Probably right Raymondo, but I have to wonder if that were to happen, what would happen to international football? Because I somehow suspect the only card left to play is to ban players in would could be unsanctioned leagues from playing in international football, the national FA’S, UEFA and FIFA are going to want to have their cake and eat it too…

Just a bump for this one…
I was reading a bit more about FFP2.0, it seems rather than link everything to income which is obviously not working, they’re going for a simple “NET SPEND” on transfers approach, with the number of 90 million loss per year being floated about. This would mean if a club spends 200million, they have to sell at least 110 million to stay within the 90 million loss.
Not the worst idea, certainly better than the current system I think.

He’s the footballing equivalent of Kim Kardashian to me, made an excellent career from limited talent and basically grinds my gears every time I see him (or her!).

That “story” has been popping up on a few places (and already denied by BT). I certainly hope it isn’t true and there is a much more “realistic” reason why there was so little added time at the end of the first half.
Another point that may be worth discussing, didn’t one of the Baggie players pick-up a hamstring injury right after a VAR Timeout? I wonder if the hanging around on a cold wintry night may have had anything to do with it?

With a barnet like that I’m supposed he didn’t fly further than Eddie the Eagle ever did… π

You’re right Nil, he didn’t just fall casually to the ground, he managed to fall whilst flicking up both ankles and flinging both arms around in the air like he had been electrocuted… π
We can agree or more likely disagree on whether that was a penalty or not (I still say not), but if you’re going to try and tell me Salah didn’t make a 3 course 5 star meal out of it then I’m going to have to call you rude names and remind you that NKOTB are a bunch of twats.

Don’t actaully remember that part of the passage of play… which is annoying, but if there was an initial shove from Ming the Merciless, then that surely should be the “first” incident?

Got to disagree
NineGoldie, I reckon the ref set the wrong precident with the Salah “incident”… if that’s a penalty, then every corner in every game is going to have the buggers asking for VAR…_____________________________

Gonna play devils advocate here, but the Salah penalty, even with the reply I wouldn’t have given it. It seemed to me he was “theatrically” falling before the cross was even made, let alone made zero attempts to stay on his feet. Even with LiVARpool in action, it was still bloody soft to say the least and I do have a genuine suspicion the reason why it was given was more to do with teh ref deciding if he didn’t give it, heΓ€d have to book Salah for “exxageration”..

Not disagreeing about the poor challenges Big J, just saying your boys aren’t the only ones and I very much doubt there’s a case for Moulder and Scully to solve…

Have to say I think everybody is looking at these “incidents” with rose tinted glasses. I’ve seen a fair few tackles dished out to the Spud lads that were a bit “naughty” (as well as dishing them out too, it must be said), but I don’t agree for one second there’s any sort of “agenda” against the City kids or anybody else for that matter.
In the heat of the moment, or even the height of passion, rash challenges are made, especially by a losing side, so simply logic would say the more successful teams are falling “victim” more often, but such is football…

Dunno Goose.. can’t see Disco Isco or Asensio leaving, Bale-Force is a damp squib these days, Benzema isn’t going to have teams falling over him… doesn’t leave much….

Peggy… yeah, I suppose, but you see that about a billion times a game, start giving them then games are going to finish 24-24 (unless Mega-Tooth is taking them!).
NineGoldie… if you insist! WOOF!I thought the VAR for the third goal was for the initial “lob” over rather than the cross/shoot/goal?
Did they just VAR that last one? Even Stevie Wonder could have seen that was off-side….
And yes, my Spuds were shit earlier…especially the first half, and I think I’ll go all Nil if I ever see that Disco Queen in a Spud shirt again. Apparently that fooker has more appearances than anybody this season, explains it all now…

Evening All…
Not liking this VAR at all… although LiVARpool (see what I did there?) are probably the happier of the two sides, even if they are 3-1 down… the offside was offside, fair enough, and the penalty was a penalty, but this is where it’s going to get messy. ANy attacking player is going to go down under teh merest hint of contact like a 5-dollar whore then ask for VAR… the thing is, what happens about the attacker making a complete meal of it and waving cards about (like Salah)?
ANd I have to say it… 75 million? LOL!!!
