Sterling for Sancho

My concern is we are going for players who some top teams see surplus to requirements. I am happy with De Ligt because he is better than the CB we already have, but you ask why did Bayern let go so easily. Same with the full back they sold us. Ugarte is not wanted at PSG, yet United want him.
Ten Hag says we need a player like De Jong in order to play the style he had at Ajax. So why didn’t he go for Zubimendi who has a similar style to De Jong. Ugarte isn’t that type of player. He literally has 0 trust in any other players besides from the ones he previously has managed.

So the ref in the Ipswich Vs Manchester City gives City a penalty, but doesn’t give Ipswich a penalty for the exact same challenge.
Remember when Onana should have conceded a pen last season against Wolves and it was spoken about for weeks. United struggled to get another penalty after.
Wonder how much clubs pay for PR.

Not convinced by Ugarte. Watched him against Newcastle last season and he was all over the place. Had a extremely poor game. If PSG or any big club want to get rid of you at the age of 24, then something isn’t right.
Just play Toby Collyer, who looks promising.
Use that £50m on a striker instead. Get Toney in.

Bizarrely I was the saying the same when Ole was in charge and when Jose was in charge. It takes the opposition 3-4 successful passes to get in to the United half and threaten with a chance, whilst United are extremely slow with their build up, too afraid to take a risk and easy for the opposition to set up defensively. It has been going on for years.
In midfield we had Casemiro, Mainoo and Bruno/Mount. Mount/Bruno played as a false nine. What you’re suggesting Banjo is there, it is just the same story and this has been going on for years.

I thought Mount did well. So did Bruno. Amad was ok. Rashford was shit. Should have sold him when he asked for £350k a week on the back of 1 good season.

United were terrible and only performed well for 20% of the game.
Brighton easily cut through at times and Welbeck hit the bar, with Milner having a chance cleared off the line. At the end only one side showed a winning mentality and were pushing for a winner.
It is the same shit for the last 10 years regardless who the manager is. Too many average players and no leaders. Unlucky with the offside goals, but I cannot remember United testing and creating many chances.
Everything just looks disjointed.

Are we going to have another Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes situation.
Try to play them all, rather than pick players who are suited to a system.

Gundogan back at City.
Barcelona are a strange club. Buy players who they cannot register.

Reckon United will lose against Brighton. They seem to have our number over the years regardless who their manager is.

Todd Boehley clearly doesn’t know what he is doing. How many players in the same positions do you need? Yet reluctant to buy a striker.

Sean-
Not having a pop at Liverpool. I just believe some top teams get the rub of the green against lesser sides for some reason. I watched the 1st half and noticed some Liverpool challenges were going unpunished, whilst Ipswich were getting a yellow card.
City and Arsenal are the worse when it comes to tactical fouling, yet their players never get punished for it. It has been going on for years and I am surprised it has not been clamped down on or spoken about more.

How does a side commit 18 fouls and only end up with 1 yellow card, that being in the 95th minute, compared to a side who commited 9 fouls and who end up with 3 yellows.
Liverpool commited twice as many fouls than Ipswich in the first half, yet Ipswich ended up with 3 yellows and Liverpool with 0.

Happy with the De Ligt signing. Better than who we have at CB besides from Martinez. Get rid of Maguire and Lindelof, along with Sancho and McTominay. Get in a solid DM.

The Athletic has now explained the verbiage used. The term “exceptional” in this instance does not imply any special treatment – merely it is a term that is used by clubs in their accounts to explain costs that aren’t regular.
Per football finance expert Kieran Maguire, United have to declare their losses related to Covid because they are listed on the New York Stock Exchange and therefore must disclose more information. The £40m loss is attributed to the club cancelling their 2021 summer tour, debts incurred from commercial partners, United being unable to fulfil certain sponsorship obligations and rebates owed to broadcasters.
While United had to share their losses in publicly-available accounts, The Athletic’s report reveals that their Premier League rivals used a private method to submit details of Covid-linked losses. Clubs were allowed to incorporate the financial impact of Covid in their PSR calculations, which explains how United and others were able to avoid being penalised.
That £1m was a made up figure. We do not know what other clubs were paid too.
Some ex City guy says something because he cannot accept the charges he ex club is facing and is now taking nonsense and taking things out of context to divert the attention.

1st August 2024 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Very Tough Times In Experience in Living in England, The Country I Love #215181If you want to know how toxic social media is, just observe the last few days. Grifters spreading misinformation on the back of a horrific tradegy to spread more hate.
Ironically these so called patriots who go around destroying towns and city’s, then claiming migrants and immigrants are ruining the country, leaving places in a mess. Who cleaned up the mess and damage they left behind in Southport? It was a community with people from all backgrounds.
