Too right Banjo. City were very fortunate there in the end. Utd well on top so far but it counts for nothing if we don’t put the ball in the net. Pogba looks hungry today and desperate to get a goal. Lukaku has been kept relatively quiet by Morgan. Decent game so far

It’s a fair point Beni. Still, an easy group hopefully means facing those kind of teams in the knockout stages. You’re right though. It’s the games against the liks of Barca, Bayern, Real Madrid that gets the fans and players excited again for those European nights

Bit odd 9 to say the least! Utd and Liverpool, in particular, could have got much tougher groups. Ours is arguably a bit “easier” but as a pot 3 team, Liverpool were much more likely to get a really tough one so will probably count themselves one of the most fortunate teams in this draw

It’s far too early to call but there’s no denying the early signs look promising. Zlatan signing for another year will surely help even more. Few teams would want to defend corners, crosses and set pieces with Zlatan, Lukaku, Fellini, Matic, Pogba, Billy and Co in and around the box.
This is not a great footballing team though so I think Utd will be outplayed by some of the top teams and will have to rely on big wins against the lower sides to make sure those games don’t matter as much.
I still fear City somewhat despite their indifferent start. When in full flow, they’re a joy to watch and will outplay most teams I think this season

@Goonerfreak Good to see you back. It’s quite fitting that you should post this on a day when Arsenal fans usually would be starting to look at their CL group and deciding which games look the most exciting. I completely understand your pain and frustration.
There was a time when I almost enjoyed watching Arsenal fail to win things after being such a feared team during Wenger’s peak years. Now, I must admit, I have started to feel a tad sorry for the fans. It genuinely feels like Arsene is there until he decides otherwise which is surely a dangerous, unsustainable way to run a club.
Still, the season is still only just 2 games in and anything could still happen. Good luck for the rest of the season. Are you expecting any more incoming before the end of the window?

The complete 2017/18 UEFA Champions League Group Stage draw!
Most exciting group?#UCLdraw pic.twitter.com/Jf9ebJrJ9t

Utd have no excuse to not top that group. Liverpool should really be getting through theirs too. In fact, with the exception of Spurs, the PL teams should all be fine. I wouldn’t even write Spurs off just yet though either. On their day, they’re very capable of beating the likes of Dortmund so I’d say 2nd place is very much up for grabs there

Liverpool brilliant for that opening 20. Should be well on their way to booking their place in the group stage draw for tomorrow now. Liverpool playing like that will be tough for any of the top sides to come up against

Some good matches. Huddersfield could easily keep up their 100% record with another home win. City surely will get a win away at Bournemouth who look like they might struggle this season. Spurs with a relatively easy game which should help them settle at Wembley. Liverpool v Arsenal definitely the pick of the weekend games

P.S I’ll have a look at putting some more detailed rankings together so you can see average points, number of predictions etc. Should get that on for next week’s matches

Happy with this so far Sean. Only just switched it on. I’m pleased for Rooney. He’ll have enjoyed that one. Have City been on top?

Is this the Bellamy clip you mean Beni?
Craig Bellamy on the Coutinho saga. Klopp would sell but the owners aren't getting involved apparently… ?pic.twitter.com/FUzR3SpPjo

Spurs seem to have had more of the ball and more attempts. I still fancy Spurs to win this actually

? Chelsea’s turn tomorrow 9. What do you reckon? Tough one to call. Lots of people are wondering if Spurs might struggle with playing at Wembley while Chelsea will be short of confidence after that first game. I’ve gone for a pretty convincing 3-1 win to Spurs and you can see on that link what some of our other posters have gone for. Certainly wouldn’t like to have any money on this one

Fair enough 9. The Chelsea fans seem quite mixed about it all. Bakayoko still has everything to prove but if he can reach anything like the performances he put in for Monaco last season, it looks like Chelsea have a good replacement on their hands. I must admit, I wasn’t entirely convinced by him against some of the better sides in the CL last season but he’s still young and will surely only get better

How’s Solanke looking so far for Liverpool? I guess it’s a bit early to say but I think a lot of people have high hopes for him. He’s looked good in the England youth teams

Good wins for Utd and Liverpool. Leicester looked good too. Arsenal looking like they’re going to drop points. Utd are looking very strong at this early stage of the season with 2 4-0 wins on the trot. They’ll face tougher tests though than Swansea and West Ham.
Looking forward to the Spurs Chelsea game tomorrow
