1 thing United have not done over the years since Ferguson is give a young up and coming manager a chance. They went with the established and experienced and all have failed.

Interesting discussion on talk sport. Some Spanish dude said Amorim and Alonso have a similar style of play. Both like to play with 3 at the back and utilise wing backs. Reckon both rejected some club because the club didn’t have a pot to piss in and didn’t want to be controlled by some committee. It could not be down to style, if their number 1 choice plays a similar formation to their number 2 choice.

What a absolute smug post by someone who supports a so called big club that has only delivered 1 league title in 34 years.
All because I made a comment about Liverpool needing to resort to their 3rd or 4th choice to replace Klopp.
Glad you’re aware that this season is only 9 games old. Spurs were league title contenders 10 games in last season.
Like I said let’s see how the yes man does when the transfer committee expects him to develop the next Salah or Van Dijk, when he has players forced on to him.
Edit: I know United are in a sad state of affairs. I have only been talking about it the last year.

Understand this thread is about Ten Hag and his successor. But I will make 1 last point. I believe Klopp was a better manager than Pep. The only difference both had was strength in depth. One got backed, whilst the other had to work miracles. Klopp has left Slot a decent side, but the best players are ageing. If Slot has the same tranfers restraints to Klopp, then Liverpool are in trouble imo. Klopp is an elite manager, the jury is out on Slot. Liverpool’s transfers the last 2-3 years have been questionable and you’re relying on Van Dijk and Salah to perform in order to win games. You also do not have a 100m plus player anymore to help buy players. In today’s game only a manager like Klopp can work under those circumstances. In the end it took a toll on him.

Looks like it is Ruben Amorim.
39 years old. United’s 2nd youngest ever manager behind Busby. Let’s hope he is just as successful.

I always said if Ten Hag had the right structure in place, then he would have succeeded. The reason why he brought in so many ex players is because United did not have footballing people in place when he arrived and had to rebuild a broken squad, so he turned to who he knew. United have been a shambles for years when it comes to transfers, who they signed under Ten Hag and those signings not succeeding isn’t a new thing, it happened under Ole, Jose, Van Gaap and Moyes too.
It is working for Liverpool now, but soon you will have to replace the likes of Salah, Van Dijk, Trent(if he doesn’t sign a deal). That will be the real test and there are not players like them. This structure of not allowing the manager decide who comes in will only work to an extend. If Liverpool pick up some injuries to key players, then people will look at last summer and ask why didn’t the manager get backed.
Serious question, does Slot have a final say on who Liverpool sign or not?

It will come to a time when certain players will need to be replaced and Slot will want to have a say. The players he has taken on were developed by Klopp and took years to bring together. Let’s see how Slot does when he brings his own players in. United needed a rebuild and Ten Hag walked in to a toxic culture, Liverpool didn’t and had a settled side.
If Amorim got control over transfers, he would be Liverpool manager today. Slot was thought about after. Liverpool just took on a yes man.

2-3 years time. He has no charisma and no identity. He isn’t getting the best out a 30 year old Rashford, after Rashford performed well for 4 months and was awarded a new 600k a week contract.

Is he the one who rejected Liverpool so they could appoint their ever charismatic 4th choice Arne Slot.

Whoever decides to come in will have the same problems as the previous 6 managers. 2 years time, we will be talking about lack of charisma and how the club does not have a identity.
If these twats start performing now, it just proves they are only playing for themselves.
These cunts have accomplished nothing in the game, yet they believe they are entitled.Shambles of a club.

If you want to witness how corrupt our officials are, look at the penalty United conceded this afternoon.
City owned Oliver clearly pressurised the on field official to give that.
The game is done.

How has that been given a Penalty?
Officials are a fucking disgrace. City bought Oliver should not be anywhere near United games.

Madness to think that if Chelsea lose to Newcastle and United beat West Ham, United will be level on points with Chelsea.

Away from the PL.
How ruthless do Barcelona look. They played 6 academy players yesterday and a 17 year old at CB. Put 4 past Real at Reals own ground.
Real look lost with Mbappe in the side.

25th October 2024 at 9:14 am in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #216105Shocking wasn’t it Sean.
Being outplayed by a Jose side in that 1st half. 2 ex United rejects bossing the midfield.

United will be on 23 titles Nil, Liverpool on 22.
2012, 2018, 2021 for United
2014, 2019, 2022 for Liverpool.
This is irrelevant though, City will get away with it. 1 organisation is never going to beat a state ownership.

Yup. A close friend of mine who is a massive United fan works in a School. He said that the current year 7 were not even born when Manchester United last won the league. That is how quick time goes.

Arne Slot has proved me wrong so far. Liverpool took a risk, but that risk is paying off. He had big shoes to fill when he arrived, yet has been extremely sensible with his approach. Like the saying goes the best defense is a good offense.
