I know Goldie, I know, like you say, what’s 200m between friends (apart from the value of your subs bench! 🙂 ). Kinda ironic though, you have to admit, when even Chelsea have to tighten the gold-plated Gucci belt. Unfortunately, I reckon City are going to walk it for a few years now due to the size of their checkbook and the employment of the ultimate “Championship Manager”, but I suppose that’s better than those cockwombles down the road from them. Nil’s head might explode in the meantime, but you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs I suppose.

Nil… what genuine grievance about Fenway? They don’t coach that defense you’ve got and that is where Pool’s biggest problem lays. If it’s simply because they won’t give Klopp half a billion quid to spend like the Big 3 Money Clubs then you’re going to be sulking a long bloody time mate, and for the sake of your own mental health, I would suggest you let it go because it isn’t going to change. AS Goldie says, Fenway just wants to increase their investment without spending more than necessary, end of story.
As for you Goldie, so you’ve picked up 4 or 5 bargins with billion quid you lot have spent since Moscow took over, I’m sure the list of “big-buys” far outstrips the “bargain-hunters” list. You need to remember pal, no footy fan is ever going to forget the role your club played in the introduction/development of “sugar-daddys” in football…. 🙂

Going to chuck it out there, but I wonder if the lack of a proper “reserve” league has proven to be more of a hindrance than a benefit? Didn’t they scrap those some time back and everything now is pretty much a “friendly”, under 21’s or a “cup” game? Young players just don’t get the time to acclimatize to a new club, just chucked in the deep end to sink or swim.

Going back to Pool, I understand why Herr Brenda buys a lot of overseas players, but I think one of the keys to the Spuds recent success is we’ve also bought a fair few English lads. Apart from Robertson, who doesn’t seem to be getting a decent “crack”, I can’t recall any young British lads his bought and I personally can’t help thinking they’re treating Pool as a bit of a stepping stone.

Seen this Knockheart lad a few times this season, BHA are going to have their work cut out to keep him for any length of time.
Only seen the highlights about the Spuds game, we never looked at the races from what I saw, happy to grab a point in the end. Be glad to see the end of November, seen some great performances and then a few not so great performances. Hopefully we can go on one of our “runs” now, get a rhythm going. Pity we’ll be missing Waananayayammaana and Alldlelrelelffwlerrield unitl the New Year, could really do with them around. At least Lamamlalalalalala is back! 🙂

Bricky… I think us Spuds realized we had no choice but to walk the path we have as we were never going to get the Top Tier players. Luckily, it’s a method that Poncho seems to like and is seemingly proving to be somewhat successful compared to the decades of shite we’ve had at the Lane.
AS for our dear cyber chum and the problems with History Boys FC fans ( 🙂 ) is they seemingly want to buy their way by back to the top, rather than the slower route of building a team. Then they sulk that Klopp hasn’t got 100% control, then sulk when he does have 100% control and buys rubbish, then sulk when FSG aren’t too sure about given Klopp more money because he buys rubbish… 🙂
Looking at HBFC yesterday, you’re almost there I reckon. Get the Keita chap from Redbull, VVD (or other) to help with defense and an actual LB, keep everybody you’ve got, and you’ve got a pretty decent team/bench to play with there. Then work with the reserves, get one or two youngsters…. HBFC are a lot closer than the doom and gloom merchants will have you believe.

Can’t speak for FSG personally, but surely they’re sports investors first and Pool fans a distant 2nd. The problem with these types of owners are simply as long as they don’t lose money, it’s all a bit of a gamble. They’ll make their money back and then some, but are they likely to invest the levels needed to get a top to the top of the trough? Unlikely I reckon, they’ll stick at the same levels of investment and hope they might get that slice of luck to push the team over the edge (Class 92, Leicester, some lucky signings etc…)
I’ve always wondered why ‘Mericans invest in English/European Leagues, American Sports have no understanding of promotion/relegation, it’s all closed shops and guaranteed incomes… very different than non-‘Merican leagues.

It’s easy to blame the owners, especially when we all watch certain other owners of certain other clubs operate with an open checkbook policy, but other than handing over blank checks, what else are the owners actually responsible for? You can’t blame them for the singing (or lack-off), you can’t blame them for team selection, you can’t blame them for zonal marking.
Just like the man in black, they’re simply an easy target to vent your frustration on, when the things that your own team are in control off don’t go to plan.
Take the Spuds game, was it Joe Lewis’s fault Dele’s dumbass dummy in his own half didn’t work setting up the first goal, or Hugo rooted to the spot as the scuffed shot trickled over the line? Nope, that would be Dumbass Dele and Hugo “Feet Nailed To The Floor” Llrois…

Reckon 1-1 was reasonable to both sides, no idea why Herr Brenda left the Mane Man on the bench for this, and then only gave him 5 minutes… is the hamstring still bothering him? After dropping points against the Baggies (soft as shit goal to give away and then they just sat with 11 men behind the ball!), hoping for another draw between Burnley and the Goon Show this afternoon.
Pity YooUtd fluked/jammed/cheated their way to 3 points…

Nice sportsmanship from YooUtd there, allowing Brighton to fight for the ball for 30 seconds so they could kick it out for their own player to get treatment, then allowing themselves to keep possession in the oppo’s half by throwing to themselves and continuing play…. quality sportsmanship there!!

Reckon Mahrez to City is just red-top nonsense, he’d be about 6th in the pecking order and that’s before Sanchez and Messi arrive at Christmas and next summer. I can see Leicester biting City’s hand off for the undoubted wedge but really don’t understand why Cty would even consider it.

Naturally Pool vs the Chav’s should be the pick of the week (going for a Chav win if anybody is interested) but I’m actually looking forward to the Burnley vs Goon Show on Sunday, especially after the Goonies rather dismal showing last night in the Europa league. Based on hope more than anything but I fancy a draw there!
On another note, how many Friday night home games have the Spammers had? That’s three already this season, isn’t it?

With the odds looking pretty good on all 5 teams qualifying, there’s going to be a pretty good chance on some decent match-ups in the next round and none of them are likely to be easy for anybody (accept for the team that draws Pool… 😉 ). Pity we have to wait about 3 months for the games.
