Peggy… I’m open to suggestions mate, it’s a 64 milion dollar question!! For starters, the obvious is allow the review board to review all games, and ANYTHING deemed to be dealt with incorrectly, deal with it in the way of bans, with bans increasing to points deduction for the club if the club has repeat offenders.

Also have a review board that has a pair would be a good idea.

Not much help during the match, granted, but done properly could eventually have teams behaving themselves a bit better.

As for during the match, just keep tinkering with the current VAR, it doesn’t seem to be too bad (not brilliant!) for starting point… although needs to be done about the players appealing everything like they were doing in the first half of the Pool/WBA Cup game.

Not much of a debate, Pegstar, they all do and if anybody claims otherwise then they should be slapped repeatedly with a used nappy until they see common sense.

C-mam, I don’t think I’m wrong when I say just anybody who thinks neither incident wasn’t a penalty is most certainly a LiVARpool fan. I suggest you youtube it before continuing your “I just heard” line of reasoning, my auld cyber chumster!

C-man… as my esteemed colleague Paxo has mentioned, us Spuds have quite rightly condemned Ali for his theatrics, and as for both penalties, there have been plenty of pundits who say the MIB posse got both calls correct. The bigger issue was simply the penalties were of a somewhat equal quality to the recent Hazard/Goonie pen and the Salah/Baggies pen, basically as soft as melted butter. In all four cases, the attacking player made a bit of a meal of it, exaggerated the contact that was made in all four cases, and forced the MIB to make a call.

Personally, I would like to see these type of incidents, where the contact is absolutely minimal and the player acts like a tart, the ref just waves play-on… but until that day happens (with a big IF!), I’ll take ’em given to us as they’ll be given against us.

As for the support of the “victims”? Come on cyber chum, any “victims” of these “soft” penalties are hardly going to be a source of unbiased opinions! 🙂

But we have to remember attendance’s in the 60’s were based on the admission price of a packet of ciggies and a pint, now they’re based on a 3 bedroom semi…

Always fancied the idea of turning Battersea into an NHL arena (why not? NFL is coming!), home of the London Bulldogs or something… now that would have been epic.

Not doubting his ability as a player, he can be cracking when he’s actually playing, but he always seems one tackle away from an injury. Undoubtedly should be on the plane, but I reckon the odds are he’ll be injured before the end of the season and miss the WC to be honest.

Don’t worry Benny, it was the same doctor at hand (he must be based at Anfield, is he on a retainer?) who managed to undislocate both Salah’s shoulders he dislocated after Livermore tugged on his shirt the other week. It used to be a magic-sponge, but now it seems to be a bewitched-whistle that causes these miraculous recoveries…. 🙂

Eddy… whilst a sensible compromise, I can just imagine the chaos if (when) somebody has to moderate NIL when he’s having one of his not-so-good days. I’ll pay to watch but I’m not volunteering! 🙂
