The fee (rumoured £40mil) just makes it even more bizarre. He’s 29/30 too. How does someone like that, deemed not good enough for top European sides, do enough in China to convince an elite club to spend that amount of money on him at that age. Just bizarre. Makes the Gravesen to Real Madrid move a few years back look entirely logical

Sean, I didn’t know they’d won the last 3 at Anfield. As you say, it’s one of those games all the big sides should be winning but those can sometimes be the hardest to win as the away team just camp in their own box. Liverpool need teams to come at them. You’d expect some kind of an attempt to play football from a De Boer team

I had a play with it so it should be better now. If not, I’ll try to get some expert help soon to get it sorted properly!

Paxton, is it any better now? If not, what is the problem? Are the boxes too narrow?

P.S. Banjo, I noticed your predictions for this week have City to draw (hope so!) and a thumping win for your lot at home to Chelsea. Could Conte be in trouble as early as 2 games in if that does happen?
Everyone else, remember to get your predictions in

Some good ones there Banjo. I fancy Huddersfield to keep the pressure on Utd at the top, with a convincing home win over Newcastle! At least one of Chelsea or Spurs will drop points. Hopefully a draw there. A loss for Chelsea could make things very interesting. Will Wembley be the issue a lot predict for Spurs?
Liverpool should get their first big win over a poor Palace side. City should really be winning at home to Everton. Rooney will be up for that one

Definitely feels like there are more goals in this Sean. That away goal is massive though

@JC Welcome to the site. Cheers for the reminder. Auto updates are enabled so we should be fine there.
As for the game, I think Liverpool will get through. It won’t be boring that’s for sure. Are we likely to see Solanke play?

Yeah fair enough Sean. Utd were pretty poor in the league last season and in particular those big away games. Definitely need to see more this season. I meant through his career he’s done that more often than not and it’s usually resulted in trophies but you’re right about last season

@Rob, not a good opening weekend at all from your boys. Heads will surely roll for the Matic sale to Utd. The last place Chelsea want to be going after a home defeat to Burnley is away to Spurs. As you say, you can only hope Wembley is a factor for Spurs.
@maverick1973 Welcome to the site. Who do you support? Certainly a lot of crazy fees going around. Sigurdsson rumoured fee is crazy._____________________________

Pretty fair assessment Banjo. Spurs will be fine as long as they can keep Alli and Kane fit. I’m surprised they didn’t go for Defoe as a decent backup for Kane. I’m sure he’d have loved to have come back.
Sean, I just can’t see Utd going at the big teams away from home. Mourinho has always been cautious in the big games away from home, in particular, and it’s served him well until now. I really don’t think he will change that.
Makaveli, there certainly appears to be something amiss at Chelsea. They’ve got a tough run of games now so they could easily find themselves with a fair bit of catching up to do very early in the season. I want to say they need to try to change the setup to give the manager more control and therefore keep the managers longer, but it’s hard to argue that their manager policy is wrong. Chelsea have probably won more than anyone over the last 10 or so years. Why would they suddenly start changing things. Top managers will always be attracted to big wages and the chance to live and work in London
