Hmmmmm… can somebody explain to me why Casimero wasn’t “offside” when Bruno headed it to him? I could see that from Finland????

There’s always the “off” button… I tend to turn it over if its boring….

Cherries were all over us for the first 15 minutes or so, swampping us before we had a chance to get going and get into a rythem…..

Scored 2, should have scored a few more, defence looking a bit tighter than it did last week… long live the revolution!!

At least Richy is off.. 10/10 for effort but bloody hell, not working for him is it?
And the 2nd goal… perfect timing, starting to wobble a little bit…

Little disapointted to only be 1 up at half-time… some further very decent chances went begging…

Didn’t the Prem also change that rule to 5 years, starting next year??

So, Salah on 180m, RonnyII on 175m, Naymar on 130m and Henderson on 35m a year… that’s 520m a year in salaries for 4 players in a League that turned over 90m combined in the 2022 season… let that sink in…

Not the hardest game on paper for us Spuds, but it’s played on grass and we put the Spurs in Spursy… small concern about Wee Jimmy playing, although Lo Cecil had a decent pre-season anyway so not too worried. More worried about whether Richy has found his shooting boots yet… should be 3 points, but let’s see!!
Hoping for a Pool win, mainly because I want the Bone Saw Boyz to lose… 🙂
Not really expecting too many surprises in the other games…
So, what about all this chatter about Mo buggering off to the Al-Bundy Farmers League? Going to be a big wedge for sure but will you have time to spend it? Let’s be honest, going to be bloody hard for him to turn down the reported 180 million a year… (which is double the entire leagues turnover in 2022, what’s Arabic for Financial Fair Play?)

There certainly is a lot to be said for the “right fit”, so to speak, with a manager/players/club just clicking in the right circumstances and over performing… and the wrong managers/players/club just not working… as the last three managers at the Spuds have proven.
The mind in boggling thinking what Zerbi could have done about 3 years ago with Son/Kan/Bale up top… (and, as I’m being silly, Moose in midfield, and a back four of Walker, Toby, Jan & Rose…
I’ll even chuck in prime Dele and Madders from the class of 23…
Just need a goalie now!

Just saw that Sigurdsson might be returning to football in the Danish League having not played for 2 years after his “release” from Everton… that’s a club who might be getting a bit of “interesting” feedback in the very near future…

Probably right, Waspy, but losing 5-3 is better than losing 5-0 like we were doing a couple of times last season. The LB, we signed him last summer and loaned him back for another year, Udinase I think it was. Looks great going forward but question marks about him defenisevly (but I think we can all see that!). Looking good for him, but then again, I thought the same thing when Wee Reggie showed up 3 years ago before he went full Dele mode… Moose-ima looks like a new signing this year, wasn’t impressed with him at all last year, never understood what the fuss was, but that’s starting to look more like he was following orders at the time… and I think Kane would have scored at least 3 this season if he had stayed.. 🙂
As for a #9, linked with about 6 of ’em!! As long as it isn’t big Lakakau, I’ll give ’em all a chance. My personally choice (based on YouTube highlights it must be said) would be that Orban lad… he can finish from all over the place, inside the box like Lineker, outside the box like Harry & Bale used to do, and a couple of decent “free-kicks” a la James Ward-Prowse, no idea about his hold-up play… whether he can do it in the Prem is another matter obviously, but he looks like a perfect fit for Angie-Ball to me!
Mikus, really does seem Angie has cheered everybody up and everybody is smiling again, according to all “behind the scenes” reports going on, after the rather overall depressing reigns of Maureen and Conte.
Don’t think for one minute we’re catching ADSC or the Goonies, and highly unlikely to finsih above the Bone Saw Boyz…. but the optimist in me is thinking a decent #9 and Benny back in another 8 weeks or so (he would have been out player of the season possibly, he was so good before the injury!), and with slight question marks over everybody else at the moment, 4th just might happen!I need to stop lunch time drinking… 🙂

And we should be getting a new #9 to add to the mix… (I love Richy, but it’s not working out, is it?)

Don’t like to make vaguely serious predictions until the transfer windows shut, but I have to say I’m a little surprised how will us Spuds are playing/performing so far this season… created plenty of chances and playing on the front foot for a change… bit unlucky against the Bee’s and rode our luck a little bit in the first half against YooUtd but I’m started to feel a little bit optimistic about this season…
With the Jammy Todgers & Micky Mousers a little bit all over the place, 5th isn’t impossible… unless Villa or Brighton pull a surprise or 2 over the course of the season…

Really. Adders, you sure about that? Based on evidence that’s recently come to light over the last few weeks (surprisde you lot in the UK haven’t heard/read about it, not exactly been a secret over here) I reckon the club owned by an insider dealer to old to be a wanker (but can afford to have it done for him) are quite likely to finish higher than 7th…

According to certain cyber rags, the Jammy Todgers are planning on signing another 4 players before the transfer window… FFP rules or not, they’re basically just taking the piss now…

Nepolean, just to clarify, I wouldn’t have been surprised if YooUtd (or any club) would have done their best to sweep it under the carpet, but in this particular case, Joe Public weren’t having it.
The question would be simple. Would YooUtd taken the actions they have IF Joe Public kept quiet?

Mr. Google tells me the “largest” Saudi club turned-over approx. 44mil pounds in 2022, which in turn accounted for roughly 46% of the entire leagues turnover… (so the entire league turned over approx. 95 mil pounds with the other 14 teams sharing 54% (or approx 51 mil pounds!)
And now they’re paying Naymer 130 million pounds a year and Ronaldo 175 million pounds a year!!
Even Adders can’t explain that one away… 🙂
