Nil-
I said over the summer, Liverpool got rid of the wrong player. Salah is not a team player, Mane has more to his game too. They could have got more for Salah and used the funds on a few players.

21st January 2023 at 10:26 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 21 – All Good Games :-) #203186This league campaign in general has been a bore fest imo. There just seems to be a lack of urgency from most sides and the World Cup distraction probably played a part. It is only half way, but imo the worst league campaign I have seen in a while. Give it march and most things will be settled. Teams looks like they are performing like they usually do when they have nothing to play for and are ready to go on their holidays.

I will settle for Ratcliffe.
Still reckon it is a smokescreen after the Ronaldo interview and they will give some PR saying nobody matched their valuation.

Maybe he should have hired 30 lawyers to give him a helping hand for the injunction to last.

They should have hired 30 lawyers, dragged it on by delaying it and then got away with it because of a technicality. Would have looked dubious, but it seems to work.

15th January 2023 at 1:53 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 20 – Manchester and London Derby #202987I am surprised more players have not exploited this rule more over the years. reading the rules, there seems to be a contradiction when it comes to offside as well.

15th January 2023 at 7:13 am in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 20 – Manchester and London Derby #202969Liverpool should aim to get Declan Rice in imo.
I believe Thiago is a quality player, I just donβt think he suits Kloppβs football. He is a Pep type of player rather than a Klopp type of player.
But I also agree with Sean, Liverpools problems seem bigger than that.

Mad spending by Chelsea.

Fair dos in regards to Thiago.
Whenever I think of Klopp style of play. I think of the electric football and a lot of energy being instilled. This Liverpool side lacks that, especially in midfield. That why I believe Thiago is not a Klopp type of player. But I will admit I have not seen enough of him at Liverpool to judge that. I saw him a fair few times for Bayern and he sat in front of the defence pinging the ball about.

14th January 2023 at 5:05 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 20 – Manchester and London Derby #202912Liverpool will come good, I believe Thiago is a problem for them. He is too static and you need a runner in there. Surprised Klopp hasnβt played Ox there, he did a few years ago and it worked up until Ox got injured. Wijnaldum did that job for a fair few years and it worked.

14th January 2023 at 4:10 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 20 – Manchester and London Derby #202894Last season Everton should have received a stone wall penalty against Manchester City. PGMOL apologised and with City winning 1 nil, that result cost Liverpool the league title.
So in Adlabβs world, City cheated winning the league title
Everton have received an apology from Mike Riley, PGMOL chief, after VAR did not award the Toffees a penalty against Manchester City at the weekend over Rodriβs handballβ¦π pic.twitter.com/KKxkMoSVfX

If City players slowed down because Rashford was off, then that is on them. Play till the ref blows the whilstle.

14th January 2023 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 20 – Manchester and London Derby #202885FYI, the offside in Bruno's goal wasn't determined by whether Rashford was "interfering with play" or not. The rule is that Rashford only becomes active in that situation if he *plays the ball or makes an attempt to play the ball*.
He did neither.
VAR was right.

Maybe the press need to learn the rules.

14th January 2023 at 11:04 am in reply to: January Transfers 2023 (All I Want For Christmas is….) #202799Net spend is the most ridiculous argument I have seen when it comes to certain clubs. Most of those City sales happened within the last 2 years and not the 1st 4 years. Peps spending within his first 4 years was ridiculously high and players sales was low.
Only Liverpool can argue the net spend rule because that is what the club have to rely on currently.
