My God! what is going on with the mind of our defenders. we had been fortunate to go 1-3 at half time. once again our attack is potent enough to bail us out. credit goes to Jorginho who cleared one off the line. can’t complain attacking wise, but defensively i have a few issues though.

Well, Mak perfection is always good. but if Liverpool draws here, it will not be the end of the world for them. after all no team have won more games than you did, and you took points 2 of the top 6 teams already. i would love to be in your position at the minute.

It’s safe to say that of all the signings that the top 6 clubs made this summer. Adrian and Daniel James stands out, the rest has been either average or below average. Kovacic was signed this summer but i’m counting him as a summer signing because he has had a season at Chelsea before his move. i can’t remember a summer so disastrous for the top 6 teams as this summer. it’s early days and some players may come good. but at the minute things are not looking good. even in Europe things are like that. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletico has been facing this. only Inter and Juventus has done a shrewd business. especially Inter because they have one of the best coaches in the world. he is a coach that i admire with what he has done at his previous clubs.

Spurs 2-0 dow at Brighton? what the hell is going on in Pochottino’s mind? is he eying the United position? because there is no way that Spurs will let him go without being compensated or they may not even agree. so is he playing a game here? any way it’s too early to judge him.

Southampton away is a tricky match most think. and they need the points. so i wouldn’t say it will be a walk over. but after back to back wins in the league and CL ajd on top of that the league cup win. i think the confidence will be high for this match. i would start the same team that started against Brighton. only CHO for Barkley and i will move Mount to the no 10 position. that is where he is at his devastating best. Zouma out for Christensen. i hope we won’t face a banana skin.fingers crossedβ. i would also be backing Liverpool to beat Leicester. at this minute i see Leicester as a threat more than Liverpool.?

The rules in Real Madrid are simple. in order to have a chance you need to hit the ground running immediately. or you won’t have any chance. Kaka was the same age as Hazard when he has joined Real Madrid. and we know how his story ended. i hope Hazard won’t face similar fate and he comes good for them. because we have unfinished business with Real Madrid. a performing Hazard could net us an extra Β£50m. but i’m still not sure after watching him a few ganes.?

I have to say that, i’m happy for the win last night. how much we needed that? now we go against Ajax with a good motivation. then again the issue of set-piece has been our undoing. but thankfully we managed to pull another rabbit out of the hat. but our defensive problem has now been narrowed down to set-pieces. that is a good step in the right direction. also i have been impressed with Zouma last night. especially his performance in the second half had been encouraging. he has been winning all of his aerial duels in the second half. his confidence is coming back little by little. and may be that injury has made him lose a yard of his pace. plus he has Tomori who is also an excellent defender next to him.
I was happy for Willian who had been getting the stick from some Chelsea fans. he seems to be spending more time in the box now. and that is one influence that Frank is having on him. and he has now scored back to back goals, and huge ones. if Frank can continue to get the best out of him and CHO who has now two assists and a goal in 3 games since his return. then we could be into something. the young lad James has also been impressive, although he was nervous at a times, but with time and more games, he will be a natural successor to Azpi for sure.
Alonso seems to have worked on his defensive deficiency, but still he lack pace, but he is a vital cog in the Lampard set up. and the fact that he now has Tomori who is vigilant enough and not Luiz is a plus for him. his attacking runs are very important. And finally, i have seen the old Kepa now,he is also hitting form at the right time. he has saved us many times. and a little bit of fun, Courtois got sick when he conceded his 57th and 58 goals in 43 appearances for Real Madrid? it’s now official all of the established players who have left us are all struggling. Courtois, Matic, Luiz, Hazard, Mata makes you wonder is Marina this genius or is it a coincidence?

Seems after his injury and lack of preseason, Willian is hitting form at the right time. i have always believed in him and defended him. he seems to be taking more shots on goals than ever before, may be that is one influence from Lampard. his workrate has always been superb. and he seems to be adding an end product. may be this direct football that Frank is implementing suits him, than the previous systems. and let us not forget that he offers that experience. most of those player around him in attack are young, so he is vital. if Frank gets double figures from him this season, our chances will look good.

I wouldn’t say it’s a Liverpool, Chelsea and United forum here. there is a large City contingent here also. yes i would admit that Arsenal aren’t well represented here. but with time and as the word spreads. i think we will see many Arsenal fans joining it.

Yes! i would also reiterate what my other fellow Chelsea lads have posted. we seem to be getting the required numbers now in the forum. before, Lucky, Chelsea1967, Blaze we had very much been in the minority with Nine, Pagan, 442, Moos, and myself representing the blue flag here.
I would also suggest, that it’s never too late to dream. i also share the sentiments and let us not dampen people’s spirits. none of us has a crystal ball here. we are all hopeful. and i also believe the future is bright for chelsea.

Well, Rashford is also shocking Sean. Solskajaer could be under pressure should United fail to score enough goals. why did he let Lukaku ajd Sanchez at the same transfer window and never replace them?

Nine
Β£80m for Maguire and Β£8m for Luiz. Arsenal got the better deal there.?

That is the good side of VAR now. without VAR Arsenal would have been denied a legitimate goal.

Just watching United and Goons, and i’m seeing two teams who are lacking quality in midfield.

We have Brighton in our hands. which Chelsea will turn up for this match is unknown? will we see the Chelsea of the second half against Sheffield United? will we see the Chelsea of the second half Against Liverpool? either way i’m hoping for the best. some injury boost ahead of this game. both Giroud and Christensen are back. CHO and and Reece James are also in contention. Emerson, Rudiger and RLC are definitely out in this clash. many of those who sat out on Wednesday could be restored. hope we win to gain some advantage as one of our top 6 rivals will drop points or may be both.

Yes Nine, i would also prefer them. but if you want to win, you need to face the best teams.

They are trying to create some excitement in the cups. because the atmospheres has been dull. and clubs are reluctant to play their best players. i understand why they would want these big games to attract crowds and media attention therefore creating a buzzing atmosphere. but my only regret is why didn’t they put like this City vs Liverpool, Chelsea vs Arsenal. those ties would have generated some interesting media headlines.

It’s early days and more tests lie on the way. but we have one hell of a right back at Reece James. this young man is very strong and fast. and i have to say Azpi has to produce the goodies week in week out to keep this young man at bay. and the goal he has scored tonight was fantastic. and attacking right back with pace and physicality is all we have lacked since the departure of Ivanovic. Ross Barkley, Michy Batshuayi, Callum Hudson Odoi, and the young Billy Gilmour has made their case to be considered for the Brighton match.

Some interesting fixtures on the EFL cup. Chelsea vs United, Liverpool vs Arsenal. why do City always get lucky with cups? i haven’t seen them facing bigger teams unless it’s a final? last season we faced Liverpool and Spurs. this season we already have United in our hands. anyway that is a joke. but they are playing a trick to create excitement. because the league cup has been dull.

Nobody is playing a victim here. it was a case of people always pointing fingers at City and Chelsea when it comes to spending power. and until i saw those figures i never thought United were anywhere near what both clubs have spent in recent years. so that was why i was surprised to see 5 Million only separate between United and Chelsea. and i was seeking clarification if those figures were accurate. i’m no one to play victim or moan about transfers or money spent either.
And these days no one can say they have built team with a modesty budget. your team also wasn’t far from the rest. as your figures also stated closer to 700 million.
