As bad a start as we’ve had, the fact we’re only a point behind Spurs and 4 behind top 4 means this season is far from a write off just yet for us. Still all to play for.

Spurs will be fine. Ange ALWAYS wins things in his second season 🙄

6th November 2024 at 3:21 pm in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #216396Yeah it was a joke Sean seeing Cotterill trying to get a reaction out of Amorim. Thought Amorim dealt with it really well. He did something similar with Ten Hag when he arrived. Can’t stand the guy

5th November 2024 at 9:48 pm in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #2163783 defeats in a row for City now. So weird Alfie that Noel Gallagher is commentating. How on earth did City get that penalty they got? We would never get that 😅

Mazraoui for £13mil has to go down as one of the steals of the summer. I still can’t understand how we got him for that price from Bayern. His versatility, his ability on the ball are both top class.

Neville’s usually very fair when it comes to Utd Nil. If anything I think he’s often too harsh on Utd so as to not appear biased. Thought it was probably a red but I’m not surprised it wasn’t overturned. Thought it looked worse the first time I saw it then didn’t look as bad. More reckless than aggressive. Very even game otherwise. Not much quality wise

That’s it Sean. City and Arsenal have conceded the same number of goals as us. That’s mental as we’ve been terrible at the back.

As you suggest Sean, City’s points tallies have probably skewed our expectations of what is considered normal for this time of the year. I’m not specifically talking points tallies. More just the quality of the top teams compared to the rest of the league. I don’t necessarily think the teams just below the top teams are better than they were the last few seasons either. Maybe it’s just me.

I think it’s both tbh (the teams around getting stronger and the top teams having less quality). I don’t think the City and Arsenal teams are as good as 1/2/3 seasons ago. I don’t think this is a great Liverpool team either if I’m honest. Not compared to the free flowing team with Mane, Firmino, Salah etc. Slot has to take credit for racking up the points so far regardless. City of 2-3 seasons ago don’t lose in the cup then lose to Bournemouth the following match.

Impressive comeback by Liverpool. The quality at the top of the league doesn’t seem as good as usual this season. It feels like the top sides are just getting through games rather than blowing teams away like in recent seasons. You’d still expect City to go on one of their runs soon and pull away.

Good to see you back posting Beni. Hope you’re well.
Some very good games this weekend. Reckon Newcastle could take some points off Arsenal. Fancy a draw there. City should have too much for Bournemouth. Would like to see Ipswich get their first win after the job McKenna has done there and I fancy them today. I think Liverpool will be too strong at home for Brighton. Spurs Villa should be a home win. No idea for our match. Hopefully still riding high on the new manager bounce which could see us do enough.

The Overlap did a good tactical breakdown showing what we can expect

I definitely think Bruno can play in one of those two behind the striker Alfie. I’m not convinced Garnacho can though as they don’t seem to play wide at all where the width instead comes from the wing backs. I’m not sure about Garnacho playing inside like that. I think Amad is better suited there

Yeah potentially Zirkzee in one of those positions then Threeps. Still far from convinced about him but I’ve seen glimpses of him playing some good stuff for the Netherlands so we’ll see. Ugarte and Mainoo seems to be the most popular suggestion as a double pivot anyway so no idea where Mount would play.

Threeps, his Sporting side had the 4th highest defensive line in Europe supposedly so I’d be surprised to see a low block. I think it’s wing back where we’re weakest. I think we’re ok for CBs and midfielders and even have decent depth in the forward positions. Garnacho I’m not sure where he fits. I think Amad could get more game time as one of the 10s alongside Bruno possibly

I think he has Sean. I rate him despite some mistakes. No worries at all that you disagree. More than welcome to talk about Utd Sean. Always welcome different opinions. You too, have a good one.

Sean, you picked Martinez out of EVERY SINGLE DEFENDER in the league to be in your team of the season and have a go at Utd fans for rating him?! De Ligt hasn’t been awful at all. The guy’s started 6 games in the league and you’e suggesting we should be writing him off already. Honestly, if we were all as critical as you seem insistent on us being, you’d be moaning that we’re too pessimistic. Why do you get so invested in what we think about our club and players? I honestly don’t get it. Liverpool fans rate Darwin Nunez which I don’t particularly get but I don’t get why I would care about it like you seem to care so much about my feelings about Utd. You’re welcome to your opinion Sean and it’s always good to hear your opinions. It’s just a genuine question about why it bothers you so much.
