on Adlab, very disappointing reaction from Everton – forever the poor relations on Merseyside. And not a single word of well-wishing to the City staff who have been infected.
What on earth would they have had to say had City not notified the Premier League and gone ahead with the fixture, and then passed Covid on to the Everton squad?_____________________________

Hopefully everyone makes a full recovery.
Pretty sure the game at Chelsea, United in LC semi final and 3rd round of FA Cup, v Brum will also be called off.
The next potential game for us will be Brighton at home on 13/1/2021; that’s providing no further positive tests. Fixture nightmare._____________________________

Good points regarding Foden, Brian.
Good win last night, without ever really looking in trouble – Arsenal had a 10 minute spell just after they equalised but overall I thought we controlled the game and could have scored a couple more goals (but that’s just being greedy).
Energy levels look to be on the up with our pass and move game a lot quicker now. A shout for Bernardo, who’s looked much sharper the last couple of games – just hope he keeps it up._____________________________
