About as long as it takes for UEFA to work out how much beer & doughnut money they need for the next 7 years and send the
invoicefine. 🙂_____________________________

Yes and no cyber chum, the discussion is about clubs that a basically taking the piss out of the rules, with both PSG and Chelski being used as examples. I’m sure my club do it too, as I’m sure every club. I reckon it’s more of a moan about the sad state of affairs when it’s win at all costs…
To go back to Chelsea for a moment, I don’t remember them loaning out 4 teams worth of players before the FFP rules came into effect, so the loan system is now being used as a “revenue-generator”, which was not how the loan system came into being, therefore the system is being abused rather than broken. Perhaps, unlike the PSG “abuse”, as Chelski are the only one’s abusing a system (to that level), and it will take a lot of hard work for other teams to follow and set themselves up like Chelski, is why it’s not being “investigated”.
That differs from the PSG abuse, which could be followed instantly by any team with a big enough check book, therefore UEFA have to at least pretend to do something to stop City, and even Chelsea (who have a history in this! 🙂 ) from just spunking half a billion pounds every summer.

Nil…. just found the longest serving Chelsea player, a goalkeeper called Matej Delac, who signed his first contract at Chelski in 2009 and has played precisely 0 games at any level in a Chelski shirt… which is exactly the same number of games I’ve played for Chelski during that time… to use 9,nine,nien’s comment, I guess that must be a real good “revenue-generator”….. LOL!

I’ll suggest it for you Eddy, Looney should have gone down in history as a considerably better player than he was. Yes, he has a hatful of trophies and records, but it would take a brave man to suggest he was as professional as he could have been and if he had his head screwed on properly he wouldn’t have achieved so much more…

Agree with most of what you say, but there is the small issue of Looney being paid vast sums of money for being a role-model to a generation. Considering that notion, I have no problem with the red-tops pointing out he’s a bit of a hypocrite in that regard… if you take money to put yourself in the public eye, then you can’t simply complain about the public eye staring back.

9,nine,nein…. sorry cyber chum, if your sole reason for arguing Chelski’s current abuse, although clearly not breaking, of the loan rules and using them as a “revenue-generator” (your words, not mine!) is simply the morally fine up standing citizens at UEFA headquarters not investigating Chelski, then your argument is weaker than school custard my cyber chum.
Just to be clear, nobody is saying Chelsea are breaking the rules, we’re saying (or at least I am! 🙂 ) having 50 plus players out on loan purely for the purpose of trying to flog them is taking the piss, especially when your club went out and bought 5 more “seasoned” pro’s to go straight into the first team. I’m sure I posted an article about Chelsea’s current longest-serving player at the other place, a player who’s been at Chelsea for 8 seasons now and has played as many games for the club as I have because no mug will buy him.

9,nine,nein…. never once said Chelski were breaking the rules me ‘auld cyber chum, and by the sounds of it, PSG aren’t actually breaking any rules either. But I would certainly say both clubs are making a mockery of the rules as when the rules were made, the rule-makers didn’t quite envisage the “bending” of the rules that is occurring. I don’t think the phrase “revenue-generator” was ever mentioned once when they sat down to write these “loan” rules, do you? Honestly?

Steady Eddy… if that’s the case, then the idiots who came up with the rules are retarded. Anybody bought is spread over the length of the contract, anybody sold counts all up front. Stupid. No other word for it. Not shooting the messenger, just the message! 🙂
The more this whole FFP crap goes on, the more I think UEFA don’t have an interest, just some BS type of PR campaign. Coming up with rules that anybody with an IQ equal to Donald Trump can walk around? What it is the point if it’s not just a PR campaign?

I wouldn’t even say that Beni, I’m thinking PSG are banking (see what I did there?) on UEFA not having the kahunas to actually do anything about it. They’ll pay the fines without even breaking sweat, simply using the energy it would take us mere mortals to rummage down the back of the sofa. UEFA ain’t gonna kick them out of the CL…..
PSG are simply extracting the Micheal…. pure and simple, just as Chelsea are making a mockery of the loan system for their own needs.

Wouldn’t the flaw in both your argument be selling 80m worth of players next season to cover the Naymer/Nmappe transfers be the buying clubs will also be paying the 70/80 million over the length of the contracts? Even accounting for the “x” amount per year, PSG would have to be selling hundreds of millions of pounds worth of players…
Let’s face it, PSG are laughing in the face of the FFP rules, and there is nothing the UEFA will actually do about other than make some noise and put their hand out for their own %, although they will call it a “fine”…. 🙂

YooUtd score three goals at the end of the game and they’re potential champions, England score three goals at the end of the game and it’s all “It’s only Malta, lads….”

From a Spud angle, it ended up a lot better than it looked 72 hrs ago, reckon we’ve won the “Deadline Day Mayhem” award this year. Very happy the Lloeoerrottootee, and would tend to agree about the pace side of things… but then again, as we’ve seen twice already at Wembly, pace is overrated when you’re playing against a 6-3-1 formation… unless running up the stairs for a hot-dog is a viable solution.

You’re attack is steller… but 2-3-5 isn’t going to win titles!

Bombing back up the M1 sitting shot-gun with Barkley would be my guess…. 🙂

All in all, not too bad for my mob, the squad is certainly strengthened, perhaps not the first 11, and quite happy with Llorentttetettteee and not that disappointed with Vinny staying too. Bit gutted we didn’t get Barkley, somebody to keep the Erik, Ali & Co. on their toes would have been nice (and Barkley training/playing with Ali & Kane would have been good for England too I reckon!).
As for the Chelsea “rejects”, can’t wait to hear 9,nine,nein’s take on it. It would certainly seem something is going on behind the scenes, players are normally queuing up to sign up there. What do they know that we don’t?
Overall, reckon the Manc clubs had the best “summer”, YooUTd buying two players that went straight into the first 11 and looked at home from the get go, City just buying everybody left, right and center, even if 17 doesn’t go into 11. Pepe’s man-management skills are going to be needed there to keep everybody happy, but if he can, I reckon we’re all playing for 2nd.
Pool added a lot of pace up top, a handful for everybody, still a bit suspect at the back.
Goonies, put the kettle on and watch the melt-down, going to be both epic and thoroughly enjoyable! Lifted this from the “website-that-can’t-be-named”, in case some of you missed it! 🙂
