We should all be thanking the Jammy Dodgers from the hearts of our bottoms, the sheer entertainment factor along is almost priceless…

I think we can agree the list is a bit of a joke… without a doubt “headlines” has more to do with it than actual perfomances on the pitch.

Not trying to pick an 11 from that lot… but I will say the Goonie Goalie gets my thumbs up… that little Martin fella at YooUtd (surprised a lot of us, I reckon!)… Ode-to-guard and Cassie for midfield and Halland/Kane up top are the only shoe-ins there…

How many times do we see a team “change” throw-ins? How many times do we see a team pretend to play it short from a goal-kick, only for the goalie to wave his arms and kick it long? How many times do we see free-kicks involving walls take 2 minutes?

Like Nepolean says, passing it about at the back trying to get the oppo’s to press if fine, and dicking about at the the corner is always a bit of a larff (unless you’re losing!), but I think a “count-down” for free-kicks, goal kicks, and throw-ins would certainly help for starters.

As we’re srt of dissecting the game a bit on this thread, I’ll chuck this up… some interesting comments about time wasting… and see if any of you genuises can think of a way to to stop it. Stuffed if I can think of one (and stopping the clock everytime the ball isn’t in play seems likely to double the length of everygame…)

Actually, I wonder if some sort of “shot clock”, like in basketball would work (not to take an actual shot!), but you have 30 seconds to take a through in or the other team gets it, or the free kick goes the other way or something like that, 30 seconds to take a goal kick or its booking (or red if you’re really lazy!)

I digress… I think that the Goonies, as good as they have been, have also benifited in a similair fashion (perhaps not quite to the same levels I must admit!) to Leicester back in the day. Yes, they’ve been pretty decent in a lot of gmes, also been incredibly lucky in a few games too, and a lot of teams you would expect to be at the top end of the table are “re-building”…

If they finish top, which they won’t, they’ll have certainly deserved it, but regardless of where they finish, I’ll bet any amount of Monster Munch you want that they’ll get at least 12 points less next season.

To make it even worse for my boys twats, by all accounts Richy missed an absolute sitter 10 seconds before Bournemouth broke for their winner… a proper snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!!

As for the Chelsea game, it was like watching an Innocent City game, whereby one team has all the possession, makes all the “moves”, makes all the running, and generally makes wave after wave of attacks, while the other team is kinda sitting back, chasing shadows, and gets the occiassional nose bleed when they go too far up the pitch on the rare occassions they intercept a stray pass…
