Too true…. been so long I wouldn’t know what to do if we did win a pot!

Fing is, Buffy, the sort of players we would need to improve the 1st 11 are the sort of players who would want CL footy, which we can’t offer this year… unless we offer silly, silly, silly money so they’re basically only coming for the money anyway!

Oh, one other thing cyber chums, is it just Levy who gets stick when he DOESN’T spunk the dosh, and then gets the other end of the same stick when DOES? 🙂

Was being very genric waspy… kinda thinking about last years “squads” with most having hardly any improvements to them… still a long way to go and won’t be making a “proper” prediction until the trasnfer window closes… 🙂
Still think VVD’s legs aren’t what they used to be and Salah’s “heart” isn’t really in it anymore…
Won’t be too many points between us and happy to put some Monster Munch on it!

Looks like Solenko is coming then… can’t be that much worse than Richy, but how much better?

Good lad… feels more like sci-fi than steampunk (Ketty Jay), but kinda does what it says on the tin.

Got a Amazon Gift card to get rid… any series in particular?
Working my way through “Tales of Ketty Jay” series while I work on my “Undercover Chef Chronicles”, featuring Chef Gaston Spanker-Jones… must be something about the mighty Spuds which is giving me the inspiration for that one…
Speaking of which, what can I say? Right now, I think Pool are going to have a “bad” one, VVD and Salah (if he stays) don’t quite look like the players they used to be, combined with a new manager who isn’t Kloop, think they’re going to struggle for Top4…
Villa… did they “win” 4th or did Spuds (losing 5 of the last 7), lose 4th? They seem to be operating under a 1-in-1-out policy… expect to finish above them for sure…
YooUtd… ETH stays… says it all really and the new signings aren’t scaring me… shitty injuries last year, for sure, and a slight improvement but not enough to finish above us…
Jammy Dodgers… all over the place… we finish below them I’ll change my name to Nil
Newcastle… bit of a dark horse, but I think the squad right now will struggle with all the games, a couple of injuries and their season could really go tits up (hopefully).

Not that upset, Buffers, still 23 days to go and still expect one of Tooney/Solenko/David to show up, along with one of Neto/Eze (not that I’d be upset with neither), maybe a young RB and possibly (50/50) a deal with Villa for some sort of swap with Ramsy and Lo Cecil (although I would rather take Watkins to be honest).
I think it was more about getting rid of players first this year, we nearly had about half as many as the Jammy Todgers… 🙂
Mildy optimistic about the season, not catching your mob or the 115, but I reckon 3rd and a couple of semi’s in the Cups isn’t impossible by a long shot.
So, YooUtd pulling pants down again? They still thinking the government is going to pay for their new stadium too? Cheeky buggers!!!

This has to be the most boring transfer window in history…
So, Wee Conner got kicked out his boy hood club and is off to Spain… and that’s about it!

1st August 2024 at 8:32 am in reply to: Very Tough Times In Experience in Living in England, The Country I Love #215178I think we’re a long way from WWIII from starting… anything from Putin’s mouth can be ignored, Russia has had it’s bum spanked in Ukraine (they’re the ones “sueing for peace”, not Ukraine), I wouldn’t worry about the ME too much, any “resonable” amount of chaos there will disrupt the global supply of oil (yes, huge problem for everybody’s economy, but an even bigger problem the ME economy, as they then bascially won’t have one, they will be civil wars all over the place “locally”, the “local” governments can’t afford that!)… the nearest we’ve got to real trouble is potentailly China trying for Taiwan… which I think will turn out very much like Russia/Ukraine… Taiwan (like Ukraine) has been preparing for years for this very “incident” and has spent decades building up defenses… it will be horribly ugly with a hell of a lot of death and misery on both side, but there’s no way China are going to just waltz in and take Taiwan in 48 hrs… Chairman Xi is just spouting nonsense for his followers (like Putin).
That’s my take on it anyway… 🙂

31st July 2024 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Very Tough Times In Experience in Living in England, The Country I Love #215173And yet, statisticly, the world hasn’t seen so few deaths due to war and conflicts since the end of World War II… it’s just that in today’s media frenzy of collectiong “viewers” combined with the world and his dog all having social media platforms, what is happening around the world gets rammed down people’s throats 25 hours a day, 8 days a week.
