Not something I’ve done before but your choices for this season probably won’t be far off. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Leeds doing well this season. I also fancy Bradford for League One as they seem to keep getting close but never quite make it. My tip for the Premier League is probably still City.
What odds did you get on all those coming in?

Just spotted that one! Probably not all that surprising. Still, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll go. On a positive note, it must surely mean Liverpool will have lots of cash to blow in the final few weeks of the window. They will badly need a marquee signing. Aubameyang would have been a good one but he seems to have committed to Dortmund now. Surely Liverpool won’t go all out for Mbappe?

I’d agree with you Hightown that Coutinho is far from a direct replacement for Neymar. The thing is, I’m not sure if there is one. With Barca seemingly after ex Spurs midfielder Paulinho, 29, added to the loss of Neymar you have to wonder if they’re losing their way a bit as a top club. The ideal replacement from the brand perspective would be a Hazard or Dybala type of signing but I’m not convinced they’d be able to tempt either of those to join at the moment.
Jesus at City would probably have been the more likely heir to Neymar’s throne had he had a couple of decent PL seasons under his belt. Coutinho is a great player and while maybe not being the perfect fit to fill Neymar’s shoes, he may be all they have left to go for.

Do you think you’ll manage to hang onto Coutinho Hightown? It’s looking less and less likely

Doesn’t look like Sanchez will make it. Hazard, Costa, Bakayoko all out too. Will be good to see the two new strikers in Morata and Lacazette coming up against each other at least. Let’s hope both teams treat it as a proper game rather than a warm-up like we so often see.

The Times this morning reporting that Chelsea are set to rival Liverpool for VVD and are offering Β£50mil. Is this potentially one of those where one club gets a discounted price on another club’s target allowing the selling club to make a point about conduct etc?
If so, Chelsea would be doing quite well out of that strategy this summer, having already seemingly benefited from bad blood between Real and Utd by getting Morata for a fair bit less than what Utd were reportedly offering.

Score predictions for this one?
I’m saying 2-1 Arsenal to win in extra time.

Matic is a funny one Alfie. The Chelsea fans seem really mixed on the idea of him having joined Utd. He looked brilliant when he first came back to Chelsea then be seemed to struggle to find that form again, although he remained a mainstay in the side. He could well be a big signing for this season.

Blaze, good to see you back. I had to take the site down as a temporary measure as I just didn’t have the time to put into driving new traffic to the site. Glad to hear the good feedback. Don’t forget to spread the word amongst your fellow fans. We’ll be doing what we can here to get new posters involved

Blaze, money is almost certainly the main driving factor here as well as the chance to be the main man at a top CL club. For clubs like PSG the domestic leagues are becoming less and less significant as the CL is the big prize.

Paxton, good to see you back.
You make a fair point, although I’m sure even Utd and Chelsea fans would agree that Lukaku and Morata were made over priced. Completely agree though that, in relative terms, the Neymar fee is not as outrageous as it probably seems. It’s a hell if a jump from the Pogba fee but Neymar is without doubt the most marketable player in the world right now. Smart, if somewhat overpriced, move by PSG which puts them very much back on the elite map

Welcome to the site Hightown Hope. Good to get see a Liverpool fan on board. Feel free to spread the word amongst your fellow fans. I’ll happily do club pages if the demand is there.
I didn’t know he’d scored that many at Roma. He looked completely lost at Chelsea but the signs suggest he’s a completely different player now. Mourinho gets rightly slated for discarding Lukaku and De Bruyne too early at Chelsea. It may well be that Salah is soon added to that list, assuming it was Mourinho who sold him(?).
Are you that confident on VVD? Wasn’t the message from Liverpool that they were dropping all interest in him earlier in the summer after the tapping up claims? He’ll be a big, big signing for your lot if so.

Is that what they’re saying Alfie, that the Qataris are funding the move? If true, it makes you wonder what all the fuss was about FFP in the first place.
If PSG can pull off a move as big as this and still fall within the accepted limits, it makes a mockery of the whole FFP idea. As you say, a fine is surely the most pointless deterrent possible for someone who has a bottomless supply of money.

Welcome to the site Alfie.
Can’t believe it’s here again now. The summer seems to have flown by and I’ve actually quite enjoyed the break from football but I’m glad it’s back.
As for the game, I fancy Arsenal again. They’re the masters of turning on the style when the odds are against them. They’ve not really made any exciting signings but, as you say, their 3 at the back seemed to be the turning point for them last season and they looked a different side after the switch.
Will be nice to see it as a neutral anyway!

Great final. Wonder if it will be enough to see Wenger get a new contract. The rest of the league is certainly hoping that’s the case! Chelsea seemed to lack ideas. They seem much less effective when they come up against sides playing the same system as them. Wenger may have just stumbled upon a new formula which gets the best from his team

A few teams turned on the style for the last day of the season. Kane with 29 goals in 30 games. What incredible form he is in. They’re another team to be feared next season although the move to Wembley may just be enough if a distraction to make them struggle to do better than this term

I also fancy Arsenal for the cup. They have a tendency to turn on the style when all seems lost. It would be typical of them to scrape 4th and get the cup.
