Welcome to the site Hightown Hope. Good to get see a Liverpool fan on board. Feel free to spread the word amongst your fellow fans. I’ll happily do club pages if the demand is there.
I didn’t know he’d scored that many at Roma. He looked completely lost at Chelsea but the signs suggest he’s a completely different player now. Mourinho gets rightly slated for discarding Lukaku and De Bruyne too early at Chelsea. It may well be that Salah is soon added to that list, assuming it was Mourinho who sold him(?).
Are you that confident on VVD? Wasn’t the message from Liverpool that they were dropping all interest in him earlier in the summer after the tapping up claims? He’ll be a big, big signing for your lot if so.

Is that what they’re saying Alfie, that the Qataris are funding the move? If true, it makes you wonder what all the fuss was about FFP in the first place.
If PSG can pull off a move as big as this and still fall within the accepted limits, it makes a mockery of the whole FFP idea. As you say, a fine is surely the most pointless deterrent possible for someone who has a bottomless supply of money.

Welcome to the site Alfie.
Can’t believe it’s here again now. The summer seems to have flown by and I’ve actually quite enjoyed the break from football but I’m glad it’s back.
As for the game, I fancy Arsenal again. They’re the masters of turning on the style when the odds are against them. They’ve not really made any exciting signings but, as you say, their 3 at the back seemed to be the turning point for them last season and they looked a different side after the switch.
Will be nice to see it as a neutral anyway!

Great final. Wonder if it will be enough to see Wenger get a new contract. The rest of the league is certainly hoping that’s the case! Chelsea seemed to lack ideas. They seem much less effective when they come up against sides playing the same system as them. Wenger may have just stumbled upon a new formula which gets the best from his team

A few teams turned on the style for the last day of the season. Kane with 29 goals in 30 games. What incredible form he is in. They’re another team to be feared next season although the move to Wembley may just be enough if a distraction to make them struggle to do better than this term
Diego Costa wonβt extend his contract with AtlΓ©tico Madrid. Heβs set to leave the club in January – or next June as a free agent if no bids will arrive next month. π΄βͺοΈ @MatteMoretto #Atleti #AtleticoMadrid

I also fancy Arsenal for the cup. They have a tendency to turn on the style when all seems lost. It would be typical of them to scrape 4th and get the cup.

That really was painful @cantona How much longer will the Utd fans be willing to accept that style of football? You’d expect them to start playing a bit more freely once they get another trophy under their belts I suppose

Chelsea so clinical again yesterday. They will be deserved champions. Their counter attacking is brilliant as is their organisation in defence. Well done Chelsea!

Disappointing to see Monaco all but drop out last night. You don’t see many teams go to Juventus and pull back a lead like that on their own patch, though they’ll no doubt give it a go. Over to the Europa now. No excuse for United to not get a good result tonight

Well if today’s football is half as good as last night’s boxing, we’re in for a treat!
Every game today crucial in either the title race or the race for top 4. Let’s hope there’s plenty of goals

Rob,
After this week, a lot is still yet to be decided. Spurs just keep hanging on in there. I still don’t think Chelsea will drop enough points to let Spurs in. Spurs have tough games against Arsenal and Utd, both of whom badly need to keep winning to keep their own top 4 hopes alive. We’re in for an exciting end to the season, which is great for the neutrals. Not so great for those of us attached to any of those clubs fighting for the spots!
United were poor last night but they’ll be delighted to have got away from the Etihad with a point. It could prove to be a huge point but there’s no getting away from their lack of ambition which made for a dreadful game.

That “dive” from Sanchez yesterday was ridiculous. There’s making a meal of a hard challenge and there’s just plain cheating. Horrible from a player I usually like. Arsenal kept themselves in the race for top 4 with that win though. Whatever happens tonight, Arsenal will be closer to one of the Manchester clubs by the end of it. I imagine they’d probably prefer a draw

It’s almost impossible to compare players from different eras I feel. The only thing you can really compare is their impact & influence on their respective eras. Messi and Ronaldo are clearly way ahead of the rest currently and you’d have to argue that their influence and impact on the game today is probably as big, if not bigger, than those of Pele or Maradona. For me, Messi is on another planet and easily the best player of his generation.

@Rover Bond
Completely agree. I have a feeling Arsenal may just do it though. Arsene generally always manages to find a way out of a sticky situation and an FA Cup win may just keep him hanging on. I wouldn’t even put it past Arsenal sneaking into the top 4 and winning the FA Cup. That’d no doubt keep him there for a bit longer I feel, which is good news for the rest of the league!
Spurs will definitely become a real threat in the league if they can somehow keep up this form. It’s going to be a tight finish no doubt

@Rob Spurs certainly had most of the ball. Chelsea, as they have done all season, took their chances well and will only care about the result. As C.B said, what a fantastic first season it would be for Conte if they could win the double

Thanks for the feedback. We do plan on adding more Euro leagues and fixtures etc. That shouldn’t be too far away now. Other than that, we don’t intend to make too many changes unless our users feel it’s necessary.
As for your other suggestions, this site is in no way associated with TeamTalk so we have no way of accessing their email lists. We’re glad you decided to join us here and hopefully we will see the number of site users grow. Feel free to spread the word amongst your fellow football fans.
Gossip/news is not something we’re currently looking at but maybe that will be possible further into the future. Thanks again and keep posting!

@Ricoh Welcome to the forum!
Definitely tough on Dortmund. 2 great games between Monaco and Dortmund, either of which would have made a great final. I’d love to see Monaco go and win the thing now but I personally think this is Juve’s year. They’ve been knocking on the door now for a few years but the way they took Barca apart showed me they have progressed even further. I don’t want to see Real Madrid win it so any of the others are fine by me but I’ll stick my neck out and go for Juve. How about you?
