I was reading reports from several papers today, that Spurs want to sign Giroud from Chelsea. I hope we are not stupid enough to strengthen a direct rival for top 4. let them seek player elsewhere. do you think Spurs would have sold us had the shoe been on the other foot? the answer is no! they would have done everything in their power to block us from getting him. and I expect nothing less from Chelsea.

In my opinion, this is a step too far. you can’t go and destroy people’s property in the name of football. yes football has passion but this is more than passion, this is hooliganism. i hope Woodward and his family are strong enough to cope with this kind of things. it will be scary for any family to live under threat and football shouldn’t be the dividing factor, it should he the uniting factor

I’m hearing that Frank has asked Marina to prioritise the summer moves for Ziyech and Chilwell. which United are also looking to beat us. Ziyech is a left-footed winger who has a very good range of passing and inch-perfect crosses.someone has finally seen where our problems lie.?

I was reading today that were been offered Piatek from AC Milan. i remember he was once linked with us back last winter transfer window. and we opted not to take him. and one may have to ask why is Milan keen to sell him?

Three days have left so far in January transfer, and I don’t know who Chelsea have gone for, or who we want. that sounds confusing. is it Cavani? is it Dembele? is it Piestek from Milan? unless we have lined up a deal to sign someone. it doesn’t look like we will sign someone this winter.

I hope to get him on loan. there is no way we can pay for him over the odds with little time left and his recent injury record is a concern. he is a prolific goalscorer, yes, but his fitness record is a concern to me. and watching Michy play today makes our search for a striker even urgent. I would prefer us to field Giroud if by Tuesday we don’t pull this deal. at least Giroud is an upgrade to Michy.

Yes, I saw it, and I was planning to resume on the Chelsea site on Monday. I know I’m as guilty as others who disappeared. anyway, I will be there on Monday posting once again as usual. and pardon me, these last few weeks have been tough as I become a father for the first time. I was adjusting to my new role and new responsibility. that site has a special place in my heart. I had been a regular contributor until this season. and I will resume my contributions starting next week.

Loftus-Cheek is a very important player and will prove to a big help to our push for the top 4. at the start I was worried that he will not make into the team as Mount was doing excellent. and Barkley has been good. but now I see him as the solution to our creative and midfield goal scoring problems.

Liverpool not only has the best Keeper and the best CB in the world in Allison and Van Dijk. but also the best two full-backs, and the deadliest football front trio since MSN in Barcelona in 2014/15. they have the best coach in the world currently. while their midfield is still average, they are hard workers. and that is what made it possible for them to succeed and go this unbeaten streak. congratulations to all Liverpool fans here Nil, Sean, Mak, HH, 3ps. enjoy your season and the PL title at the end of the season. Currently, our problems lie in individual mistakes than lack of goals from our midfield. our goalkeeper is pants, I was reading his starts from one website, and they had placed him the ninth-best goalkeeper in the league. that is not enough for a team that is competing for the top 4. also our defense is not stable. and part of that stems out from deploying Jorginho in front of them rather than Kante.

Frank also needs to settle for a midfield two. either it should be Jorginho and Kante or Kante and Kovacic or Kovacic and Jorginho. our back four is not always stable. Frank needs to settle for consistent back four. in this case, Rudiger and Tomori are the best available currently. or Rudiger Zouma is not bad. but I’m not comfortable with Christensen out there. play Barkley 4-6 games in a row. and deploy him in the no 10 positions behind Tammy. and encourage him to shoot and go forward. the only problem is that while Pulisic can contribute goals. he is not Frank’s favorite son. both Willian and CHO don’t contribute enough goals. and both are Frank’s favorite boys and that is where the rain started beating us. we need Willian, but he is not known to score enough goals. so deploy him in the 10 position and let someone who can score goals take that wing and i think our strong interest from Sancho stems from there. but I don’t think we can be stupid enough to brush Willian aside.

Looks like Giroud to Inter transfer is now off as Inter has signed Fernando Lollerente as a backup. and the likelihood is that he will stay at Chelsea. I would rather us try 4-4-2 formation with him playing alongside Abraham. with Kovacic and Kante as the two midfield, plus Willian and Hudson Odoi as the wingers. unless we do that, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 are not working for us.

I don’t know why we are not utilising the services if Giroud since he is in our books. i was hearing the Cavani bid has fallen through. as his father is pushing for Athletico Madrid. Michy is not an answer to our striker problem.

Willian’s performance of late has been disastrous and with him not signing a new contract and so many distractions with teams wanting him. I don’t know why we have not utilized Pedro. at least he runs behind the defenses. that is one thing that our wingers are not good at. only Abraham does and with two or three center-backs marking him. it’s difficult for him. we need someone who can run behind the defenses. these front trios are not doing that. I’m disappointed with Willian because he is our most senior player this season. and his form since Spurs have been patchy so far. Christensen? I’m not still comfortable with him at our back four. bring back Tomori, we are missing his calm head at our back.

Very poor performance again at home and against ten men in the first half is disappointing. another disastrous Kante performance, I’m wondering how long will Lampard keep in the team with that position and that kind of performance? is either he plays in his right position or he benches now. no more option left from here. Emerson has long been dead. so we need to restore Alonso. we have nothing to lose from here. and revert to 3-4-3 formation with Alonso and Reece James as wingbacks. Kante and Kovacic as the two midfielders, and a front trio of anyone who can score goals. I have now understood why we want Cavani! that chance which Michy has squandered in injury time sealed his fate. we cannot be making schoolboy errors and giving teams the opportunity to score against us. at this rate, we risk losing the Europa league if we don’t improve. that is why monthly ranting. otherwise, I hope we improve our attack this month.

Hudson Odoi has shown a lot of promise before his injury. and you would say his chance came as a result of the Bayern bid, the match-going fans and the board who has shown their trust and willingness to keep Hudson Odoi. he has had six goals last season without starting even half a dozen of games. but that unfortunate injury has robbed him of some preseason preparations to understand the system that Frank wants to play. he and Kante are playing catch up in terms of match fitness and tactical understanding of the Frank’s set up.

There is no doubt that if he regains his pre-injury form, Hodson Odoi will be a valuable asset to our push for the top 4 this season. but so far we are only judging him on half a dozen games he has played after returning from that horrible injury, a lot will come from him. but that needs patience and hope that he doesn’t get another injury.

I was reading from somewhere today, that our win percentage with Kante in the side is 29% and without Kante in the side is 71%. this confirms that Kante isn’t doing well at the position that we are utilizing him currently. which means, he should be brought back to the holding role. and bench Jorginho although he hasn’t done anything wrong. and that is the dilemma that Lampard has. In the current form, Willian doesn’t deserve a new contract. unless he replicates his pre-Christmas form. I would play Alonso and back three against Arsenal. at least Alonso will give us a goal threat.

The attack is the best form of defence for this team. it has been proven over and over against Bournemouth, and now against Newcastle. teams know if they frustrate us they have a chance. and Steve Bruce used similar tactic as that of Eddie Howe. we never seem to learn from our mistakes. there is no point in playing Kante in that advanced role anymore. he is disrupting our rhythm. play Barkley or whoever is capable there. just play Kante in his natural position. or take the bull by the horn and bench him for Jorginho. when both of these players playing in the same team they are just a liability to us. i can’t believe i would say this. but one has got the technique but not the physicality and pace whilst the other got the physicality and pace but not the technicality.

And people are saying we need attack all day. but how many chances have we created for our striker today? well going back to the drawing board is the only way. we no longer have Hazard, and we are attacking with 4 rather than 6 as Liverpool and City do. replace not only Hazard but also Fabregas who would have unlocked this type of opposition.
