I assume you’re talking about Kate Beckinsale, she can certainly stay, and I certainly think about her more than this Kovacic Adlab player… (who does he play for?)

Can’t speak for every Spud-lover, obviously, but going to any Prem side is going to tarnish it bit, just some a lot more than others… and obviously going to another Prem side just to increase the chances of a Cup rather than the title will tarnish it some more…
Don’t want him to go at all, “he’s one of our own!” afterall, but he does go, I’d certainly want him to go abroad for sure, I wouldn’t be happy about it still, but wouldn’t hold to many grudges about it! 🙂

Sir Harry wouldn’t even dream of going to another London club (and let’s face it, he has as much hope of winning something as those two as it does at the Spuds… and that’s no hope!)
As I said, my Monster Munch is on him rocking up at either Qatar or Abu Dhabi next summer.

As a Spuds fan, I love Harry as much as any other, but I also love my Spuds more… can’t speak for all of them, but I’d keep him and hope whoever is the new manager can actually show signs of decent progress (which obviously depends on Levy and his check book too!) and he see’s out his career with us… I’d take that gamble. Walking out and joining YooUtd (regradless of the fee) would put the biggest dent in his legacy with us (maybe a cup or two but the Prem? Don’t think so!), Saudi don’t have a sniff of a chance so we can forget that one… but leave next summer (as there is plenty of chatter about Haaland going to Real next year, he’s just “visiting” the Prem!) and as a free agent he’ll have his choice of whatever club he fancies and going to Abu Dhabi on a freebie will give him the max. salary, max. chances of proper trophies (Prem/CL) and I don’t think any Spud-lover will begrudge him that (arguably the smallest dent in his legacy!)… I reckon he’s got at least 4/5 years left in him, he’s a sensible pro!!

With regards to my Spuds…
Expecting Harry to stay and leave for free next summer (either YooUtd or Abu Dhabi)… would take 40 for Blondie if somebody offers it… keep Sonny and Kulu… Danjuma won’t be staying… and I doubt Gil wants to come back so some sort of Winger would be needed to replace him and Lucas… hoping for Maddison to finally replace Erik…
As for midfield.. Bentacur to come back, would sell Hodge-podeg if a decent offer comes in, leaves us with Skipp, Sarr, Bousimma (and Winks back from loan)… so another CM needed but no realistic idea of who… and what to do with N-Dumb and Lo Cecil???
Royal & Porro haven’t looked too bad playing at the same time on the right side… (haven’t looked brilliant either I should add!) so not the weakest spot in the team…
Left side is an injury prone Ryan (sell if enough comes in!)… Daives keep as back-up and I reckon Perisic is off back to Italy… but we have that Ittalian lad coming… haven’t seen him kick a ball so jury is out… but no need for anybody (unless Chillwell is kicked out at the Jammy Dodgers, nab him for sure!)
CB’s…. keep Romero, Sanchez will probalbly leave… Dier.. enough said… (and the same for Lenglet)… try for La Porte (but I reckon he’s off to Spain) but certainly another CB from somewhere…
And a new goalie…
But I guess it all comes down to getting a new manager first (and probably seeing who’s left in the market come August!)

You know what, Mikus, part of me is starting to think maybe the Septic Tanks have the right idea with salary caps etc… seems the only way to get some degree of a level playing field back.

And in 1 post, Silly-Willy-Nilly just summerized football… 🙂
Bring back Ozzie, I say, as least we’ll all be laughing as the ship is sinking…
As for a Super-Double-Duper League, I’m also starting to think they should just all bugger-off and relocate to the ME… no rules, do what you like, and leave the rest of us alone!

Did you watch my Spuds at all this season?? Got more faith in a wet paper bag than that lot… 🙂
Apart from Harry banging in 30 goals, none of them are worth talking about.
I was playing that “keep/bench/sell” game with my kid and it was a struggle… a perfect example about my team would be the simple question of who was better this season than last season and the nearest I could come up with was Royal, FFS!! Every other player bar those two had considerably shittier seasons than last season… the whole team regressed…

Don’t be daft, Nil, as they’ve only got a year left Abu Dhabi will be “forced” to sell them and PepeII has already got his check book out…
Joking aside, got to be looking at 40/50 mil each for Silva & La Porte… Walker, not a lot due to his age… maybe 5 mill?
They’ll just go out and buy some more, cyber chum, that’s what they do!
Long way to go in the silly season, for sure, but unless Pepe leaves, don’t see anybody actually challanging (pretending to until about March perhaps, if somebody gets off to a flyer)… but not come May!

Just to prove I’m an equal opportunities insulter 🙂 I will point out the Micky Mousers have the 10th highest net spend in Europe since the Abu Dhabi’s started their sportswashing campaign… hardly paupers!
(But I will also point out it’s roughly a third of Abu Dhabi’s wedge!)

Come on Adders… scrapping the barrel a bit there… Abu Dhabi “forced” to sell 3 of their 6 million players as they were in the last year of their contract? Luckily (for your net spend nonsense) you managed to get the Jammy Dodgers to write a huge check for Sterling and Pepe’s Bitch at the Goon Show to write you a couple more… what a load of nonsense…
3p’s has bascially covered it all in his post… Abu Dhabi have cheated their way to the top and pretty much ruined English football in the process for everybody who isn’t riding that wave of sportswashing success.
There is no defence of it, either morally or technically…
It’s a pity money can’t buy respect!

Bloody hell, what is wrong with you bloody Abu Dhabi boys??? LOL!!! Why only 5 years? Why not, say, 13 years, going back to when Abu Dhabi turned you into their little bitches?? LOL!!! Would that be because you’re net spend over those 13 years would happen to be over 1,5 billion pounds, considerably the highest in Europe over those 13 years? Would that be it? Okay, we’ll forget the first 8 years, you know, those years when you really were spending money like it was going out of fashion and absolutely not breaking any rules whatsoever in the process while getting so far ahead of everybody else you can now claim to be “spending like the rest of us”…
Sorry, forgot your legal arguments… stuff more than 5 years old doesn’t count!! 🙂

Tash…. 45 million over what, 20? 25 years? Either way it’s still about the same that your team pays in agents fees for one player (that would be blondie before you ask!) or about the same you paid Mancini via dodgy overseas clubs…
Anyway, just out of curiosity, what is the “defence” for the breaches of the rules then? Are you lot still planning on playing the a “technical” card (forget the admissions of guilt in the emails, just look at how the emails came to light) or the “statute of limitations” card (forget about all the rules we broke because we broke them ages ago)? Or was Mancini really worth 3.5 million for being massaged for 2 days in a 5 star hotel in Abu Dhabi?

The thing is Nil, Levy hired a top draw manager, let him spend hundreds of millions in 18 months (can’t be arsed to add it all up and Blondie and Zorro were 100 million by themselves!), and then watch it all implode is hardly something to blame Levy for…

Well spotted Adders, let’s all stop and give a round of applause to Abu Dhabi, they’ve managed to sell hundreds of players stockpiled around their 13 clubs which they bought during the “we played by the rules” years so the balance sheet looks half presentable to Joe Public… don’t forget that perfectly by the rules tactic of paying Mancini from multiple clubs too… makes the bottome line look really good when you’re obvioulsy not cheating…
Anyway, getting a cab for the first 26 miles of a marathon and then jogging the last 300 yards yelling “Look, I’m jogging like the rest of you!” isn’t much of an excuse (although I’m sure your lawyers will find a loop hole somewhere about somebody colored shoelaces or something!)

The glass half full approach is one way of looking at it… but I think the reality is now, due to the influx of “money” clubs, even “normal” clubs have to spend 150-200 million a year just to tread water… let alone catch up… for the sake of English football, not just my team, the bubble needs to burst…

You’re right, Nil, it’s not just about having the cash to splash (look no further than the Jammy Todgers for evidence of that)… but how many times to “poor” teams win the Prem? It might not be the only ingrediant for sure, but it’s the most important one… think about it, would Pepe win the Prem with Bournemouth’s budget?? Not bloody likely…

ANd like Waspy, I’m not a huge fan of watching Abu Dhabi play, it’s a bit like watching the lions eat the slaves at the colloseum, only worth watching if you don’t like the slaves that are being eaten! 🙂

That’s a very idealistic view, Rover, I’ll give you that… but other than Saudi Arabia, nobody has the cash (or the balls to ignore the rules!) to actually compete with Abu Dhabi, maybe the Qatari’s will, depending on where they land but it’s all over for actual football teams.
As I said in my first comment… you’ll get long odds on a non-soverign team winning the Prem in the next 10 plus years… not with the current stone-the-homo-willy-waving competition the Middle East is playing with.
