I remember Spuds vs Pool last season, Mane should have got 4 yellows in the first half alone (and the first of those should have been a straight red vs Rose!) and another 2/3 in the second. Don’t recall ever seeing a player finish 90 minutes like that and wonder how on earth he stayed on the pitch…. like most things in the game, it’s all swings and roundabouts, we all remember the ones that go against us while conveniently forgetting the ones that went for us.
I’ll give you all inconsistency, but I’m just going to laugh my head off if anybody claims conspiracy! 🙂

While you’re looking for the Kane incident, feel free to post Kun’s “Kung-fu” attack on Side Show Bob and tell me he wasnøt trying to hurt him… every team has them and every player is capable of them…. and I’m sure both Goldie and I can find quite a few “challenges” on our own lads that didn’t get a red card that should have…

Goldie… but where do you draw the line? That’s the old age problem. You can’t make it non-contact, and no amount of rules is going to change the “red-mist” element of the game. I do strongly believe very, very few players go out to deliberately injure other players, but it is a highly charged contact sport. It’s going to happen whether we like it or not.
And yes, Ali can be a right dick at times…

Or to put it another way, was it 91st minute of a 0-0 game, with the home side having just missed a match-winning penalty and the away side breaking for possible a match-winning goal, with a striker (a type of player not exactly renowned for tackling skills) making a desperate tackle under a red-mist haze…. or a secret memo stating you can kick City players? 🙂

Big J… not defending the actions of any Spud player one little bit… but it amazes me how short memory you have… a remember a certain Kun doing his best to removes Side Show Bob’s knee-caps last season… and certainly remember a fair few lads having a nibble at Kane and Ali’s knee-caps over the last few years… those tackles, as you say, should certainly be punished, not arguments from me… but let’s not pretend KDB is the first “victim” in the history of the game, nor pretend no City player has ever dished it out either!

Ab-Dab… and Captain, Leader Bellend never did it either, did he? Come on pal, there are no innocents on this one, just various levels of guilt. Granted, doesn’t make it right, but whinging about it is just going to make you look a bit of a hypocrite, my cyber chum.
As for you cheating comment above, I would suggest it has always been around, certainly for a few decades at least, but now you have 9,000 camera’s at every match so nobody can really get away with it anymore (yet they still do!).

I think we should all stop playing the “our players get kicked more” record, it’s from the same album as “Their Players Cheat More Than Ours”, “Book Him Ref”, “There Was Contact, Honest”, “Tactical Sub in the 93rd Minute” and “My Throw-in”. Skillful players from all sides get kicked by the oppo’s and if you think your own defenders are “innocent”, then you’re a bit of a numpty. Being nibbled at if you’re a top-dog player has been around since the invention of football boots.

Isn’t Wee Phil younger than Hazard and also have a longer contract? Not going to compare them as players but purely based on those two facts I’d be very surprised if Hazard goes for more than Wee Phil.
And I also doubt very much the younger Real “Can’t Beat Spuds” Madrid are going to offer any youngsters as part of the deal, it will be the likes of Bale, Modders, maybe even Benzema and RonnyII…. not you Disco Isco’s and Assisioenososo’s..

My money’s on the Chav’s get about the same as Pool are getting for Wee Phil… about 120 if you’re lucky! Unfortunately Real “Can’t Beat Spuds” Madrid hold most of the cards in this one… especially when the player has pretty much asked the club to bid for him (although I note with amusement, not an “official” transfer request as he’ll lose money!)
