He’s so dangerous in and around the box. He’ll be a good alternative for them off the bench if nothing else

They were mate. To be fair, I think they’ve been restless long before the season began. I doubt many wanted Wenger to carry on after last season.
Brilliant header Giroud. There goes the entertainment on Arsenalfantv βΊοΈ

You certainly are careworker/taxi. Arsenal can’t be conceding 3 at home to this Leicester side if they’re expecting anything resembling a title challenge.

What a start to the new season? I have a feeling we’ll be seeing #wengerout everywhere for a while again!

Looking pretty unanimous so far. That will be the next change then but for now you can obviously reach that forum at footydebate.com/community alternatively by the All Topics tab on the drop down menu under Home

Alfie, I’m not so sure. Is there much of a difference between formally handing in a request and telling your club you want to leave? Isn’t the latter just a sneaky way of doing the same thing whilst not forfitting any due loyalty bonuses?

That’s the worry Sean. Even without needing to replace Coutinho, Liverpool seem to have really struggled to get their targets in. The only good thing about selling him this year rather than next is that you can definitely offer CL football for any potential replacement. There’s no guarantee you’ll have that to offer in 12 months time.

Mwake, I hope for your sake that isn’t the case. Liverpool losing both Klopp and Coutinho could be disastrous. As you say though, Klopp must be used to losing his best players from his time at Dortmund. They were always being sold off to bigger clubs there

You lot probably know better than me but he doesn’t seem like the type to kick up a fuss and sulk if he doesn’t get his move. I think he’ll get his head down like Suarez and Ronaldo did for one more season

Would be great to see Liverpool refuse to budge Mak, but I just can’t see it. Liverpool surely need to start looking to life after Coutinho already rather than delaying the inevitable. I hope I’m wrong

Sorry lads. Couldn’t resist. Joking aside, I’d be sad to see Coutinho go. I really want all the best players to stay in the league. It’s about time the English clubs started putting their superior wealth to good use and dig their heels in when it comes to those 2 clubs.

Who’s worth following on twitter for credible updates to this story?

No idea what to make of the Coutinho saga. One minute he’s definitely staying, the next he’s handing in a transfer request which Liverpool are denying. Could be a lot of twists and turns in this one yet. I wouldn’t like to gamble on either scenario

Brilliant from Liverpool. Imagine Barca a few years ago losing (arguably) their most valuable player and not being able to bring their top targets in. I think we’ve seen a real power shift over the last year or so. The squads at Barca and Real are still some way above most of the rest of Europe but you get the feeling that once Messi, Suarez and Ronaldo start showing their age, the Spanish league could easily slip down the ladder.
