Completely agree Chucky. Henderson has to be stronger there.

Looked very soft that Alfie. No way that’s a foul at the other end.

It’s silly CM. There’s seemingly no topic which doesn’t end in “but look at Utd, though”. I wouldn’t mind but we’re our own club’s biggest critics so I’m not sure of the point which is attempting to be proven.
“Fulham weren’t great last night”
“Yeah but Utd were even worse 3 weeks ago!” π ._____________________________

Ed I only quoted what ETH had spent after CM quoted what Ange had spent.
No I understand what you did Paul. I’m just struggling to understand the relevance of what Ten Hag has spent when Ange was the topic being discussed π. Why Ten Hag? Why not Poch for example?

Ed, difference with Ange is that you can at least see a plan with him and a style of play that the players have bought into, even if he can be rather naive at the back. And whether heβs being too insistent on playing it out at the back as he did vs us yesterday, or the players are to blame I donβt know.
But with Ten Hag, itβs very hard to discern what the plan is bar just trying to be a good counter attacking team. One might argue Ten Hag is just playing the cards heβs been given but the problem is heβs signed quite a few of these players over a few seasons and they havenβt really delivered.
Again, I don’t understand what the whole Ange debate has to do with Ten Hag? π. Why must everything be compared to Ten Hag? Sure, Ange has a plan. So did Bielsa and we used to expose it every time we played his teams. Used to love playing his sides. Me having a go at Ange doesn’t mean I think Ten Hag is better or particularly good. This is about Ange though, not Ten Hag.

Look at how Ten Hag was brought in to do an interview with Carragher and Neville after that awful start last season and again now with Neville. When will Poch or Ange get that treatment? Yes, the pressure is always going to be bigger on a Utd manager and you know that when you take the job but some kind of equal treatment in the media would be nice.

Are you forgetting ETH has spent between Β£400-500M since heβs been there and are imo in a worse position since Ole got sacked.Only a freak season from Rashford with his goals last season
have papered over the cracksWhat made you think anyone had forgotten that Paul? Utd fans have been extremely critical of Ten Hag’s transfer dealings. Not sure what that’s got to do with Spurs though π. CM is spot on re Ange. He gets an easy ride in the media because he says “mate” after every sentence and because he manages Spurs. Same goes for Poch. Ten Hag has been hammered by the media and rightly so.

Oh he deserves time Mav for sure. It was just the usual massive over reaction after he won a few games in the beginning which was a joke.

Hang on CM, didn’t Ange win the league with Spurs in September?! π . They’re an absolute shambles at the back. I got loads of stick for suggesting it might be worth waiting a bit longer before giving him too much praise. The way the media and some Spurs fans went on about that first few weeks was completely ridiculous.

Arnie could very well be an Angie
Here’s hoping Chucky π.
I don’t believe the rumours that Ten Hag could stay. I think the decision has been made already that he’ll go. That’s certainly the impression I’ve got from the usually reliable people I follow. 100% rather that than Southgate though. They’d never purposely leak info that he’s due to be sacked when there’s a cup final to play.

Tuchel is now the favourite and multiple reports suggest talks have taken place. Considering the alternatives now available (Motta has pretty much agreed to go to Juve and the thought of Southgate is scary) and considering Bayern could well still win the CL this season, I’m actually warming to the idea of Tuchel and I never thought I’d say that.

No worries Paul. I’d be the same if it was the other way around π.
Yeah no doubt about the fact I’d stick with ETH over Southgate. I know a lot who say the same so I’m surprised I’m the first you’ve heard that from. ETH has done some crazy things this season and seems incapable of learning from his mistakes but his Ajax side were brilliant to watch and he’s got us to 3 finals in 2 seasons. He took Ajax to a CL semi and kept them being competitive in the CL, winning all 6 group games just a couple of years after that semi run, one of very few sides to have done that. What has Southgate done in club football by comparison?
Ten Hag has been working within absolute mess of a club since he came in. I now remain unconvinced that he can be successful at Utd but he’s certainly not been working within a solid foundation and one which is built to thrive.
My money would currently be on Tuchel or Potter, neither of which particularly excite me. Either way, Ten Hag is gone this summer.

Moyes? Absolutely zero chance of him getting another big job. I think he’s done a very good job at West Ham but he’s shown he can’t cut it at the top. Would you take Moyes to replace Pep when he calls it a day Paul?

I’d 1000% keep Ten Hag over bringing in Southgate Paul. He’s decent enough for England but club football is entirely different. Potter I’d be open to giving a chance to but that wouldn’t excite me, to be honest.

I do often wonder how successful Liverpool would have been without that structure around Klopp. Considering he supposedly didn’t want Salah or Alisson but was overruled, would they have still got that league title? I’m not convinced. That has been one of the problems for Ten Hag at Utd. There’s been nobody there to say no to the likes of Antony. Recruitment is a huge factor in terms of determining a manager’s success. The next Liverpool manager is fortunate to come into a well oiled machine in that regard and Utd are fortunately also building a solid structure there too which, imo, is more critical than whoever comes in as the next head coach.

The only reason Southgate’s name is mentioned is because Dave Brailsford is close to him. Look at Slot at Liverpool. He wasn’t the favourite for the role at Liverpool until the media got wind of the news. I expect much the same at Utd. They have no idea who will replace Ten Hag, much like they had no idea about Berrada coming in until it was announced.
Though I can understand you’d be delighted if he did come in π.

Brighton have fallen away a lot recently so I’d be concerned about going for De Zerbi now, who was my first choice until recently. I’d be tempted to go for someone like Motta at Bologna.

It won’t be Southgate, that’s for sure. No reliable source is reporting there’s anything in that whatsoever.
Tuchel would be a big no from me. How do you get the players onside after coming in from the shame of not winning the Bundesliga after Bayern had won 11 in a row?
Very few options out there.

Give it a rest Nil. Absolutely nothing to comment about my own team tonight. We’ve nothing to play for and won after another average performance. Liverpool are (were) in a title fight and the only side playing for anything of note tonight
