Yeah interesting choice Chucky. I’m always wary when a manager isn’t that well known despite being nearly 60. Certainly not well know prior to his spell at Celtic, which in itself is a very difficult gauge of ability. Done a decent job there but a massive step up to the PL.
PPT, yeah interesting choice ahead now for Kane. Real would surely love to get him in and it would suit Spurs to get a good fee for him while also avoiding the risk of him going to another PL team. Will he be prepared to give up the PL goal record though?

Did you see this lot. Another bunch of scumbags. “Munich, Munich!”. What’s wrong with people?!
Another video of Manchester City fans from yesterday at Wembley.
Throwing bottles on to the tube when women and kids are there then chants of "Munich, Munich"

4th June 2023 at 8:53 pm in reply to: FA Cup 2023 – Manchester City V Manchester United – Saturday 3pm #207267To clarify, my point with the penalties thing isn’t to point out any injustices on Utd’s part or suggest City get most decisions. It’s to completely debunk the ridiculous theory that Adlab seems to have that City are unlucky with refereeing decisions and that the whole world are against City and Utd somehow get away with things. As is always the case with his little rants, asking him to back them up with any numbers tends to put a stop to the rants and moans.

3rd June 2023 at 5:49 pm in reply to: FA Cup 2023 – Manchester City V Manchester United – Saturday 3pm #207233City get more pens than anyone Adlab 😄. This feeling that you’re always hard done by is laughable. I wouldn’t mind but you never have any numbers to back up your arguments. You seem to think Utd get every decision and City get none but you’ve had more than 3x as many pens as us this season

Enjoy it instead of trying to find anything you can to blame it on. Nobody has been awarded more pens than City this season and nobody has been awarded less pens than Utd.

3rd June 2023 at 5:01 pm in reply to: FA Cup 2023 – Manchester City V Manchester United – Saturday 3pm #207225Congratulations to the City fans on here. Shame about the idiot who threw something at Lindelof. They had far too much for us.
Treble incoming albeit it was always only a matter of time with the resources City have.

1st June 2023 at 1:19 pm in reply to: FA Cup 2023 – Manchester City V Manchester United – Saturday 3pm #207198Safe to say I don’t fancy us. Tbh I’m just glad the final isn’t the last leg of the treble. The treble which the media has already given City a number of weeks ago. Would have been tough if the final was what won them the treble. At least if/when they beat us, we can hide away from all tv screens on the day of the CL final and not see our match as the deciding one. With De Gea in goal, I feel we’d have to win it in normal time anyway, which makes it even tougher. De Gea can’t save pens at all.

I agree Sean. He’s done absolutely everything he can possibly do by himself and has no doubt been given all kinds of reassurances about top managers and top players coming in yet Spurs aren’t matching his ambitions. If the chance of the goals record wasn’t there, I think he’d go abroad but Spurs fans can’t begrudge him a move and, in doing so, must understand his willingness to get that record and thus stay in the league. If he walks away on a free, the only person to blame is Daniel Levy.

Walking out and joining YooUtd (regradless of the fee) would put the biggest dent in his legacy with us
Surely Chelsea would be a harder one to take than Utd? That Chelsea-Spurs rivalry is one I’ve always found a bit weird. Sometimes it feels like they can’t stand each other and they’ve been fighting around similar league positions for a long time. Yet, there seems to be no problem moving from one of them to the other. Managers switch between them without any issue (Conte, Mourinho, AVB, Poch, Glenn Hoddle to name a few). I can’t for the life of me imagine Liverpool’s best manager of recent times going to Utd or vice versa like Poch and Mourinho have done. Are rivalries just a bit tame down south or what?! 😂

There was an interesting debate on the radio last night about Kane and Haaland. They were asking the question of whether both would score as many as they did if they swapped teams. As incredible as Haaland was, he still “only” finished 6 PL goals ahead of Kane. Would Kane get 36 goals in that City side? I think he would without any hesitation. Would Haaland get 30 goals in that Spurs side? It’s hard to say, as I think he relies more on the service than Kane does. Tough one but both have been immense this season.

Kane to Abu Dhabi Chucky? How you working that one out? Kane has 1 option this season if he wants to get the PL goals record and that’s Utd. Saudi Arabia might be able to tempt him, mind. That would be some statement by them now they have CL football. Next season, assuming Poch gets Chelsea performing, I wouldn’t rule out Kane to Chelsea. Of course, it’s all about what is more important to him, trophies or the goals record. He could easily guarantee trophies by going to Bayern, Real Madrid or PSG, all of whom would take him in a heartbeat.
So, imo he needs to pick between trophies (Real, Bayern, PSG) or the goals record and a slightly higher chance of trophies than at Spurs (Newcastle, Utd, Chelsea) or he stays put and becomes a hero, the record goalscorer but pretty much says no thanks to winning anything.

Yeah Sean, looks that way. Think we were both after Mount and Mac Allister and looks like one chose Liverpool and the other chose Utd.
Yeah I’d imagine so Chucky. Love Eriksen but his legs can’t handle 2 90min games a week.

Spot on in your last paragraph Threeps. I think there are times when net spend is worthwhile looking at. For example, Southampton down the years who have always had to sell their best players which, in turn, means having to replace them is always going to mean their gross spend will be higher than teams around and above them. It wouldn’t be fair to judge them on gross spend alone as they’ve been forced into the market. The likes of City stockpiling young players and selling them to enable them to spend more is not the same. Net spend also doesn’t take into account things like the unprecedented agent fee involved in the Haalaand deal nor does it take into account the vast sums of money paid into improving the facilities at City, all factors taken into account when a player is deciding which club to join. If a player has 2 choices for the same amount of money and 1 has spent hundreds of millions on state of the art modern facilities, the player will obviously choose that club. That also enables the club to have a lower net spend. What a club has spent is such a complex formula because there are so many variables that are more or less relevant depending on each scenario. All too often, these variables are cherry picked to suit an argument. What can’t be argued is that only Saudi Arabia canvompete going forward with Abu Dhabi in terms of financial might. Shouting about net spend is missing the point completely.

Yeah I wonder why you want to cap it at the last 5 years Adlab 😕😄. Of course you don’t need to spend much now. You’ve stocked up on players over the years through heavy spending meaning you can just sell players who aren’t good enough and keep your net spend low. Here’s a much longer term view:
