Sean-
I would sell Rashford. He is clearly talented, but blows hot and cold far too often. Has only had 1 good season.
He is on over 300k a week and has not accomplished anything in the game. That is not down to him, but the club itself. Salah is on not much more than Rashford and looks at the comparison. Same with De Bruyne. Both are 5 years older, imagine what Rashford would be earning at their age, he knows how the club is being run and has exploited it.
Unfortunately this is the mismanagement of the club over the years, where players are given lucrative contracts because they are the 1 of the “best” players at the club, rather than the best players in the league.

If City get done for lack of cooperation with a limited fine, doesn’t that open a can of warms. Considering clubs have had points deducted for cooperating and followed the protocols after being asked to cooperate.
Does that mean in order to escape significant punishment, you just do not cooperate.

Adlab-
City failed to cooperate with the PL and also Uefa when being asked to.
City were found guilty by Uefa and had their CL ban reduced to a substantial fine instead. They only escaped because of a technicality.
City commercial revenue is laughable and is larger than some of the biggest clubs in the world. How is that possible?
They then need 30 lawyers to help them weasel their way out of this. Certainly sound innocent to me.
Der Spiegel released emails of City cheating and inflating their revenue. City have never denied these emails ever being fake and have said their were criminally obtained.
But City say they are innocent, the only arguement City fans have to claim they are innocent.

Don’t blame Nil at all. He is clearly passionate about his club and has recently witnessed his club go through it’s most successful spell in 30 years. He wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to Liverpool and over the years, the club has built a rivalry against City.
If City didn’t break rules, then Liverpool would have won a lot more. Pep would not have the financial advantage he had during his early years at City and probably would not have been as successful, we all know he would not have been at City if he didn’t have the advantage he did.
Difference between City and Liverpool has been, one club has been built on morals, whilst the other has been built on sport washing, cheating and is a PR marketing tool for the UAE. They literally sold their soul and the hypocrisy of most of their fans who once were telling people they were the real Manchester club is there for us all to see.

Isn’t Nagelsmann the manager of the German national side.

Reflecting back on when Sir Alex retired, it is interesting who Liverpool go for. I believe there isn’t many elite managers out there. Ancelotti being the only manager who I believe could continue the success for a few more years, but he is at Madrid and is not a realistic option. When Sir Alex retired, United had the options of Klopp, Pep, Jose and Ancelotti.
It seems like the quality of managers has diminished over the years.

Not many managers around to replace him. Not sure who they could turn to. Alonso will be too soon.

This has come out of the blue.
Has something happened? He signed a new contract until 2026.

Been watching Afcon. What stood us how competent the officials are and how well managed VAR is. How the fuck do officials in the PL get it wrong?

If the shoe was on the other foot, they would be stonewall in your world.

Didn’t United have 3-4 players missing yesterday and have they not been without a stable back 4 and midfield all season? Martinez, Casemiro, Shaw, Eriksen, Maguire, Mainoo have been out long term this season.
How quickly does the narrative change when certain other clubs have injuries. How many times has it been mentioned Spurs have been without a number of players pre and post match. The excuses were already out.
Could be worse, we could become Spurs fans and moan about the 2 stonewall penalties United should have got this season for the next decade, but we move on and have got better things to do.

Noone has hacked my account.
1 of the reasons why I have Van Dijk as 1 of the best CBs ever and in my top 5 greatest PL players is what he brought to Liverpool.
Liverpool were averaging 75 points and he arrived and they were instantly competing against City, who set the benchmark of 95 points+ to win the league. No CB or player has added that to a club. City were blessed with many quality players. So were Liverpool with Mane and Salah, but Van Dijk took them to a different level where he gave them an extra 20+ points. Without him, City would have ran away with league titles every season, that’s how good Van Dijk is and was during those seasons.
Agree about longevity, Van Dijk peaked fairly late in his career, but no CB can close to him during his peak years.

Ally McCoist must be drunk. Newcastle denied a stonewall penalty there.

Agree both.
I don’t think there’s bias from refs towards certain teams, unless your refereeing in the Saudi pro league or UAE pro league and on the City and Newcastle owners payroll:)
Joking aside, in my opinion there isn’t an excuse to make so many mistakes and be inconsistent, especially when you have something in place to help you out.
If they can get it right at international level during major tournaments, why can’t they in the PL. All VAR has done is open a can of worms with the way it has been implemented by our refs.

But wasn’t VAR job to remove these inconsistent call. I reckon refereeing has got a lot worse since VAR has come in.
Dalot is another example, he was booked twice with a space of 10 seconds for dissent. Which is fair enough, the same game, Nunes kicked the ball away after he was given a yellow for fouling Evans, sarcastically clapped the ref and no 2nd yellow. I have seen other games where players have reacted the same, yet nothing given.
Refs with the support and technology in place, should not be getting these calls wrong.

Mikus-
The main issue I have is I have seen those incidents not given. It is just inconsistency.
Here is another example
The same bloke said this wasn’t given because it was too close though https://t.co/WS3U0b6O1P pic.twitter.com/qBttYWGGxo
— Si Lloyd (@SmnLlyd5) December 28, 2023
It is not just different refs having different opinions. It is also the inconsistent of the same ref awarding 1 incident and turning a blind eye to the exact same incident weeks later.
If it was a 1 off then fair enough. But it is regularly happening.

After watching the Jota penalty again. I find it baffling how even with technology in place, that isn’t considered simulation.
Almost every single person who has contributed to this thread has said it wasn’t a penalty. Yet officials some how believe it was. That is why I believe corruption is involved.
Not just going by yesterdays incident, but many others throughout the years since VAR has been in place. English football is only where controversy seems to be attached to it.
