Look, as far as I’m concerned, if a club “fails”, then it’s down to everybody in the club, everybody has responsibilites… just blaming the person at the “top of the tree” is a bit pointless…

Sweedy, don’t actually blame Levy for everything (although others do!)… sure, he could have spent more in the transfer market, but I can’t blame him for things that happen on the field, so to speak… of course we can blame Levy/Glazers for appointitng the people who appoint the poeple who pick the transfers/teams/tactics, but that’s the point I’m making… you can’t blame them for everything like you’re seemingly trying to do.

Have to agree Waspy, as the Abu Dhabites like to yell, Qatar’s spending (might as well get used to the name now! 🙂 ) during the Pepe years has been outstanding… they’ve certainly backed the managers and then some.

Starting to suffer from NSOS… (New Season Optimism Syndrome)… happy with Wee Jimmy, hoping we’ve got a bargin with the new Goalie, got a manager who’s threantening to “unleash” the team (and we’ve certainly got the attacking talent to cause problems for anybody!)… and mildly confident that Harry will be seeing out his contract… add that lot up with what sounds like at least one new CB to partner Romero (and it would be hard to find one worse than the options we currently have!) and I’m fully expecting us to finish higher up the table than last year…
How high? I have no idea but hopefully we’ll need to get the passports out for the season after!!
And good luck to Winksy, could be a good move for him, fancy them to come straight back up even if a few of their first teamers are leaving, and possibly a goodbye to Hodge-Podge… I’d quite happily take 30ish million for him to put in the pot…

So we’ve got Wee Jimmy… have to say I’m quite happy about that, exactly the sort of player we’ve been missing since Wee Erik… looks like it won’t be enough to keep Harry (unless Levy “blocks” all calls!)…
Not sure about the goalie… seems a bit cheap but then again, he’s not English or has played in the Prem before… seen some comments from people who know more about Pizza Ball than I do and they seem to think we’ve got a bit of a bargin there…

I’m so, so sorry to hear the news. I lost my own mother to cancer a few years back and I know what a horrible time this is for you and your family so you all have my deepest sympathies.
It may be a small crumb of comfort, but your father was certainly a valued a member of our little online community (I called him the “puppy” due his avatar, mainly to wind him up!) and, depsite have a few verbal run-ins with him over the years, always valued his opinion (on those few occassions I agreed with him!). I’m sure I speak for everybody here when I say he will be missed for sure.
Again, my deepest sympathies to you and your family, and thank you for taking the time to let us know the sad news.

Wishful thinking, Nil, but I like your optimism. Abu Dhabi will win it by at least 10 points, mid-90’s… maybe one of the following pack might reach the mid-80’s point range, but I very much doubt 3rd place will have more than 75…

Not many countries left, 3p’s, the likes of Everton, Spurs, Leeds et al will just have to get used to being mid-table clubs with a year in the Europa Conference League and a domestic cup final (depending on the draw) being the best we can look forward too…
Not unless some intergalactic aliens need some sort of earth invasion sports washing campaign… 🙂
