During the first half yesterday, Spurs outplayed United in terms of possession, but never really threatened in the final 3rd. United were on the back foot because they could not get hold of the ball.
I would say this sides style of play with the exception of the Liverpool game has been on par with the Cantona era. At times good to watch, but nothing spectacular. Ferguson sides played good football, but he also had phases when he didn’t for example his first 4-5 seasons, his final 4-5 seasons and between 03-06.

How many United games have you watched this season Jim?
United have been far from being negative or boring. They have won a fair few games 4 nil, outplayed most oppositions with the exception of Liverpool and Huddersfield. In comparison to City, their football has not been on par, but no other side have matched City’s style of play this season.
Yesterday in the 2nd half, United outplayed Spurs, testing Lloris numerous times, hitting the post. United have been far from negative or boring. They are the 2nd highest gold scorers in the league so far, outscoring Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool who are known for playing good football. A negative boring side would not have that stat to their name.

Brian-
Your opinion, who will Foden replace in this City squad? Pep has openly said he rates Foden, but if City do bring in Sanchez, then they will have Jesus, Aguero, Sane, Sterling, B Silva, D Silva, De Bruyne and Sanchez in the squad. What Pep needs to do is loan him out to a PL club for a season or 2 and when it comes time for David Silva to move on, then bring him.
The standard of quality from under 17 level to PL level is obviously big, especially with top 6-8 clubs. Foden needs to adapt to the league and develop, rather than be stuck in the sidelines or under 23 for so long.

For the first time since the golden generation of Terry, Neville, Rio, Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes and Rooney I feel confident about the national teams future. Some brilliant young players.
Foden, Brewster, Hudson-Odoi, Sancho have got a bright future in the game. The main issue is they need to be given a chance. I can see Brewster coming in to the first team at Liverpool and Foden looks like a long term replacement for Silva. Hudson-Odoi looks like a gem of player and there were many more. Unfortunately instant success is the focal point of football today and not many managers are willing to take risks with youngsters unless they have to because of injuries.

Missed the celebrations after leaving the room and returning to see that Gardner’s world is on. Turns out you had to press red to watch the celebration. What is the point, replacing the best thing to happen to these youngsters with some crap gardening show.

Today is the first time this month United are going to be playing at home and today is the first time City are playing away this month. Where’s the conspiracy in regards to that? If United had 4 games at home on the trot and City had 4 away games on the trot, I can imagine a fair few would have a moan and cry conspiracy.

Banjo-
Before the 70s you never really got sides that dominated like Liverpool and Manchester United with the exception of Arsenal in the 30s. In the 60s you had 8 different teams who won the league and in the 50s you had 6 teams who won the legaue with Wolves and United winning 3 each. Compare that to the 70s where Liverpool won 5 league titles and 80s where they won 6, then to the 90s where United won 6 and the 00s where they won 5.

Football is only a game. There are more important things in life than football. There’s nothing wrong with showing passion towards a team you have followed and supported throughout your life, but when you get to a certain age, you tend to grow out of caring after the final whistle.
Just like life, your football team have ups and down. But unlike life, there is nothing you can do about your football team with the exception of continuing following and supporting the side and hope the good times arive or return.
You seem to wear your heart on your sleeve when it comes to Liverpool football club, be thankful that you are supporting a club that has given you so much joys, there are plenty of football fans who would love to follow and support a team with the prestige of Liverpool when it comes to trophies won.

I also do not understand the Keita signing for 60m. He is a box to box midfielder like Henderson, but is most likely going to replace Wijnaldum or Lallana in the midfield 3. Demme is RB Leipzig’s defensive and holding midfielder and very good one too. Keita is not a player that Liverpool need in order improve in their final 3rd, as they are very good there already. It will still leave the same gaping holes and vulnerability of mistakes with him in the side today.

There is Dave Wagner or although very unlikely, Marco Silva.
Cannot see them going for Big Sam. With the money behind them now, they will most likely go after someone who is pretigious or young and up and coming like Wagner and Silva.

Not sure why Klopp needs to be felt sorry for.
He has had 4 windows, brought in 10 players(5 attacking players and 5 defensive players).
His cheapest attacking player removing Solanke is 25m and his most expensive defensive player is 10m. That sums his philosophy up, he is building a side from the front and neglected the defence. Why couldn’t he spend the Chamberlain money, a player that was not needed on Davidson Sanchez, a player that was. People blame FSG, the money is obviously there if they can spend 35m on Chamberlain, yet was not spent on the right position.

He is out for a month and we will find out soon enough Jim.
Fair points Chris. Got to admit I was excited when he arrived, but he comes across too much of a luxury and flamboyant player, that lacks consistency. It is games like the ones against Stoke that I expected him to grab the game and show what he is capable of, something Keano did for us, Gerrard did for Liverpool etc. You’re right about his comparison to Yaya Toure, he got going in his late 20s. Perhaps Pogba needs a few more years.

Carragher made a point a while back. Is Klopp tactics the issues or the players. He point out that even with VVD, the same mistakes will materialise. All he is going to do is replace someone’s position and cover the same area as the player he is replacing, especially with set pieces and opposition will have the same opportunity. I believe it is more tactical and training, than the players.

What a shocking website now. It seems like the site was developed by someone who used the WordPress for dummies book.
Struggled to logon for months and just packed the whole site in. Do not bother reading it now.
