Have to agree, Adders, all the pundits and rags got it all badly wrong last year… you should stick to your cyber chums on here, we all predicted the Abu Dhabi Sportswashing Campaign would walk away in their gold plated trainers with every pot possible and we all got that right… spent a lot and won the lot…

Waspy… going to be interesting at the Lane for sure, with or without Harry… although I think he’ll be given the time unless it’s an absolutely disastrous start (i.e. in a relegation spot at Christmas!) but as long as he’s in the Top 10 I don’t think he’ll be in much trouble at all. A lot of youngish players coming in so I think even Levy realizes a bit of a re-build going on… or maybe we’ll get a but lucky and hit a winning formula early with Super Harry up top (very doubtful, I know, what can a fan do?!? LOL!)
Buffy… we’ll see, can’t say I’ve seen much myself so I’ll have to wait until I’ve seen him kick a ball in anger…

A lot of me agrees with you Waspy, but I want to see my Spuds win something a lot more than I want to see Harry win something, and in an ideal world he’ll be wearing a Spud shirt win he finally gets to lift a pot or two…
Anyway, I don’t think leaving on a freebie next year and having literally a pick of any club he wants with a siging on fee and salary that would make the Abu Dhabi Sportswashing Campaign blush isn’t the worst case scenerio for him… got at least another 4 years at the top level and it’s a no brainer he’ll bet Shearer’s record… and I do think winning a pot or two in Germany won’t mean a great deal to him… stay another year, and then pick whoever he wants in the Prem to win a pot or two (can you imagine a team with him and Haaland in it???) and get the record…

Not an IT wizard, not really a wizard of any kind to be honest, but I do love getting every single game on my big TV… even if I only watch the Spudz!!
(Mind you, got no idea how much it costs me… the misses takes care of all that and sends me an invoice at the start of each month… maybe I should read them!)

Going into this season so many teams have so many variables it’s going to be a nightmare to predict anything… (not that I was any good at it anway!)… I can see having a relatively settled team being a huge advantage, so other than thinking last years top 4 being the same, everything else is up for grabs… and expecting Villa to be the dark horses!!

Not wrong there, Waspy, noises coming from the camp suggest everybody is a happy camper playing on the front foot, and from what I’ve seen in pre-season us Spud-lovers are certainly going to entertained… very quick and direct passing and total control of the game… only to be expected against those lads from Singapore, but against a Wet Spam side that had apparently been “training” longer? It was all one way traffice against them and something like 35 attempts for Spuds vs 4 for Wet Spam…
(Obviously I’m trying to be glass half full… 🙂 )

So, new manager, a bunch of new players, and a very new style of play… really have no idea how this is going to work out, either with or without Harry… really is going to be a season of surprises…
Glass Half full… keep Harry and get at least 1 new CB to partner Romero… the style of play seen so far in pre-season surprises everybody in the Prem, and we some how sneak into the Top 4, with Harry winning the golden boot and signing a new contract at Christmas…
Glass Half-Empty… Harry goes all sausage munching, this new style of football is rubbish, Sonny finishes the season as our top scorer with 13 goals, and we sneak 40 points to stay up sometime in March, all glossed over by a surprise appearence in the FA Cup final whereby we lose to Abu Dhabi Sportswashing Campaign but qualify for the Europa League as they won the league… again… and are declared innocent of all crimes against football because somebody on the prosecution signed a document with a blue pen instead of a black pen.

Long way to go but I don’t see anybody breaking into last years Top4, Jammy Todgers are a complete mess with their revolving door policy (might finish strongly!), LiVARberoOol have a completely new midfield to incorporate (again, might finish strongly), and my Spuds are just all over the place anyway… none of those three are going to catch Abu Dhabi Sportswashing Campaign or the Goonies, and I would be surprised if any of them could catch YooUtd or Saudi Arabia Sportswashing Campaign…

Has anybody here actually watched an Al-Bundy League game? Or have any intention too?
I just can’t see how it will work in the long run… and even the Saudi’s will get bored throwing money away eventually. It’s just a rinse and repeat version of what China tried to do.
