Ah ed can they sack without really giving the players he signed in the summer time to settle?
I’d agree with you Sean if we were getting these results and it was his first season but he’s 3 seasons in. It’s totally unacceptable. The players aren’t blameless but I think they’ve just lost confidence in his ideas. It doesn’t take much of a drop off in desire and motivation with the type of football we play for it to be disastrous.
Give it Ruud until the end of the season and spend the rest of the season just planning the next appointment. Nagelsmann would be my ideal choice.

Congrats Chucky. Just awful from us. No excuses. He has to go now. Not even bothered about the harsh red because we were every bit as shite with 11 men

I do think that’s the kind of situation where a second yellow shouldn’t mean a red. There should be some punishment which isn’t a sending off, be it a sin bin or whatever. It’s completely ruined the game as a spectacle and just turned it into attack vs defence.

Pep kicking the chair was hilarious π. They need a bit more drama these rivalries. Always found the Pep-Klopp rivalry as dull as dishwater. Far too much hugs and high fives.

Hard to see Arsenal hanging on for the rest of the game now with 10 men. Full credit to them if they can.
Yeah thought Utd were very good yesterday and unlucky to only get a point. Martinez absolutely crazy for going in with that 2 footer. Was lucky he didn’t touch the Palace player.

I think he’s had a big wake up call coming to the PL having only managed in much smaller leagues previously and his stubbornness will likely be his downfall. Going around talking about how he ALWAYS wins trophies in his second season is comical when taken you consider the leagues he’s managed in compared to where he is now. No idea how he escapes media scrutiny like he does.

This will be a fun one to look back on at the end of the season π. Someone needs to tell him he’s not managing in the Australian league any longer
Ange Postecoglou when asked if Spurs can win a trophy this season: βI donβt usually win things, I ALWAYS win things in my second yearβ.

People were getting carried away by Slot’s start as expected. Today isn’t a disaster by any means but it’s a wake up call for those thinking Slot would just stroll in and pick up from where Klopp left off.
City seemed like they were hanging on in that first half with Brentford seemingly controlling the game at the Etihad.
As for us, appalling first half hour. We sorted ourselves out after that and looked really comfortable even before the red. It changes nothing though. Consistency is the only thing going to save Ten Hag, not one-off performances like this one.

Fair enough Sean. I know you’re not one to get carried away, ever π.
Yeah CM, if he doesn’t find some magic solution during that spell, he’s surely a goner

CM, he’s had more than enough time now. You can’t be losing 0-3 at home to your closest rivals this long into the job regardless of circumstances. He’s got all the players he wanted pretty much, spent loads on absolute shite. Zero signs of progress whatsoever

You don’t think the new manager bounce is a thing Sean? There are plenty of stats to back it up. Happens all the time

So so early to start hailing Slot as better than Klopp Mikus. Look At Spurs this time last season. Everyone was getting carried away by them. Liverpool enjoying the new manager bounce now as expected and will be judged properly by the end of the season. Positive signs but we’ve seen this so often with new managers

What a shitshow from Utd. Same number of shots on target. We have more expected goals, more of the ball yet stupid defensive mistakes cost us again. Casemiro an absolute joke. Ten Hag won’t go because of this but he absolutely should. Not a single good individual performance today from Utd.
Congrats to the Liverpool fans.

Yeah sad news. Kudos to Liverpool for allowing him to realise his dream of managing them at Anfield not so long ago. RIP

I predicted Chelsea and Liverpool would get off to fliers with the new manager bounce and they’ve done exactly that. Those two will be impossible to judge properly until at least after Christmas I reckon. This time last season, Spurs had already won the league remember?! π.
As for us, I think Ten Hag will be gone before Christmas with Ruud stepping in. Not convinced there’s enough of a change since last season but I hope I’m wrong.

Not convinced by Ugarte either CM. Looked like a good prospect at Sporting Lisbon but has massively regressed since going to PSG. With that said, PGS (a bit like us at times) can be a bit of a graveyard for big prospects who go there. He does well for Uruguay by all accounts but then so does Pellistri who has always looked average when given the chance for us. We’re signing some proper players at youth level but I think it will be a while before we start to see the benefits of the improved structure at the club in terms of recruitment at senior level.

Martinez didnβt look completely sharp yesterday Sean, admittedly and had a couple of mistakes. Aside from those mistakes, there are few better than him at playing those line breaking passes from deep and the way he resists the press as good as any defender in the league for me. With sharpness, heβll be so important to our build up. Genuinely wouldnβt swap him for any defender in the league and thereβs nobody else in our side I could say that for. Proper warrior as well

Happy with that in the end. Still some problems there but as Alfie said, we lose that game last season. The difference a fit Martinez makes to this side is amazing. Mazraoui looks an absolute bargain also at β¬15mil
