We’ll have to agree to disagree a little there… it’s very easy to blame Danny-Boy for everything (and I’m certainly not saying his 100% innocent either), but some of the blame has to lay with the managers as well that we’ve had (yes, blame Danny for “signing” them for sure!). Was it Danny’s fault Maureen had Son/Kane/Bale at his disposel all season and forgot to play them all the time (ffs, how many times was Bale on the bench? And he still had the best minutes per goal ratio that season in the entire division by a considerable margin… excpet for one lad who made 1 sub apperance and scored! 🙂 ), how many of last summers signings were actually Conte/Paratici targets or Levy’s??
It’s all very easy to say Levy/Lewis could have spunked a bit more cash (afterall, it’s not our money!) but I do think our Spuds have spunked enough to be better than where we’re at… but a lot of that is also down to the managers we’ve had…
But I do agree about some of our players… I was thinking about it last night, with all the “loaners” coming back, that’s not a bad squad at all on paper (pity the game is played on grass!).
I know he isn’t coming, but I would love to see that Zebra fella from Brighton have a go with that squad…

Bllody hell, that was deep… (even deeper than Buffy’s pockets in a pub!)… 🙂
But you’re not wrong either… fans of all clubs will still cough up the dosh, armchairs warriors like myself will still watch on TV… and even if I want to drop a division or two, regretably they don’t have those games on my TV otherwise I would be sorely tempted… (Come on you Wrexhams!)…
Love that Migual quote too… so true. The room for error has all but been eroded and has subsequently removed that element of most sports… and you’re absolutely spot on about fans all wanting their own billionaire to even have a chance of competing (we actually have one, but his pockets are even deeper than Buffy’s!)

Silly-Willy-Nilly… fairy story my Arsenal… they’ve won the 666 lottery and are now the little bitches for the biggest bitches in the Middle East… the only thing I can say that could be considered remotely polite is that they haven’t cheated the system yet and would be, for the time being, pretending to play by the rules of the Football Association, even if stoning gay people and chopping up journo’s is otherwise acceptable… what you need to consider is that in about 2 or 3 seasons, your lads will be nothing but fighting out for 4th every year along with Arsenal and maybe even us Spuds…

I wish I could enjoy it too, cyber chum, but it’s just an overiding sense that my team and I are just making up the numbers. Sure, if the stars align, and we have a bit of luck with the draw, and if/when we meet one of the financially doped teams they might be having a bad day… and then we might win one of the cups… not a lot to look forward too, is there? The dream, as unrealistic as it was, is now well and truly dead, crushed under the heel of a tyrannous state who are desperate for some level of approval (which, if they truly wanted, could be found far easier, cheaper, and ultimately more successfully buy looking in a mirror).
There is no hope, not anymore… sure, I’ll probably keep an eye out on the results, probably watch some games when I’ve got nothing else better to do… and probably turn them off the moment we fall “behind”… 🙂 … just not worth the aggroo anymore… and as much as most of you laugh about it, I kinda feel guilty even watching it now, partaking in the “PR” event, reading and watching all the “experts” was lyrically about how brilliant certain teams are and completely ignoring how that team came into existance.

As for what will happen next year? I would suspect it will be the same as 5 of the last 6 years, namly Abu Dhabi
cheatingbuyingwinning another title… maybe an outside chance of Saudi Arabiabuyingwinning, certainly buying in with a chance ofbuyingwinning the year after… and then, of course, we’ll have the Qatar sticking their noses in… lucky for thosewithout moralswhose clubes are “choosen”… for those not chossen, there you go… 4th place really will be a trophy…_____________________________

You “big-club” fans still don’t get it, do you?
Us “lesser” fans, us “potless” muppets, who might be used to winning something once in a blue moon (see what I did there? 🙂 ), but have long held the dream that if the stars align, a couple of transfers work out better than expected perhaps, or maybe discover a couple of gems in the youth teams who make the step-up and surprise us all, a semi-decent injury free campaign, even a dose of everybody else having a bad year, then perhaps, just perhaps, we might win a title…
And along comes Innocent City, backed a (questionable) soverign state, break every rule in the book, rules that everybody else was vaguely following, as they steamrollered/bankrolled their march to the top of the tree, and are now in the luxurious position of starting each season with the question “So, how many pots are we going to win this year?” and the rest of us are supposed to sit back and think “Okay, my team has no chance in hell of winning anything, so I should be grateful I can watch them?”…. I don’t think so.
I watched the game last night, and I have no problem admitting they were bloody awesome, but I also have no problem admitting all my enjoyment was purely based on the fact it was the Goonies being torn a new one and nothing else.
And no, for the millionth time, I’m not going to be a part of the “sportswashing” agenda. Innocent City’s owners (and a few other owners) are not very nice people at all (and that’s puttting in mildly). I think it’s an absolute tradegy for the game that this has been allowed to happen and will always think that. It’s easy for the fans of these clubs to turn a blind eye (no doubt caused by all the shiny pots that have been bought for them!) and hope for everybody else to row along with them in the “oh well, there’s nothing we can do about it!” boat, but quite frankly, that’s a load of bullocks and we all know it!!!

Right then, starting with what looks like a 4-3-3 rather than a 3-4-3… something I’ve been thinking about for weeks… let’s see how it goes in what can only be called a “must-win”… not a draw will do!!
Time to show up, lads!!

Dunno about Poncho, would say maybe a 30% chance at best, but I would be bloody surprised if Kane crossed over to the darkside… he’ll never be forgiven for that…

We’ll agree to disagree, cyber chum, but they’ve always seemed very defensive and hitting on the counter… their very decent recent run I think is just covering over the fact they had a 11-11-4 type record, less than a 40(ish)% win rate with a lot of draws…
Or course, that could have been the plan all along, don’t lose and rack up the points and see what happens in the run-in, and have to admit it’s been effective… but that’s not convincing me they’re a “good” footballing side.

So, Paratici is “off”, not that he had a lot of choice in the matter, and today’s favorite is Vincent Kompany… 🙂
Part of me is kinda hoping we loss Sunday and just get this season over with… then Stellini can go and just let Wee Ryan have a bit of a larff for the last 6 games…
