George Floyd wasn’t murdered last year or the year before, Breonna Taylor wasn’t killed last year or the year before after being shot 8 times when plain clothes police officers incorrectly entered her house and then arrested her boyfriend for retaliating thinking they were intruders, to this day they still have not been charged, Ahmoud Albery wasnt killed last year or the year before, taking 3 months for the culprits to be charged, a woman ringing the police and falsely accusing a African American man of threatening her life didn’t happen last year or the year before. How much more do people need to take?
Oh, when Karens take a walk with their dogs off leash in the famous Bramble in NY’s Central Park, where it is clearly posted on signs that dogs MUST be leashed at all times, and someone like my brother (an avid birder) politely asks her to put her dog on the leash. pic.twitter.com/3YnzuATsDm

A few weeks ago there were anti lockdown protests all over Europe and America, people were having street parties on VE day, people have packed beaches when there has been good weather, the PM supported his right hand man when he was bent the rules and many more examples. People have literally stopped caring as time has progressed.

Brian-
I believe it down to when these things are happening too. 1 side is protesting when the lockdown rules have been eased, schools have reopened, more shops are opened and more people are returning to work.
Whilst the others and Cummings did it prior. Cummings bent the rules a week after the PM announced the whole country was going in to lockdown, which he help apply and then went to “check his eye sight” with his child in the back of the car on his wifes birthday and whilst the we were at our peak of the virus.
This just shows lack of leadership. Now there is talk of track and trace not being ready till September with the app being broken, 1 of the key things which allowed lockdown to be eased.

Years ago, a former work colleague of mine, knew a few who worked for Liverpool. When Clyne was going through his injury spell, people were crying out for Klopp to a buy a new RB. Klopp refused because he trusted someone in the ranks who could come through and take that spot long term. The rest is history. Klopp looks at the bigger picture. Werner is a quality signing for Chelsea if it goes through. Something tells me Klopps wants Havertz more because of how versatile he is.

Chucky-
Imo he benefited last time because people thought they were voting for the lesser of the 2 evils. Some democrats voted for him because they didn’t want Hilary as president. Will be interesting this time round. I reckon he will win it again. Biden is Obama v2, people will just reflect back on the Obama days and vote for Trump.

Sadly in recent weeks, people have stopped caring about lockdown rules and have openly shown it. You see people on beaches, parks, protesting. They stopped giving a shit pal. In the UK, whether this is a knock on effect after what Cummings did, who knows. But over here and in the US, along with a few other places, they have literally lost their grip in controlling the whole situation. Madness.

Unfortunately these protests have happened during a pandemic and whilst we are in a lockdown. But I am not sure what is the best way to sure your anger after the recent number of incidents. George Floyd situation was tip of the iceberg in a spate of recent invents in America.
Breonna Taylor was killed after 3 plain clothed police officers entered her home without a warrant, searching for drugs and not knocking and introducing themselves, she thought they were intruders, she used her legal firearm, which resulted in the officers shooting her 8 times, her boyfriend tried to retaliate and because he reacted, he was charged with attempted murder. The 3 police officers escaped punishment. This happened in March.
Ahmaud Arbery was killed after 2 individuals, 1 being a ex police officer thought he was a burglar in the area. The 2 individuals chased after him and because of his panic, he tried fighting one of them off. Resulting in the other shooting him dead. This happened in February and up until recently the case was dropped.
You then had a woman who was in a park with her dog and a man politely asked her to put her dog on a leash which by law she should have done. She then rang the police and told them that a ‘African American’ was threatening her life, when he did no such thing. It was all caught on camera. This happened a few weeks ago.
You also have a president who called a bunch of armed white men ‘very good people’ after they stormed in to a Michigan capital building, verbally being aggressive towards officers, resulting in the building being shut down for the day after they protested over the lockdown rules. Yet when Black NFL players protested over injustice towards black people by kneeling, he called them sons of bitchs, who should be kicked out. Then in reaction to the recent protests, quoting a racist police officer who was known to openly disdain black people, by saying ‘when the looting starts, the shooting starts’. What happened when he made those comments, some people started looting. There’s only 2 people who have used that phrase, 1 being a racist police officer and the other being the president of the US. When being questioned, he then played dumb and pretended he didn’t know where it came from.
Absolute shambles. Need someone to pull the country together after recent events. You have that clown in office.

Fair point Mikus.
I believe what some nations did well is how quickly their government acted. Japan, South Korea, Germany, Denmark, New Zealand and many others were on top of it right away, they either went in to lockdown or had strict rules in place.
Whilst the UK, Belgium, US, Russia, Brazil, along with many others left it late. The delay of 2-3 weeks took its toll on the population. Sweden is another example, they are now paying the consequence, with their elderly population suffering quite heavily due to the countries approach.

There has been a lot of conflicting information being passed around, which has confused the general public.
Denmark reported that there was no transmission of the virus around schools, yet south korea have closed schools because there is.
I read an article which mentioned how Cheltenham and the Atletico Liverpool game spread the virus, both outdoor events, yet Mikus’s article is saying the contrary.
A few scientists have said this could burn itself out like sars, yet others are saying it is still something serious and will be around until we get a vaccine.
I know someone who has had it, he went to the supermarket on good friday, queued for 20 minutes, gave up after noticing people were not sticking to the social distancing rule, went back to his car and started getting symptoms a week or so later. Thankfully recovered and didn’t need hospital treatment.

Although me and mac had our fair share of heated debates especially during the Van Gaal era, majority of the time it was just exposing our love for the club. He was being a bit more realistic, whilst I was being optimistic. I started reading the forums more during lockdown and whilst I am working from home, just to check up on how things are with you guys. When I read the news in regards to Mac, I just could not believe it and then it hit home. It was only last summer we exchanged a rational debate when I went back to teamtalk for a short period.
Even though we don’t know each other personally, it feels like I do at times, just by the time and years we have spent together on these forums, if that makes sense. Hope all is well with you guys.

Hi everyone
Hope you all are well..proper mad few months and it looks like things are picking up in baby steps. Not sure if it is the right call to play out the season, reckon we should be preparing for next season and cancelling this season.
For 1 season, scrap the CL and EL and have the top 7/8 play in a European knockout style competition, played across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in a FA Cup type format if it os safe to do. Teams who have come 5th-7th/8th play in the 1st round, teams who have come 3rd/4th start playing in the 2nd round and top 2 start playing in the 3rd round. If that makes sense.
Moving on to a bit of sad news. A regular poster on teamtalk called MacGuffin passed away several months ago. He has been posting on there since the late 90s and was a dedicated poster. May he rest in peace.
