@JC Welcome to the site. Cheers for the reminder. Auto updates are enabled so we should be fine there.
As for the game, I think Liverpool will get through. It won’t be boring that’s for sure. Are we likely to see Solanke play?

Yeah fair enough Sean. Utd were pretty poor in the league last season and in particular those big away games. Definitely need to see more this season. I meant through his career he’s done that more often than not and it’s usually resulted in trophies but you’re right about last season

@Rob, not a good opening weekend at all from your boys. Heads will surely roll for the Matic sale to Utd. The last place Chelsea want to be going after a home defeat to Burnley is away to Spurs. As you say, you can only hope Wembley is a factor for Spurs.
@maverick1973 Welcome to the site. Who do you support? Certainly a lot of crazy fees going around. Sigurdsson rumoured fee is crazy._____________________________

Pretty fair assessment Banjo. Spurs will be fine as long as they can keep Alli and Kane fit. I’m surprised they didn’t go for Defoe as a decent backup for Kane. I’m sure he’d have loved to have come back.
Sean, I just can’t see Utd going at the big teams away from home. Mourinho has always been cautious in the big games away from home, in particular, and it’s served him well until now. I really don’t think he will change that.
Makaveli, there certainly appears to be something amiss at Chelsea. They’ve got a tough run of games now so they could easily find themselves with a fair bit of catching up to do very early in the season. I want to say they need to try to change the setup to give the manager more control and therefore keep the managers longer, but it’s hard to argue that their manager policy is wrong. Chelsea have probably won more than anyone over the last 10 or so years. Why would they suddenly start changing things. Top managers will always be attracted to big wages and the chance to live and work in London

ginger, it’s a difficult one. As you say, Liverpool could soon be in the situation Barca have been left in. Lots of cash, little time to spend it. It has a knock on effect in terms of replacing him. It’s all well and good getting an inflated fee for Coutinho but Liverpool are going to be charged similarly inflated prices for a replacement. Someone, somewhere will end the window with lots of the Neymar money in the bank and a star player short. I wouldn’t like to put my money on which club that will be!

Impressive that from Utd. West Ham were poor but Utd looked dangerous from all areas of the pitch. Pogba looked much better with Matic covering him. Martial showing signs that he needs to start. This was the kind of game Utd struggled with last year. It’s a long old season but Spurs, City and Utd most impressive so far after the opening weekend.

Completely agree Pax. If the site grows to the level where that becomes a problem, I think it will have to change back. The club sites should ideally be places where the fans of that club can discuss things about their club without other fans jumping in and spoiling their site. It needs to be a place where you can slag off rival fans if you want. The current setup is not ideal for that.
For now, this setup just helps the forum look more full than the other way, which I hope helps encourage those visiting the site to sign up and post. My worry with the old set up at this early stage is that fans wonβt find the club sites.

Spurs look impressive. Remains to be seen if Wembley is going to be an issue for them though. Also important they get the depth they need in the last few weeks of the window. Banjo’s shopping list would do the job

More like Rose and Kane for Shaw ?

Sean, I’m not even convinced VVD is the solution to the problem. No doubt he’ll strengthen the back line but Liverpool probably need to invest in a decent defence coach as much as anything IMO

Paulinho is a crazy one. Surely a journo just getting his “… inho’s” mixed up.
Banjo, that would be a decent window for your lot. I’m not sure about the Shaw bit but it could be worth a try!

I honestly don’t think the attraction to play there is because of much more than the climate and the wages. I think the whole prestige thing is often overplayed
Coutinho's Liverpool teammates sympathise with him. Understand why he wants move. Nearly all players will say yes to Barcelona & Real Madrid

Thanks for the feedback and welcome to the site.
League tables should be always up to date. You can find a bit more in-depth fixtures and tables under the “tables” tab in the menu. I’ll be looking at making that particular page even more in-depth so I will probably add League One and League Two fixtures and tables before too long

Zk, as good as that sounds, I think ginger is right in the sense that you very rarely see player plus cash deals. They’re often rumoured but very rarely actually happen.

Well, but for a very late winning goal, we almost saw 3 of the supposed title challengers in Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all dropping points. This is why we love the Premier League. Who would have predicted Chelsea to be 3-0 down at home to Burnley and then almost recover with 9 men? No other top league can compete for entertainment value.

Bloody hell, 3-0 Burnley at Chelsea. Is all not well at Chelsea?
