And I wouldn’t trust anybody’s “number”, they’re all at it, cooking the books. 🙂

Quite a few clubs haven’t challenged for the title in the last 11 years… 🙂
I’m not saying YooUtd aren’t a big club, I’m just saying they aren’t the ‘biggest’ club in the world. They might have been a few years ago, I’m simply offering a different opinion. Do YooUtd have a lot of fans, more than most clubs? Of course they do, but I don’t see many kids wearing YooUtd shirts these days, with regards to English clubs it’s all 115 and Jammy Todgers, plus your usual Barcas, Madrids, and reasons I don’t quite understand, an awful lot of Bayern shirts where I live.
AS for revenue… Mr. Google just told me my Spuds are ranked 8th in the world… are they the 8th best club in the world? Even I would say no to that… 🙂
(YooUtd were 5th on that list, behind the 115 before you ask!)
Your huge fan base is simply left over from the Fergie years… and it’s not getting any bigger.

Don’t remember any other “big” clubs going for them, and I’m sure the huge wedges YooUtd threw at them had nothing to do with it… there was even a comment somewhere I read today Zirkkee only went because his team pushed him to YooUtd because they were willing to pay higher agents fees than everybody else… and I certainly don’t recall De Light or Ugarte throwing their toys out their pram to join…
I’m fairly certain if YooUtd and the 115 offered the same transfer fee and wages to the same player, that player would be wearing light blue on Saturdays and dodgy tracksuits the rest of the week while humming “Wonderwall”… 🙂
Of course YooUtd are going to attract players, they’re certainly bigger than the vast majority of clubs around, and for the vast amount of players will be a step, but the biggest club in the world guaranteed to attract any player they want? Pull the other one, cyber chum!

Biggest club in the world? Maybe 10 years ago…
You can make a reasonable argument they’re not even the biggest club in Manchester anymore.
For example, the 115 will very likely go out and spend 200 million in Jan, getting 3 or maybe 4 players which would probably walk into every side outside the current Top4 (maybe not Forest)…
Will YooUtd be able to do that? They might have the 200m (ish) but who would want to sign for them? They might get a few “youngsters” but any real “top draw” players? I don’t think so…

Everybody know’s how much I love YooUtd and I’m certainly not sulking about their current predicament, that’s for sure, but I’m thinking part of their problem is thinking they can solve it all by just throwing money at it…
We all know bundles of cash most certainly do help, but in this league their are plenty of other clubs with plenty of cash to throw around (legally or not!), so you also need the two other parts of the trifecta, with is a top draw manager and a top draw recruitment/youth set-up… naturally the jury is out on the manager but I think the biggest issue is, and has been for several years, recruitment… wasting oodles of cash on players based on their CV’s, like Casamrio etc…
Sacking Ruben would be pointless (and as much as I would love it!) I don’t think you’re in much realistic danger of being relegated (as mentioned before there are at least 3 worse teams!)… the only way forward is to understand Ruben needs to get rid of quite a few players, and get in (or actually coach) the players who fit into his system… might be 18 months plus of pure hell (for YooUtd fans!) but I think the dry/rinse/repeat cycle they’ve been doing for a while now is going to do nothing other than a decent cup run or two…
Same thing with Angie really, as much as I’m annoyed with his stubborness, back him with the players he wanted (by all accounts both Gallager and Olise were both ready to sign last summer but it was Levy, no surprise there, who bulked when it came to signing)…

Behave… Pool have that swagger and momentum behind them… they could drop points for sure, but the 2nd and 3rd best teams in London are going to drop even more before seasons out.

Can’t believe he came out and said that, if I’m honest, talk about admitting defeat before a ball is kicked.
Still, can’t see YooUtd getting rid until summer at the earliest, not unless they really are in trouble with relegation but I genuinely can’t see one of the current bottom 3 catching them… I think…. 🙂

Absolutely year of the cock-up…. but like you say, makes it all a bit more interesting than usual. Still, 3 wins on the bounce from anybody 14th upwards would put them right back in the mix and still looks like Top5 will get CL footy this year so everything to play for…
For once, I think the Jan Transfer window could be an important one for a lot of teams!
