I do remember those discussions Jim! I’d be all for some kind of cap but it’s probably unlikely to happen any time soon. FFP seemingly has far too many loopholes, rendering it worthless imo

Ox now seemingly doesn’t want the Chelsea move and prefers Liverpool deal. Bit surprised by that. Chelsea move means he gets to stay in London and if the reported Β£200k a week is even in the right ball park, he’s unlikely to get anywhere near that at Liverpool. On the other hand, fair play to him if the preference is based on wanting more playing time which he’ll surely get at Pool

Evening Jim,
It’s basically a rating system. I think it’s as simple as the number of points refer to how many of your posts have been voted up. The little avatars at the bottom of some posts means someone has voted up (liked) a post.
P.S Feel free to spread the word amongst any fellow City fans. It’s all too friendly on here at the moment. We need a few fiery debates going! FFP anyone? ?

PSG aren’t messing about are they? All these record tv deals and revenues in the Prem and it’s a team from the French League blowing everyone else out of the water. If there was any doubt before, surely Mbappe to PSG would all but confirm the death of FFP?

Yeah I really can’t imagine City swapping Aguero for a player they can get for free in 12 months.
I just saw on twitter that the Ox is set to be Chelsea’s highest earner on Β£200k+!I thought he was going there to warm the bench and help them fill the homegrown quota. He’s a decent player but I’m not surprised Arsenal are happy to let him go if he’s after that much money. He’s not that good. Surely just paper talk. 999,any idea?

The North Korean keeper Banjo. That “slip” was terrible!
Interesting…

I reckon that’s a decent deal for a player who will leave on a free in a year

I’ve always loved watching the national team and I’ll be watching on Friday. However, I find my excitement for England games dwindling with each passing game. I’ll be massively up for the World Cup but these qualifiers against minnows are a real struggle to get excited about!

Well the Keita deal is done and dusted. Decent deal really for Liverpool and Leipzig. Will be interesting to follow his development this season knowing he’s coming to the PL.
In other news, Rashford is supposedly on Barca’s radar as a long term replacement for Suarez. Really can’t see that one happening

Not heard about him Banjo.
I hope we’re in for an exciting deadline day. So often, it just fails to live up to the hype. I used to want to sit down in front of Sky Sports News all day and watch out for all the big rumours but it’s so rare you get a big unexpected deadline day deal these days!

To echo what 999 has said, anyone posting on this site is on a clean slate. It would be unreasonable of me to judge posters on their actions on any other site.
With that said, whilst I can’t guarantee this site will succeed in the long term, I can guarantee it won’t be a site where problems are left unresolved. Anyone not contributing positively to the site will not be allowed to continue posting. Anyone who wishes to complain about any post/poster can do so by emailing me at editor@footydebate.com.

Hard to disagree with any of that Banjo. Great to see Huddersfield doing so well. I agree though about Wagner. They’ll do well to keep hold of him. Klopp version 2.0

Good summary Jim. It will be interesting to see if Evans comes in to shore up that back line. I think he’s quite underrated, Evans. He’s probably not worth the money City are supposedly offering but it’s hard to attribute any logic to fees these days.
Looking forward to the City vs Liverpool game after the International break anyway!

Talk of a big bid for Lemar from Monaco? Is this Liverpool spending the Coutinho money or are they looking at signing someone like Lemar regardless? Arsenal seem to have given up hope on him now. Could he a good move

Jim, welcome to the site! Look forward to reading a City fan’s perspective.
Did you see Shearer’s reaction to the Sterling sending off? He was going mad on MOTD about it. I still fear City this season despite an indifferent start. I had them down as my winners for the league and I think, once they click, they will be a real force. I think you’ll completely outplay Utd anyway in the Derby. City, like Liverpool, will excel against the bigger sides I feel.

Sadly 9, I can only see it all ending in tears down at the Emirates. He could (& should) have left this summer with his head held high after lifting the FA Cup. The power he seemingly has over his own destiny is crippling that club and will be their downfall
