I know the rules on handball changed, but that goal was ridiculous. I support the accidental ones where they deflect accidentally onto the hand, that I am fine with. But the Boro goal was down to a really shit touch, nothing accidental about it. Should have been a Manure freekick.

Man U really missed Greenwood, he would have been perfect in a knockout comp

No, in a traditional midfield three in a 433 system, you have:

          RB—–CB—–CB——LB
          ———-DM———–
          ——8—————-
          ————10———
          -RW—————–LW-
          ———-S————

There’s been a recent trend that variates that 433 to look like this and what ManU have been operating under Ole:

          RB—–CB—–CB——LB
          ——–DM—DM———
          ————————
          ———-10————
          -RW——————LW-
          ———–S————

When they put those formations on the TV they look like a flat midfield, for graphic purposes, but the above is what they teach you on all the official licenses

Sean, I think Donny is not DM, whether that is McFred type role or part of a 3. Donny is an 8 in a midfield 3, essentially box to box or an 8 in a 442 in the style of a Scholes role, slightly more advanced, but not quite a 10. I think he and Dele could complement each other really well as Dele is definitely a 10, especially if Everton use a midfield three of Doucoure, Donny and Dele

EA Sports have already removed him from Fifa 22. He’s been transfered to Grand Theft Auto instead

Sean, I disagree. Donny is an 8 not a 10

betting that Xhaka is gonna get booked is a bit like betting on Man U getting a flukey penalty awarded

One thing is for sure and that is that Newcastle are going to have to make a shitload more signings if they want to have a chance to stay up. Their defence and midfield is awful! Goes to show how good a job Bruce was doing all those years! That win against Leeds was highway robbery!

Salah is an interesting one in my opinion. On his day, he’s unplayable. However, he has also been very inconsistent too, he has a lot of games where he is anonymous. For me, if it’s a front three, I have Salah, Son and Antonio, with Vardy close behind

Yeah, Nil you’re confused dude. The poll is team of the FIRST HALF of the season. Using examples from last season why Alison should be in this team is irrelevant. It’s all about performances this season. Alison is an incredible keeper, just like I think Fabinho is right up there too, but unfortunately this season I think there are many other players that have outperformed them in those positions. No one is trashing your players!

                              yeah, Ed. That’s harsh!

At the start of the season, after you guys signed Ronaldo, most people on here said Ole had no excuses and now had a squad that should be challenging for the league. Spurs really only have two really class players in Son and Kane. What he’s already achieved at Spurs with limited resources is far greater than Ragnick has with a crazy squad

I reckon Ramsdale has gained Arsenal about 10 points this season. The very fact they are/were top 4 over recent weeks and are clearly only a top 10/8 team shows how valuable Ramsdale has been. I really don’t think any other keeper comes close in terms of direct impact of points on their team.
Agreed about Alison, should be nowhere near this discussion based on his performances this season. As for Fabinho, I really rate him, but again based on performances this season, sorry I can’t see it!

In the City squad, bearing in mind the amount of rotation that squad gets and therefore players don’t get to play as many games as a lot of other team’s players, I would select Cancelo and Bernardo based on performances and number of.
Edison may have more clean sheets, but he’s also playing in front of one of the best back lines. Ramsdale would probably sneak that position for me.

Yep, I’ve long held that same view of Henderson too. He’s a hard worker, I’ll give him that but very unremarkable. Klopp loves his work horses in midfield, doesn’t need them to be a classical ball-playing midfielder. That’s why I was so curious when they signed Thiago as he goes against every other style of midfielder he has

I’ve never bought into the hype around Coutinho. I mean he is incredible at scoring screamers from outside of the box, but other than that I don’t see (and never did see) what all the fuss is about.
He is yet another piece of proof to me that Klopp is just incredible at getting the most out of players. Klopp makes players play above their class. I also never bought into the whole “Gini is world class” hype. I think he was a good player, but pool fans were lauding him as world class and one of the best in the world. Since leaving pool, he’s gone the same way as Coutinho and just continues to make me keep that belief about Klopp. If we look at it from the other way around, I never thought much of Ox (I still don’t to be fair) at Arsenal, but Klopp has him playing the best he ever has.

As for the season being over, no way! Both Chelsea and Liverpool are very capable of taking wins off City and as the relegation battles get more interesting those teams will give the title race teams a hell of a fight every now and then
