Big J…. don’t get your knickers wet about Harry Kane FC (not my words! 🙂 ) or Supper Harry for that matter. I do genuinely think he’ll be there for at least another 4/5 years, and in his late 20’s maybe he’ll go abroad, basically the same thing at Glenda did. Dele on the other hand, I think his head has already been turned with the idea of a huge bank account and would be very surprised if he’s still at the new House of Pain at the start of the 19/20 season.
As for bringing in anybody, that is a tough one.
Goalkeepers: If Llroris stays, who we gonna get that would improve?
RB: OKay, Walker went, but we all rate Trippier, and Weirdy Beardy has shown signs of “decentness”, along with signs of utter stupidity… possible room for improvement but who, realistically?
CB’S: Reckon they’re the best pairing in the Prem, and can’t really think of a pairing anywhere else that are better. And we have this young Argie Bargy lad learning the Poncho way (and Dier who can cover)… again, who we gonna get that would improve the 1st 11?
LB’s: Davies is playing a blinder and we have Rose to come back… not too sure who/how/where we could improve there…
CM’S: Wanayammanamma, Dier, Demeble, Winks.. okay, looking a bit thin with injuries at the moment, which is why Disco is playing there (and too badly either) but a pretty decent bunch fighting for those two spaces. Could do with another body in there, Vidal would be an improvement, but would he come? Who else who would improve the 1st 11 would come?
AMF: Well, we have the Iceman, Dele, Son, Disco, Lamela, Kevin at the moment, with a couple of youngsters who might make the grade. I’d love to see Bale come back, who again (I know, stuck record!) who would be willing to come and fight for a place with that lot?
Striker: Well, err… Harry and I’m surprised we got Llorente as backup. Really can’t see us improving there…The problem we have Big J, is simply getting the players who are good enough to want to fight for a place in the first 11. We can all have wishlists, but I’m happy with the “plan” of getting players to push the first 11 to stay on thier toes, with these players knowing (like Trippier!) if they do well they will get the chance. I really think it’s more of a question oftinkering with the squad rather than buying 1st 11, so we keep the points board ticking over…
Would love to see Bale back though… 🙂

I don’t think we can comment on MoneyCity’s defense until a team has a right go at them for the full 90 minutes. Most teams to be sitting back and trying their luck with the counter while holding ship at the other end. Pool was causing some issues before Mane’s red-card I seem to recall. Didn’t see last nights game, by all accounts Chelski were a bit defensive in their line-up.

But that’s enough about my Spuds, what about City?

Not 100% sure what you’re trying to say Nil, my little gigabyte budster, but I personally would be quite surprised if the Prem trophy doesn’t end up in Manchester this year but I’m not Mystic Meg!
There’s a big difference between “Hopes and Dreams” and “Being Smacked in the Face with a Smoked Kipper!” my cyber chum, and to do my best Golden Retriever impression “plenty of water to be played under the bridge!”… 🙂

Double H… part of me is disappointed it was only 4…. what’s your acca for this weekend? Do I need to change your name to Double M? Off to the shops for some more fire-water! 🙂

You guys need to stop playing that card…. 🙂
Nobody is going anywhere, not unless the GDP of a small country is involved. Yeah, Walker left, to go and play for the best team in the country, and the best manager in the world, and will probably pick-up a shiny thing or two over the next 3/4 years, along with the healthier bank-account.. but I wouldn’t say we are missing him so win/win all-round… none of us Spuds are panicking about everybody else’s predictions! 🙂

3 more points on the board, try and catch the highlights later…
NIL, we had this disco before mate, all well and good having a gently pop at Levy and whatnot, but as I said at the time, who we gonna get? Our 1st 11 is pretty steller at the moment, hard to find anybody who would walk straight into that who would a) not cost 100m plus in today’s market and b) would actually come to the Spuds anyway. All in all, when it was all wrapped up, I think we did all right over summer and got some decent players in.

Nobody likes to see players injured obviously, but this incident really makes a mockery of all the managers who bitch about travelling for games etc.. when they subsequently let their VIP players disappear to other countries for concerts 48 hrs before season defining games…

Double H… I’m one of the new breed my cyber chum, as optimistic as a spotty kid walking into a school disco! Not that you watch the Spuds every week but we’re not playing badly at all so far this season, if matches were scored like synchronized swimming we’d have even more points than we do (but it isn’t so we don’t!). Someone is going to get a bit of a spanking soon, that’s for sure, why not the next game? 🙂
Anyway, 2nd in the table, must be something in my fire-water!

Sounds like Aguero got a bit lucky there, certainly could have been a lot worse. No news on how long he’s out for though…

Pxton.. wash your mouth out, cyber chum! As somebody mentioned already, I also fancy us to get at least a point over two games against Real! Glass half full… try it sometime! 🙂

Give ’em time Mikus, I’m sure clubs that were huge in the 70’s might pick-up on the the idea of heritage, or dare I say history, payments! 🙂
On a more serious note (LOL), I’m totally against anything the expands the gap between the haves and the have-not’s.. for years we had the SKY 4 ruling over the roost, and anything that hints back to those days I like about as much as pickled onions on my doughnut.

Far more annoying would be the Micky Mousers getting more for 4th than my Spuds did for 2nd!! 🙂

Agree with the “merit” point, but I’m personally against anything that could help widen the gap between the top and the bottom of the table. Don’t the likes of ManCity/Chelsea already have enough advantages over the likes of Huddersfield/Arsenal?
But you’re right, turkeys don’t vote for Christmas!

Interesting, if all 5 do manage to squeak through, that draw might take ages to make! 🙂

Does anybody know if Prem sides are kept apart in the first knock-out round?

I wonder how long before we see the Red-tops come out with a “Pep’s City Rose” headline of some sort…. I reckon about 12 hrs after the extend of Mendy’s injury is confirmed! 🙂
Or perhaps a cheeky punt on Shaw?
Seriously though, hope the lad get’s better soon, he’s looked good when I’ve seen him.

Yeah, shame for the lad.
Interesting thought about the pitches (but judging by the way the pitch was cutting up in the Spud game last night I would beg to differ… to a degree!). Remember reading somewhere the level of grip in the boots (more angles studs and things like that) aren’t also helping matters too. You could possibly also throw in an element of number of games too, bit of a turkeys voting for Christmas scenario…

So the Spuds and MoneyCity both have 6 from 6, as Singing the Blues says, so close you can almost taste it! Don’t know about your mob, but we’ve got an easyish (cough) double header against some Spanish team coming up, Real something or other… so we should be assured our place in the next round…
The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the special relationship might come into play here… one win each pretty much guarantees both us to go through…… 🙂
What’s this about a long-term for Mendy? Not seeing anything anywhere about. Shame for the lad, he looked like he had taken to the Prem like a duck to water when I’ve seen City play…

We were pretty turgid in the first half, but credit to Poncho, took off Weirdy Beardy, put on Llorente, played the FB’s on their proper sides and went 4-4-2…. completely different Spuds after that and thoroughly deserve the 3 points!
